Hole in the wall from work done in the next door bathroom.
Katie H.

We hired Done Right to remodel our two bathrooms and replace 3 windows (they were leaking when it rained). This project took approximately 7 months to complete (way way longer than it should have taken) This project was a nightmare with lots of headaches, hassles, mistakes and dissatisfaction. They started the job end of May 2023 and they did not finish until February 2024. Poor workmanship, poor quality of work, too many people to go through with lots of miscommunication. -Wrong-color drain -Sink-wrong size -broken sink -broken medicine cabinet -shower head-missing nob -Tiles-shortage -Tiles-wrong color -Cabinets-switch colors -Shampoo Niche-wrong size -Grout-cracking -Shower doors-leaking -Windows-leaking (they did not fix the problem that we had in the first place) -Tube-squeaky. -Cut a hole in downstairs ceiling for inspector to see because they covered up the pipes before the inspection. And instead of undoing it they decided to cut a hole in our ceiling. Water leaking from upstairs remodel bathroom to downstairs ceiling Tile-scratched and chipped It's only been 5 months and we have had numerous problems already. The bathrooms are falling apart and the windows are still leaking water and unleveled. I wish I had read David G. review before I started work with Done Right. Everything David G. says is true, they make it sound like everything is going to go smoothly, and they will be on top of everything. No, they definitely were not on top of everything and nothing went smoothly. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

We worked with Done Right for our bathroom remodel and are so happy with how it turned out. Avi and Joey were sweet and responsive project managers and all of their crews were kind and top notch, especially their tiler. As always, construction is wearing and we recommend you ask questions about timeline, process, budgets etc at every step of the way -- but we're so thrilled with the final result. We plan to work with them again for our kitchen reno and any future projects.

Don't consider this company! Quality of workmanship is substandard as well attention to detail being poor. Overall dissatisfaction validated time and time again.

I considered multiple contractors from which I selected Alon Mizrachi from Done Right. Alon listened well and came up with a great new kitchen design using his in-house designer Meital. Throughout the project, Alon was very responsive and proved to be a master problem solver. I recommend requesting Alon if you call Done Right for a quote.

After procrastinating far too long I finally decided in late 2019 to remodel my home's three bathrooms. The Master Bathroom's layout was a terrible use of space and needed to be completely redesigned. I needed to move the shower to another wall, and seal off the entrance to the closet and relocate it into the Master Bedroom. The downstairs guest bathroom (tub/shower) and upstairs powder room needed a full redo with everything located in the same location. I've done three major projects since buying this house and all contractors were problematic. So this time I had a strategy. I started with the direct mail catalogs I found in my mailbox and cross-checked with reviews on Yelp. I only kept the companies with 4 stars or better and over 50 reviews, resulting in 8 on-site visits for estimates. After a few weeks I had a clear decision - Eli from Done Right Home Remodelling won my business for a few key reasons. Eli was very attentive and really listened (unlike others). Eli was the only person who wanted to see the basement to understand how the plumbing was laid out. His hands-on knowledge of the process was reassuring, offering a lot of great suggestions and advice such as staying in the house and not getting a rental. I could move out of the Master Bedroom and into the Guest Bedroom while they did the Maser Bath and Closet, then swap back into the master while they did the other bathrooms. He explained that it would only add 4-6 weeks onto the timeline and would save me a significant amount of money while being able to keep daily tabs on the progress. When Eli finished with the survey I expected him to give me the estimate on the spot as the other contractors did. He explained that he needed to go back to his office to run the numbers correctly and make sure everything was line-itemed correctly, a practice I do in my service based company. This was the final detail that sealed the deal. Eli and I were on the same page with process, and his itemized numbers aligned in the median of the other estimates. And luckily he had an opening to begin the work right after the new year. So it was a no-brainer. We were on. My day job consists of CG modelling and rendering, so I spent time designing the Master Bathroom in 3D down to the millimeter. I had a photo-realistic printout of the rendering hanging on the bathroom window for Eli and Uslises, his "Master Craftsman", who led the team. I was really picky with this design, and Ulises was more than happy to make sure everything was done to perfection. The 24" tiles on the floor (matte) and shower walls (glossy) were perfectly matched to my blueprint. Eli coordinated the glass installation with his glass expert who did a fantastic job with the minimalistic frameless execution, as well as provided the large custom floating mirror for the vanity, custom built by Hesti Cabinet in SF. The result looks shockingly close to the renderings as you can see in the attached photos. Once the project got underway, it became evident that the water pipes in my house were corroding due to my close proximity to the ocean. Since walls were getting opened and I was already in the thick of it, I figured it was as good a time as any to fix this inevitable problem. As soon as the Master Bathroom was complete, the re-piping team swept into the rest of the house (4 stories/2 structures) for the weekend while I escaped to an AirBnB. This was the only time during the entire project that I needed to leave the house. The last two bathrooms were on schedule to be "quickly" done in parallel, but we got hit by COVID-19. The team continued working but slimmed down for social distancing, and were always very respectful of my personal space as I transitioned to working from home. Materials became harder to source, some taking a month to arrive. Fortunately Eli and Ulises were extremely flexible dealing with this along with the insanity of the city permitting and inspection departments during a pandemic. They wrapped up the bathrooms, then finally doors for the Master bath and closet were designed by Pacific Shoji Works and installed. Throughout this insane project Eli kept a cool head, always keeping me in the loop with their progress and plans. I loved the fact that this was a very consistent team. And unlike past experiences, there was not a sense of fear or tension between the workers and the project managers. They all worked together like passionate artisans taking pride in each other's work. Hearing their laughter coming through the walls says a lot about Ulises and Eli as leaders. Obviously I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend Eli, Ulises, and Done Right Home Remodeling. They truly made it an amazing experience and delivered fantastic results. I can't thank them enough.

