    New kitchen

We completed a full kitchen remodel, and working with Casa Utopia Builders was a great experience overall. The project moved quickly just over three months for the main part, compared to the 4-6 month timelines quoted by other contractors. One of the biggest transformations we wanted was swapping the locations of our kitchen and family room so we could finally have the island I'd been dreaming about. Elior handled this major layout change confidently and creatively. We also worked with his designer, who guided us to companies for cabinets and appliances, and he brought in a floor specialist who refinished our existing hardwood beautifully and stained everything to a fresh, updated color. Other upgrades included a new skylight, a garden window, replacing the old kitchen window with a long narrow family‑room window, and replacing both a slider glass door and a pocket door. My husband also found a TV‑wall design he loved, and after we purchased the slats, the contractor built the feature wall complete with integrated lighting (we still need to figure out how to turn those lights on, but the wall itself looks great). He was easy to work with, responsive, flexible throughout the process, and accommodating with our start‑date requirements. A few hiccups came up, mostly related to items we purchased ourselves. Our double blower didn't fit, so we had to return it and wait five weeks for a single blower that was back‑ordered. And because of the skylight placement, we ended up without lights over the island, which we didn't realize until later. The major workmanship issue was that the new hardwood in the kitchen shows nail holes, which we wish had been addressed differently. And when it came time to pick out all our furniture bar stools, kitchen table, and family‑room pieces the designer wasn't available, so I selected everything myself with help from friends. Even with these bumps, we absolutely love our new, functional kitchen. The layout works beautifully for our family, and the transformation is dramatic. We do wish he had recommended a few additional upgrades to make the kitchen truly stand out, but overall the craftsmanship is strong and the project was completed faster than anyone else we interviewed. We would absolutely recommend him for kitchen remodels and large structural reconfigurations. We are definitely recommending to contact them for any type and scale work. Good luck.

We worked with Casa Utopia to remodel a master bathroom and a guest hall bath; both were circa 2007 and in serious need of an update. Raz is our first point of contact and he is polite, responsive and solution oriented. Ours isn't a big project but the team handled it with professionalism and expertise. Johnny and his crew worked 8-10 hour days consistently, even through weekends, to complete our project. There were no delays except waiting for the city inspection, I think summer/ early fall is a busy time of year. The job site is left organized and tidied up neatly at the end of every day. The details and finishes came out flawlessly, thank you to Kathia for your design support and patience in our change orders. The project cost was not the lowest in the bids we received however the value was great in the level of skilled work performed. Other tips for those starting to plan remodels- some design expectations need to be managed in order to meet CA codes, especially if you haven't had any remodeling work done in a while! Also keep in mind project bids will not include items ordered via your builder team from outside third party vendors and those will add significantly to the final cost if you are dead set on fancy fabrication work ie four inch Dekton countertops. My advice to homeowners is to decide how many of your wishlist items are at what I consider to be "you only live once" league.

We remodeled our master bath with Casa Utopia. David was our project manager and Rinat our designer. They were extremely professional throughout the design to build process and beyond patient with our change order, material delays and frankly excessive attention to detail. They worked with us to make sure we were happy with each design phase - framing, plumbing and tiling and always sought our inputs. They showed up on time and delivered per their committed timelines, checking up on the job site multiple times a day! We are overjoyed with our final finished bathroom especially the shower and the skylight . We (mostly) got everything we budgeted for with the exception of another tiled wall which would have resulted in a massive change order but that is a lesson learnt for next time! Already planning on using them for our next project. Thank you Rinat, Elior, Robert and David.

Robert did a great job redoing our bathroom. Super easy to work with and came out looking great.

Casa Utopia did a fantastic job with our home extension project! They were meticulous in their quality of work and did an outstanding job. I would suggest for any future homeowners to engage with Casa Utopia team, make sure to align well on the specifics of the project to ensure no gaps.

We were looking to remodel our guest bathroom and interview several companies. In the end we chose to go with Casa Utopia. Robert met us at their main office and reviewed options that we had and then we met with Kathia their designer to pick out tiles and hardware. Prices were competitive. But more important - communication was great. Marcos came to our house and did everything from demo to installation. We could have gone cheaper to fix the issues but are way more happier with the final product. If you are looking to do some work on your home I would highly recommend Robert and the crew on your next project. We will plan to use them for our future projects as well.

