Inspired Builders did a phenomenal job remodeling our 2200 sq ft, 5 bed house in San Carlos, CA. From the moment we met our project manager Eden Gazit, we knew we were in great hands. Eden's calm, assuring presence and regular check-ins onsite gave us comfort in navigating a complex job which included the removal of several walls, structural updates, 3 new bathrooms and a kitchen, re-plumbing, re-wiring and the conversion of a kitchenette into an extra bedroom. IB's service included a 3D designer who visualized our home and helped us choose finishes in-person. The final product is practically identical to the renders that were produced. Eden's construction team, led by Mike Aguilar, worked tirelessly and from the first day of demo to final tiling, they showed care and professionalism keeping the job site tidy and always being respectful to neighbors. As a designer, I am very particular about process and finish and IB did not disappoint me. I would recommend IB and Eden without hesitation.

Great execution of this project with superb quality and at great price point. Adam, my project manager was there to solve any issues as the project moved along for a timely delivery.

BEFORE - Master Bath
Nik K.

TLDR: Hired Inspired Builders (Adam was our PM) for a big renovation: kitchen cabinet resurfacing, full master bath remodel, whole-house recessed lighting, and a subpanel replacement with patchwork. Interviewed six contractors and we are so glad we chose them! Adam was responsive, organized, and super flexible, even when city permits caused delays. He adjusted the timeline to keep things moving and made sure the house was spotless before our baby shower/housewarming, which says a lot about how much he cares. Their team handled everything from design help (shoutout to Nicole, who spent a day picking finishes with us) to execution. The bathroom feels like a spa now--wider door, new tile, double vanity, and the cool little shadow box for toiletries. The kitchen cabinets look amazing, and they even painted the inside for free. The recessed lighting (30+ cans!) completely changed the vibe of the house. We went from relying on lamps to a bright, modern feel in every room. They flagged our outdated subpanel early and replaced it quickly with minimal disruption. Everything's labeled, clean, and future-ready. We had a toddler, a dog, and a pregnant wife at home, so we really appreciated how respectful and tidy the crew was. Daily cleanups, careful with materials, and responsive to our feedback. Minor hiccups here and there (mostly scheduling), but Adam always made it right. He even came back weeks later to finish a few punch-list items after things were delivered. The work speaks for itself and we get constant compliments. If you're looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and genuinely great team, go with Inspired Builders. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat. (And yep--before & after pics are a must!)

We found Inspired Builders via a Yelp search and they have exceeded expectations. We used them to remodel our kids bathroom -- reconfiguring it while removing tub and closet. Adam, Noa, Walter and the crew were transparent in their communication (WhatsApp group definitely helped :)), efficient (completed the job in under 4 weeks from start of demolition) and a pleasure to work with. They were quick to jump in and fix things when things didn't go as planned. I particularly appreciated this and it showed that they took pride in their work. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them for future projects.

Before and after

Barak and his team did an amazing job with our kids'/guest bathroom at our house in Mountain View. He came highly recommended from a friend in Menlo Park, and I'm very happy with my choice to work with him. He was easy to communicate with, his timeline was accurate, and his pricing came in quite a bit below another contractor I received a quote from. The guys working at our house (Julie and Carlos) were very competent, friendly, and respectful of our space, and Leo did a great job on the tile work. I didn't like one of the materials I had picked out, and when I brought it up with Barak he just agreed to change it like it was no big deal. Phew! We plan to work with them again when it's time to do our master bathroom. Thanks Inpired Builders!

We just finished our master bathroom renovation with Inspired Builders. The bathroom came out beautiful and we are very thankful to the IB crew who worked hard on our project and were very attentive to our needs. We appreciate Joseph, the project manager and Nicole for their helpful recommendations and guidance throughout the project. We would highly recommend this company!

This is just a rendering but tbh our kitchen turned out almost EXACTLYYY like the rendering. So beautiful!

