Didn't finish the job and threw away our remnants…read more We hired R&S Marble in Livermore to fabricate and install countertops using granite remnants we provided. While the craftsmanship and final installation were excellent, the experience was soured by how our materials were handled, and that they never finished the job. We specifically requested--clearly and in writing--that all remnants and offcuts be kept and returned to us. Despite this, they were discarded without notice. These were our materials, and this decision was made without our consent. Communication was poor and when we brought up our concerns, the response lacked accountability. If you choose to work with R&S, be very specific about expectations and follow up frequently. The quality of work is there, but respect for customer property and agreements was unfortunately not.

He took the time to show us the granite slabs on site and explained the differences between various types of granite and other countertop materials, including how direct sunlight can affect them in an outdoor setting. What impressed us most was how patient he was throughout the process. It took us quite a while to find a slab that we truly loved, and he never rushed us. In fact, he encouraged us to be picky and take our time selecting the right slab. He even suggested that we visit several granite suppliers. The slab we selected from a different supplier had quite a few natural fissures, and the supplier even warned us that it would require a very experienced fabricator to prevent cracking. When we mentioned that Sosa would be handling the fabrication, he immediately reassured us that we had nothing to worry about because of their expertise and reputation. After we chose our slab, Mario arranged for it to be delivered to Sosa for fabrication. The slab was slightly smaller than ideal, but Sosa carefully planned the layout to ensure everything would fit for our countertop. Before fabrication, Mario Jr. personally called us and invited us to review the layout, which gave us an idea of how our final countertop would look. Within two weeks, our granite countertop was fabricated and installed. The workmanship was excellent, the seams lined up perfectly, and the final result exceeded our expectations. We are extremely happy with the level of customer service we received. I was very nervous to trust such an important job to…read moresomeone I found on Yelp but I had asked around and could not find anybody to do what I wanted to fix my cabinets. They all wanted to just paint them. I wanted them restored to the original finish if at all possible. We paid a lot for these custom cabinets 20yrs ago and really wanted them to be restored to look the same. Michael came out to look at them and told me he has never tried to do work like this before but he was willing to try and felt pretty confident he could do it. If we didn't like it we could always paint them after. It was a risk I decided I wanted to take. We could not wait any longer. 2 of our most used cabinets were severely damaged with water damage - one from a hand towel that had been hanging on it for 20 yrs that would often get damp from hand washing and the other our silverware drawer. They removed all of the damaged cabinet & drawer doors (leaving behind about half of them that had no damage as they were less often used and still looked brand new) and took them to their shop in Livermore. This made the job much harder as they then had to match the color to our existing ones. In addition our kitchen has 2 different paint colors so they had to create 2 different finishes - one a stain and one a paint. Linda, an employee of Michael was in charge of the painting and stain work and the artist who did the work on my cabinets in their factory. She showed us photos along the way and then came back out to reinstall the doors plus also repair the water damage we had on baseboards and cabinet sides that weren't able to be removed. She taped everything off in our kitchen to prep and then spent 2 days refinishing all of the rest of the damage. She was very careful and caused zero problems anywhere around her work. The finished product was absolutely 5 stars - could not have gone any better. I have delayed for way too long giving Michael and Linda credit for the work she did but the benefit to that is that I can now say after over a year (finished Sept 2024) of having the refinished cabinets in my kitchen they have held up perfectly and still all look absolutely brand new (helps not having kids living at home anymore!) I would 100% recommend you to trust Michael and his team to be honest, hard working and skilled crafts people for your cabinets. IRG was the first and last stone slab yard I visited in search for my perfect kitchen countertops…read more After visiting seven places in the East Bay, I picked up three quartzite slabs here. My search started with looking for porcelain slabs and not every slab yard carries such. IRG had the largest selection, however I quickly learned that like quartz, porcelain slabs are manufactured in sizes up to about five feet wide which would require me to have a seam between two slabs to cover my kitchen island. So I went to quartzite as my targeted slab for the size, variety of natural stone design, and it is heat tolerant. IRG offered great service both on the phone and in person. You need to make an appointment to visit their slab warehouse, however, this was never a problem for me and they were always accomodating and able to be flexible with day of changes. Their variety of porcelain, quartzite and other natural stone is quite plentiful. They have another location in Brisbane, so there is quite a huge selection in inventory between the two locations. Their retail prices are most competitive. Be sure to work with a fabricator who can most likely be able to get you a discounted price. IRG allows either you to pay for the slabs directly to them or your fabricator can make the payment on your behalf. It won't be until about a month when my countertops are installed. I can't wait to have my beautiful new kitchen! I highly recommend anyone looking to remodel with beautiful countertops to check out IRG. In the end, while the retail price of my swabs were the least expensive, the discounted price of the ones I selected were not released but very competitive. I chose IRG because the particular quartzites I chose was most appealing and design. These are natural stones and so you will not have an exact identical slab between different places.