I've contacted Done Right two separate occasions for tiny projects, unrelated to what they've already worked on at our home, looking for plumbing/electrical recommendations (a leak in our guest bathroom and an outlet without power). They sent someone out and fixed both right away! They certainly could have not responded or sent us on our way with recommendations, but they replied within minutes and came out next day to fix. We supplied parts and they fixed at no cost! We've worked with other construction companies and the customer service drops out once projects are complete, but not Done Right! They are always quick to respond and willing to help! That's what you want from a construction company! Very happy and very impressed! My husband and I definitely recommend working with Jerry & Luis at Done Right!

They aren't the cheapest out there, but once you see the work they do, it's almost a bargain. I did my research and wanted to find something in the middle- quality without excess. I found these guys. My project manager, Elijah was a total professional and also happens to be a real nice human being. His crew is even better (sorry, Eli). They listened and wanted my input. I grew to trust them quickly and started asking for their opinions about various things along the way to help me decide what to do. As stressful at it is to have people in your house everyday making lots of noise for weeks, I'm actually going to miss these guys. I will definitely hire them in future. I already have new projects in mind, and once the money is there, I'll pick up the phone and get to see my new friends again.

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

The entire crew was a pleasure to work with--a special shoutout to Johan (their master plumber and electrician) and his brother for their outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail. The communication, timeliness, and finish quality was just not there with our project…read more I'm not sure if this is because of a deficiency in project management, or because of the poor contracting. From the beginning, we were never given a good sense of timeline and when parts of the project were to be completed. Contractors would not show up on days when we were told they would come, and they would randomly show up on days where we were not given any warning and we had to be at work. The contractors that came to spray texture on the walls showed up at 7pm on a Friday night. We felt bad they had traveled so far and so late, but amazed that nobody had thought to communicate their arrival to us. Because the contractors would show up at random times and complete random parts of the project, we were always being forced to rush order parts that we didn't have on hand. This included a dishwasher air gap, a garbage disposal, and the cabinet handles. As professionals, why wouldn't they have a list of required finishes for all their customers? There were also just other instances of poor management. They miscalculated how much slab we needed, so they charged us extra for that as well. The handles on the cabinets were badly misaligned, and looked like nobody had measured the distances to the edges of the cabinets. We had to ask for this to be fixed. There was a missing finished edge on the cabinet end by the dishwasher, which we also had to ask to be fixed. We had to ask for so many basic things like having our window screen reinstalled and the window lock reattached 2 weeks AFTER the final inspection passed. If the final inspection is done already, there's no more excuses for delays in finishing a project. There was no final walkthrough once everything was done. We just noticed that one of the cabinet faces has a huge scratched up area where it looks like someone colored it in with a crayon. Shouldn't this sort of damage be disclosed to your customer without us having to scrutinize? In conclusion, if you look at the work from a distance, it's up to code and done fine. The whole experience has been so dragged out, however, that at this point we can't even be bothered with calling out the weird crayon thing.

We were…read morenervous hearing so many personal stories of architects, designers and builders not working well together or getting ghosted by them, so it was important for us to find an all-in-one shop for our build, which is why we picked GV. We knew this was going to be a monumental project, and it certainly was, as it took over 3+ years due to various city and HOA approval delays. Every construction project had its fair share of challenges, delays, and last-minute changes, but we are so pleased with the final outcome and thankful that GV was our partner through it. A few key highlights from our build: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN: We unexpectedly ran into numerous challenges and roadblocks during our approval process, but it was the fantastic architectural design that saved us and managed to meet or exceed all of the city requirements. OPEN COMMUNICATION: GV set up a group WhatsApp chat for us that included the owners and every key staff member working on our project. We could utilize it 24/7 for questions, comments and decisions. COORDINATION & SOURCING: We wanted a builder that could handle primary management with all our vendors when it came to delivery timing and especially if there were product issues. GV took the lead in coordinating closely with external suppliers (whether they were recommended by GV or not) to receive, store and install all of the fixtures and finishes. GV never pressured us to use their recommended vendors, although in a few instance, their close relationships helped with not only pricing, but quick follow-ups with any product related issues or replacements. PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT & ONSITE MEETINGS: Huge shout-out to Barry Hahn (our production manager and lead) and the onsite crew (led by Freddie and Fernando) who MET WITH US WEEKLY onsite to provide updates. We always knew what they were working on and if they needed a decision from us, we could come see it for ourselves. We didn't always know the best decision immediately, but the team was patient, explaining and showing us all the options and the factors we should consider. WORKMANSHIP: GV takes pride in doing things right and to the highest quality. One example is when we were going through the home after it was painted and highlighting areas for touch up, our production manager came in over the weekend on his own and identifed even MORE areas than we did. In other words, GV doesn't try to take shortcuts or accept "good-enough" work. No construction project is ever perfect, but GV strives to ensure their workmanship is top-notch. -------------------------------------------------------- Building a brand-new home is always a long journey, but Golden View Renovation proved to be reliable, honest, and skilled professionals who genuinely care about the quality of their work.