Last December, I began my search for a reputable and diligent remodeling and construction team for my home renovation. After interviewing a total of four companies (all found on Yelp), my husband and I made the decision to move forward with Inspired Builders. What brought us to that decision was the communication style and friendliness of our project manager, Ben. He had a good sense of humor and straightforward approach. Despite Inspired Builder's quote coming nearly 20k over another company, we still went with them. Our project was a hallway bathroom remodel, a kitchen remodel, and renovating two bedrooms into 1 primary suite with an added on closet and bathroom, effectively going from 3 BR 1 BA to 2 BR 2 BA. We also repainted the interior of the home, re-finished the walls, removed a fireplace, and completely redid the flooring. My husband and I come from a super humble background - him a teacher, and me in non-profit work. That means EVERY. SINGLE. DOLLAR is not taken for granted, and everything we spent was intentionally saved. Ben really understood this and explained every phase of the construction and what we were paying for, and i felt he wasn't trying to scam me into paying into things i didn't need. Like any thrilling home renovation, we stumbled upon a couple issues here and there - one with our solar, our plumbing, and some rotted wood in the bathroom. Ben communicated the issues at every step and kept in contact with us and essentially took care of whatever he could. Since my husband is a teacher and I work in San Francisco, we weren't on site every day or every week and trusted Ben completely to help us make decisions and get things done, and he did just that. Partway through the process, we were given a different on-site manager and it was a bummer to not be able to see Ben anymore, although he stayed in contact weekly - and i should note that we got reassigned not for anything bad, but because Ben got promoted! Let me tell ya, these guys are working on 5-6 projects at a time and yet somehow he answers within an hour, and knows every detail of your project and doesn't get it confused with another project. One thing I would recommend is being really clear about your price preferences on finished materials, and be willing to look for things yourself if you don't agree with the price of something chosen for you. And be prepared to stay super organized - they give you a google sheet with items you need to purchase by room, and it's super important to check EVERY LINK and make sure you're buying what you're supposed to get. If you're confused, ASK THE QUESTIONS! Anyway, the house turned out beautifully and we're so thrilled to move back in. It's completely brightened, everything is modern and awesome, and it feels very "us." Overall, wonderful experience and I'm happy to chat with anyone considering Inspired Builders!

Old Kitchen

We contracted with Inspired Builders because Eddie took the time and care to explain the concept he had in mind for our home after I told him what I wanted my new kitchen to look like. Eddie and Fernando made sure that all projects I asked for were completed. Even though I started with just a kitchen remodel, while we were waiting for the designs and approvals from the City, I also had them paint the exterior of my house and replace our roof that was almost 40 years old. I had such a small kitchen before, so making holiday cookies and having family dinners was difficult, I had to move things around so I would have counter space to prepare our meals or make baked goods. I'm very happy with the end results. I love my new kitchen. My cat gets his own feeding area so the dog won't eat his food and we made room for a coffee station. Thank you Eddie and Fernando for helping us with this remodel.

We had our kitchen remodeled. Inspired Builders Barak over saw entire project. The team included design person, individual teams for demolition, electrical box + wiring, plumbing, tiles + floors, lights, cabinets, refrigerator, stove reconnection, and permits. We are very satisfied with the results.

Our new kitchen!

Inspired Builders exceeded our expectations. They remodeled our entire house--kitchen, 3.5 bathrooms, hallways, wet bar, laundry room and flooring throughout the house. They understood our vision and thanks to them we now live in our dream house. Barak oversaw the entire project and was great at responding to all of our questions. We also lived with our three children during the entire project and everyone on the team was always very thoughtful and respectful when it came to giving us our space and privacy. And of course the cherry on top was that they were reasonably priced and helped us to stay (for the most part) on budget.