ESPECIALLY when people are spending thousands they want someone they can trust. Thank goodness we found out how you conduct business. We know where we will not be buying our stone from now after this 4th interaction. LET ME FIRST SAY AS WELL, OUR VERY FIRST VISIT OF THIS PLACE THEY WEARNT OPEN ON THE TIME THAT SHOWS ON THE DOOR WE WERE WAITING OUTSIDE FOR SOMEONE TO OPEN AND NO ONE WAS THERE WE WAITED ALMOST 20 min after and someone finally came to open the store. Only to find out they never delivered it!! I even told the owner you think you would have had a paper on the stone of the delivery date where it's going and she said it's in there systems. Well ma'am your system isn't working for you. How did you not see a SOLD stone SITTING THERE that was suppose to be delivered months ago? Is this someone you want to do business with? AGAIN, WONT BE BACK AFTER THE MULTIPLE TIMES OF UNPROFESSIONALISM AND UNORGANIZED BUSINESS WHEN SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I WANT A BUSINESS THAT HAS THERE STUFF TOGETHER AND I CAN TRUST! You didn't care and informed me I had two choices to choose from. Either refund after months of our slab being paid for or delivery Monday. Those were the choices you gave me and said I had to choose from after everything. I will include receipts just to show you and others timeline that my review is as presented. Went in 4/20/26 picked out our slab after driving back and forth to both of your warehouses that day. Thought we needed two slabs, contractor told us 5/5/26 only needed one. Called LRG and paid in full for the one slab 5/6/26. Even tho we were told we only needed to pay a percentage we paid in full bc we were ready for delivery. Spoke to fabricator and LRG stone and scheduled a delivery date on 5/7/27. (The day we decided who our fabricator was invoice from fabricator was sent and we called and confirmed the delivery date on 5/14/26 a day prior to when it was suppose to be delivered 5/15/26 and it was confirmed.) Assumed your company did their job and it was delivered and ready to go. Did not think we needed to check again and call months later like you had the audacity to say to me to see if your company did their job as we already confirmed a day prior to the set delivery date. Our fabricator went on vacation and was booked up thinking he had the slab in his possession bc he informed us he confirmed with you guys as well. Had appts with him on the slab that was suppose to have been delivered that then got rescheduled again still thinking he had it in his possession bc why would we have an appt if slab wasn't in his possession. To have a meeting with him today 7/31/26 on how we want it cut to find out by surprise from him and us it wasn't even delivered 5/15/26. The fabricator was surprised as us bc they informed us they confirmed in May the delivery as well. That is pretty accurate you and your team ignored a SOLD/PAID for slab that was sitting there that should have been delivered in May when we paid invoices and confirmed delivery dates. We're highly disappointed Jogreet.

She spent a lot of time with us and brought forth a wealth of design experience and our end result was beyond what we had hoped for. Christina listened carefully to what was important to us, took the time to educate us, make suggestions, and guided us to the right cabinets at the right price. She also was great at paying attention to important details that we would never have thought of. Our cabinets were delivered when promised. Christina showed up at our home on delivery day to make sure everything was there, unloaded properly and undamaged. She referred us to an expert installer who was equally professional, very seasoned, great at communication, and most importantly provided a high-quality installation in a timely fashion. If you are serious about having quality cabinets and great results, I would highly recommend DVC!