We recently completed a home extension project with Elior & his team -- added a new bedroom and bathroom, and extending our existing master bedroom. Overall, the quality of work and timeline exceeded our expectations. At first, we started working with another company which did not go well. Later we switched over to Casa Utopia & Elior & I'm so glad we did. Elior provided valuable suggestions on how we can change the design & fit our needs within our budget. The team completed the project ahead of schedule, which is a huge plus. They were dedicated -- working weekends and ensuring all city inspections were done on time. They proactively fixed issues with the existing sub-floor and added extra rain protection to prevent delays or damage during construction. The designer was helpful with bathroom design choices -- offering practical advice like selecting fixtures made entirely of brass and pointing us to good material sources. Even after the contract officially ended, Elior agreed to come back and install ceiling fans for us, which we really appreciate. Communication & Project management could be better but overall I'm very happy with the output. Thank you, Elior and team!

We recently moved into a home that was built in 1977 and apart from some appliances, almost everything was original. We were in store for a huge home improvement project. We needed to redo: all the floors, the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, living room, family room, exterior/interior paint, windows, and fireplace. We meticulously searched for a contractor. We messaged 8 and met with 4. Casa Utopia instantly stood out due to their professionalism and attention to detail. In terms of cost they were somewhere in the middle but it still felt fair and reasonable. It also felt justified based on past projects they had shown us. They do amazing work! They have interior designers (shout out to Rinat) that work with you to customize each space to your liking while providing their professional input when needed. They put together renderings based on your selected finishes to make sure you like everything before you start purchasing material. I'll share photos of some of our renderings. During the construction process, the project manager (shout out to Raz) did a great job communicating with us and he made sure to send progress pics to keep us in the loop. We have heard horror stories about contractors and are so glad we virtually had no issues or complaints. We recommend Casa Utopia to all our friends, family, and coworkers any chance we get. If you're getting ready for a project at home, do yourself a favor and meet with them. I hope you also go with them. You won't regret it! Take a look at some of our before and after photos.

    New tile (kitchen floor)

I hired Casa Utopia to replace my kitchen floor (from laminate to tile) and change bathtub fixtures. Jonny and Pablo did a great job (very skillful and detail oriented, clean-up throughly afterwards, very friendly...). I will definitely hire them again for future projects, and refer them to my friends. Thank you very much guys!

It is now two weeks out from Casa Utopia completing our home remodel project. We are absolutely delighted with the work and outcome. The scope of our project went from simple hardwood floor replacement and painting of three rooms, to a complete bathroom remodel which included the relocation of water supply and drains. Raz was our Project Manager. He maintained open lines of communication, explained every step, and kept the project moving. Previously, our other bathroom remodel took 10 weeks (different contractor). Raz had this bathroom project finished within 4 weeks (with an additional week for the flooring replacement of the other rooms). We never felt this was a side project for them. The team was at our house every morning at 8am, and put in solid hours to get our project completed. As for quality, things I notice, all the grout lines are straight (wall and floor), the hardwood flooring was cut evenly (no jagged edging), texturing of the walls matches the walls that were not modified. We have consistency throughout. We need to also mention and thank Nicole, who was our designer. She was very patient every time we changed our mind on a design element. Her quick turn-around on the CAD drawings helped my wife visualize the final project. This gave us the confidence that we were not going to regret any aspect of the final product. If we had to do this over, we would choose Casa Utopia again. We have already recommended them to several friends.

    Back of house

The true measure of a contractor is how they handle the inevitable problems that come up with a big project. Casa Utopia passed this test with flying colors. During our project they always strived to get the work done with high quality and make sure that we were satisfied with the work. Raz and Elior communicate well and they never went missing during the project. We did an exterior remodel project with a driveway and Casa Utopia was able to get the project done on time and with high quality. Our home looks so much better thanks to their work. They have the people and tools to get any job done at a fair price and we're glad we went with them. I would recommend using Casa Utopia as a contractor for large projects and we certainly will if we have another project come up.

The timelines did extend significantly beyond the original estimates, and I had to stay on top of the subcontractors to ensure the craftsmanship met my standards. It wasn't a hands-off experience, but because he is such an honest person to deal with and his pricing is so competitive, we got both projects to the finish line. Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

We've always had communications / language barriers when working with workers in the past, so it was nice to be able to answer questions or give feedback directly onsite without having to wait for Umid to jump in. I also found Cotfort trustworthy and reasonable. For one, I decided to try an online-only tile company which led to terrible delays to the project (my fault there), and they were patient with reschedules though I know it caused them headaches. They also stepped in to make things right, without hesitation, when their countertop fabricator accidentally installed the wrong floor curb on the shower.