Inspired Builders built our dream home--and on budget! What we did: full kitchen renovation (2 supporting walls removed) and we changed the whole kitchen layout, full guest bathroom, reconfiguration of master bedroom and master bathroom (added walls, created a closet space and changed layout), interior updates (new doors, new flooring in the ENTIRE home, new paint all over the home, plumbing, electrical, removal of a front exterior enclosed patio, ANDDDD completely redid the exterior of my home, changing it from wood to stucco. Phew! Yes, they basically built us a new home in a span of 5 + months so let's just say, we know them VERY well by now! Warning: this review is long BUT detailed as possible so hopefully it can help you make a decision for your own renovation(s). W H Y Inspired Builders? We already knew how expensive this was going to be so it was VERY important for us to find contractors that we could trust. We interviewed 5 in total and all seemed similar (3D renderings, emphasis on past work, etc.), and what initially stood out to me was David's honest opinions. Right off the bat, he suggested ways I could save money, he offered layout suggestions and price differences. I knew he wasn't just trying to make a buck, and I knew right away that if we worked together, he would listen to me and have my back. There was zero pressure. Because if there's one thing I learned with major renovations, you NEED to be comfortable voicing what you want (or don't want) and that starts with how well you work with your team. Plus, there are always going to be surprises and knowing your contractor has your best interest in mind (both logically and budget-wise) is invaluable as you go through this crazy renovation journey. P R O C E S S: This was also a big deal for me because I have never gone through any remodel before. I knew absolutely NOTHING. After signing the agreement, you go through several meetings to discuss everything with everyone (the contractor, your project manager, the foreman, the engineer and the interior designer). Having everyone under the same company was THE BEST PART!! I can't even express how easy it was! Everyone is aware of everything so nothing gets lost in translation. As deadlines pop up and you're being asked a million questions, knowing everyone works together under the same roof makes the journey seamless. Less for you to worry about! Also, having a designer work with us was extremely valuable. You can Pinterest all you want, but nothing beats visiting stores and suppliers with a professional who understands pricing, colors, layout logistics, and who knows other suppliers so your designer can advocate for you. Shout out to Nicole! She was always there when we needed her- for advice, for meetups, phone calls, etc. My home is beautiful because of you! Once you have all your material picked out (yes, you pick out the majority of the material before construction begins) the team starts! Here you just to have to trust the process! But one thing I'd like to point out is our construction team was EXTREMELY TRUSTWORTHY and also very cordial and hardworking. Not only did I know that the personal belongings we left in our home were safe, but they were constantly covered and protected from dust, dirt and harm. Our foreman, Raul, was so easy to talk to that I had zero problems asking him for anything. Several times we changed our mind and sometimes, we were unsure about certain things. But the team was always available for meetings (in person and over the phone) and always made sure we were all in agreement before any decision were made. C O M M U N I C A T I O N: Inspired Builders excelled in this area! Our basic form of communication was through Whatsapp group chat where everyone involved was included. This made it easy for me to search through past conversations, images, documents and videos. I can't express how important communication is when it comes to renos, and David and his team excelled in this area! Every single day, we were updated through whats app and provided with progress pics. David never hesitated to call me or text me for both small and urgent matters. He helps you with your own task list (purchase this, think about this, measure this)--as a working mom, it was so helpful to have such an efficient project manger on your side. I have zero regrets working with Inspired Builders. Take a look at my photos and you'll see the AMAZING work they did on our home. Not only do I love my home, but I can confidently say that the entire, lengthy process of building my home was made sooo much easier and stress-free because of Inspired Builders. No horror stories here! We are constantly referring to them friends and if I ever need anything more done (hmmm maybe my garage?!!), I'll definitely be giving them a call again.