We ordered cabinets from Diablo Valley Cabinetry in May and were told they should arrive the middle…read moreof October. No problem since I was doing the remodel myself and needed the time to be ready for them. Having heard nothing by late November though I called to check on their status. They said "they are not that late because they were due the middle of November. Wrong. They were due the middle of October. But I let that put-off slide and continued to wait. Still no call or explanation from the store. Finally, three months late, with still no apology or explanation from the store, the cabinets arrived the middle of January. The truck driver was supposed to notify the store that they were on the way with the delivery, but he failed to do so. No big problem there. As the boxes were carried in my wife checked off the box numbers against the shipping manifest and all of the boxes were there with numbers that matched the manifest. We now had 45 large boxes crammed into an eight-foot-wide small kitchen and stacked on top of each other. A few shipping labels were facing out, but most were understandably hidden behind and under other boxes. But other than being three months late with no explanation, this is where the screw-ups began in earnest. I notified the store that the cabinets were here, and the project manager, Yvette, came by a couple of hours later. We were handed two sets of installation instructions, one set for us and one for the installer. I had no chance to look at the instructions and Yvette didn't compare them to the shipping manifest before leaving even though we all stood amongst the boxes with shipping manifest in one hand and installation instructions in the other. After she left, I opened the instructions. The cabinets were all shown on a schematic with big red numbered boxes identifying each cabinet and its proper placement for installation. Out of 45 boxes NOT ONE NUMBER MATCHED THE SHIPPING MANIFEST. Before installation could even begin, this 78-year-old man was forced to crawl among boxes, finding shipping labels and part numbers to correctly correlate the box numbers to the mislabeled installation instructions. It was a time-consuming and back-breaking job which required several hours to complete. The next day I called the store and asked to speak to the owner to see if he would be willing to compensate in some way since they still had our deposit for counter tops to be ordered when the cabinet installation was complete. I have no major complaint with Yvette or other store staff that we dealt with over the last six months. Delays and mistakes happen. But when I spoke with Frank, the owner/president of Diablo Valley Cabinetry, his attitude was too bad, so sad. He wouldn't even apologize for the delays and major errors in the installation instructions, let alone agree to even modest compensation. At no point did he ever really apologize for the delays and errors that were made in this deal and refused to take any responsibility for the company that he owns and operates. He also told me that he would find out why there was such a long delay and how the installation instructions were so wrong and get back to me with answers. He never did. When I politely suggested we would take our $4,000 countertop deposit and go elsewhere he told me they would keep $610 of it because the material had already been secured. We were forced to stay with them or forfeit the $610. And they still weren't done with their costly and time-consuming errors! I was told to put down 3/4 inch plywood in advance of the countertop company coming out to measure and prepare the template. No problem, that part was my job. So a friend and I, since plywood is heavy and a two-man job, spent half a day buying, transporting, cutting and installing the plywood. Then when ROMARTS MARBLE & GRANITE, a subcontractor of Diablo Valley Cabinetry and a great company to do business with by the way, showed up I was told that our plywood had to be at least one inch thick instead of the 3/4 inch that Diablo Valley Cabinetry mistakenly told me. Back to Home Depot with my friend to buy plywood to transport, cut and install on top of the 3/4 inch. More wasted expense, time and work. A company is only as good as its management. In this case the management refuses to take responsibility for any of the mistakes made by the employees. This post will not surprise Frank because I told him I was going to write it. I waited until now because as I type it the countertop installers are here and putting in the countertops. ROMARTS has done a great job with the countertops and the owner himself spent 1 1/2 hours with my wife and me in laying out not one, but two design options for us to choose from. I would suggest dealing directly with them and bypassing Diablo Valley Cabinetry altogether.