We engaged Jay Construction Company for a large-scale home remodeling project that encompassed…read morenearly every major living space in our house. The scope included a complete renovation of the kitchen, master bathroom, family room wet bar, and powder room, along with extensive upgrades to electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, flooring, drywall, and interior painting throughout a two-story home. Project Scope & Timeline The project spanned approximately nine months, from Q3 2025 through Q1 2026. This included: * 2.5 months for contractor selection and contract negotiation * 2 months for permit application * 3 months for construction and implementation * 1.5 months for finalizing the paperwork and permit status Jay and his team handled the permit application process and completed the construction phase on schedule and within budget. Notably, change orders were kept under 5% of the total contract value, which is commendable given the project's complexity. Overall Assessment Jay Construction delivered solid results in terms of execution, cost control, and quality. While there were some challenges--particularly around communication and project management--issues were generally resolved in a collaborative and reasonable manner. Based on our experience, we assign an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars. One important consideration for future clients: Jay manages multiple projects simultaneously and may not always be readily available. Homeowners who are willing to stay actively involved--especially in communication and coordination--will likely have a smoother experience. ======================================= Detailed Breakdown by Work Category 1. Electrical Work (9/10, weight 20) Handled by a licensed team (Caesar & his team, Alpha Valley Electric), the electrical work was efficient and well-coordinated. Rough and finish phases were completed in a day each, with additional visits for inspection fixes. High marks for responsiveness and execution. 2. Plumbing Work (8/10, weight 20) The plumbing contractor (Mark) demonstrated strong attention to detail. While this area generated the most change orders due to unforeseen issues with existing piping, problems (including two leaks) were addressed promptly and professionally. 3. Carpentry (9/10, weight 20) * Kitchen Cabinetry & Ventilation (9/10, weight 15): Kornei & team, high-quality installation with complex ventilation work executed to code. * Wet Bar Cabinetry (9/10, weight 5): Viktor, excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. 4. Countertop Installation (8/10, weight 10) Mario & his team of three. Quartz countertops were installed cleanly across multiple areas, with good overall results. 5. Master Bathroom Renovation (9/10, weight 10) Viktor. This portion stood out for its quality. Waterproofing, Wall & Floor tile work, and fixture installation were all completed to a high standard. 6. Flooring (9/10, weight 20) Navruz Flooring, team of 3. Luxury vinyl plank flooring and Baseboards were installed throughout the home, including stairs. The results were consistent and professionally finished. 7. Drywall & Painting (Mixed Results, weight 20) * Initial Work (6/10, weight 10): Ali & team. Drywall texture quality was below expectations, though painting was acceptable. * Redo Work (9/10, weight 5): Smart Painting. After concerns were raised, Jay allowed us to bring in an alternative team (paid with contract dollars), which significantly improved the outcome. * Final Touch-Ups (9/10, weight 5): VitaIy and Viktor. Excellent work. 8. Demolition & Debris Removal (8/10, weight 10) Dimitri (Kitchen, Mater Bath), Vladimir & his team (Rest of the project including all carpet, hardwood floor removal). Efficient and thorough across all phases of the project. 9. Permits & Inspections (7/10, weight 10) While Jay managed the process, we found it necessary to stay actively involved to resolve delays and clarify requirements with the building department. All inspections were ultimately passed, including final approval after two rounds. 10. Project Management & Communication (6/10, weight 20) This was the weakest area. Jay's limited availability meant we took on a more hands-on role--coordinating finished products and rough materials with subcontractors, and helping manage dependencies. That said, Jay was consistently fair and solution-oriented when issues arose, and worked with subcontractors to resolve dependencies. Final Verdict Jay Construction Company is a capable contractor that delivers good quality work at a reasonable cost and timeline. Their subcontractors are generally skilled and reliable, and the company demonstrates flexibility when addressing problems. However, the experience benefits significantly from active homeowner involvement, particularly in communication and day-to-day coordination. If you are prepared to take on that role, Jay Construction can be a strong partner for a comprehensive home renovation project.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail really stood out -- from the cabinetry and countertops to the finishes and overall layout. The crew was respectful of our home, kept the job site clean, and stayed on schedule as much as possible. Any questions or small adjustments were handled quickly and professionally. All prior interior work in our house had been done by handyman. I really appreciated the communication from our project manager Marc. He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use. I'm loving the new bathroom and recommend WISE.

Overall the experience was very good; Elijah and Bryan were super friendly and responsive. Eli was very patient and accommodating as we discussed several different potential change orders, from new windows to painting, to other misc. things that popped up. Bryan Luna was especially a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and proactivity to solve any little thing I mentioned was definitely the highlight of working with Prime. Their contracted electrician, Hector, was great as well. I also think they did a great job building out a cabinet to fit our freezer next to the matching fridge. Their master carpenter managed to salvage our existing wood to make it match perfectly. Definitely better than what I'd expect from even a carpentry specialty contractor. I will mention that it wasn't without some snags. Prime deals in volume so they're very busy. I think because I had delays in sourcing a freezer I ended up not getting a dedicated project manager for some time. We had timeline issues made worse with holidays. This caused cascading delays which inevitably pushed back my move in date a few weeks. When I finally did get a new project manager, they ghosted me (later on I found out they had a family emergency). Eli had to step in again to help. Another thing is that their pricing is quite opaque. The estimate will break down prices by milestones, but they repeated told me that it's not a valuation of the milestone itself. This made it nigh impossible to understand if I wanted to contract out specific pieces of the project (e.g. flooring). Design was OK. I felt that the designer was very busy. Sometimes very responsive (5min replies), sometimes not responsive at all (no reply). I wish I had a better, more thorough back-and-forth session about the intricacies of the design. But we made do. Ultimately, the designer made a render and helped point us to some vendors, but from there we had to make our own selection alone (cabinets, handles, pendant lights, faucets, etc.). I did appreciate her presence when we picked out countertops, though. All in all, I think this was a 4.5 star job, but I'm rounding to 5 because of Eli and Bryan :)

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

The pace of the job was very smooth right off the bat and only picked up once the work started. During the design phase the team including Liane were very pleasant to work with. Liane was extremely patient and helpful while she met us at two design stores to assist us in choosing colors and layouts. Once the work started, we were very impressed with the site prep as Eli delivered on keeping as much dust out of the the rest of the house. He made sure crew setup plastic sheeting throughout the whole bottom floor with zipper doors included so we could still access the living room and upstairs. From here, we were very pleased with the pace of things. Eli and his team are very eager to work and do not make you wait. The demo happened very quickly and before we knew it we were moving very quickly through rough electrical and plumbing. The rest of the job went very smoothly and ended up being ahead of schedule. At any time if something was not right, Eli was very open to our suggestions and critiques and always made sure his crew fixed the issue. Once the work was done Eli was very responsive and always made sure any minor issues/details were address and fixed.

From start to finish the interactions had been very professional, respectful and timely. What sets this company apart was that they knew what they were doing, very experienced and had made the best use of our time in the two in person meetings that we had by answering all the questions we had and giving us exactly what my husband and I needed. We started out thinking we wanted an ADU extension but Nir gave us an honest take on what would work with our home and we were impressed. Out of several handful of people we met we would have gone with Level up if we decided to start the project and hope they pick up our call when we are ready again in a few years. Thank you Nir, Ruth and the rest of the team.

We liked Sarmad's communication style - methodical and efficient, no extra words. Sarmad was incredibly efficient at managing our project. He made sure to schedule inspections right as we reached each checkpoint in the construction, so every day was optimized. As a result, our project from demolition to completion took just about 4 months. One aspect of our project that we worked closely with Sarmad on was to customize a computer server closet. Specifically, we wanted the closet to be soundproofed and have its own temperature control. Sarmad was very accommodating in our requests to install soundproofing insulation, and even suggested QuietRock drywall to enhance soundproofing. We also worked with the team to install conduits throughout the extension for future cable runs. Throughout the process, Sarmad was responsive to our questions and our requests.
