Duy and his team were amazing. Spoke with Duy a couple of months ago and requested for an estimate to do hardwood/laminate floor for the entire house. After Duy provided an estimate, I told him that it would be at least a couple of months before we move forward with the project. Duy simply said okay and did not pressure me into doing the project right away. He was professional and followed up with me shortly thereafter, simply saying to call him if I had any additional questions. Because of Duy's professionalism and honestly, my mom and I decided to move forward with the project sooner than we had anticipated. When I finally reached out to Duy about moving forward with the project, things moved quickly and the company finished the project ON TIME. The flooring is amazing!!! We're not only happy with the floor, but we're also happy with how much we spent. I highly recommend this company. It's rare nowadays to find good people like Duy and his team. Thank you so much - I wish you more business and success! Stay honest, professional, and competitive. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Duy! You guys are amazing. read more

Would highly recommend Duy and Unique Hardwood Floors for whatever flooring job you need. Duy is extremely responsive and detailed and is very easy to work with. His team did a fantastic job removing existing laminate planks, replacing many pieces of very damaged/moldy subfloor and installing new SPC flooring. While the job took longer than expected due to the damage, the team was still able to install my floor sooner than expected considering how much damage there was. I was appreciative that Duy did not sugarcoat how bad the subfloor was and did not try to cover up any mold or damage. Duy made it clear that it needed to be removed. His team is detailed and did not cut any corners. Will definitely hire him for any future flooring needs. read more

Unfortunately, I had a deeply dissatisfactory experience with Unique Hardwood Floors. After finding them on Yelp, I contracted with Duy to refinish the hardwood floors in my home. After the work was completed, my wife and I noticed a number of quality issues, the most concerning and still unresolved of which is that there are hundreds of nail holes and divots that have un-dried and un-cured oil and filler. When we walk on the floors, we can feel stickiness on our socks due to these deficiencies. Federico, one of Duy's employees, attempted to address the issue by buffing the floors and adding another coat of oil, but this did not resolve it. Today, the issues persist, and we are still not moved back into the home. I was forced to find another contractor, who came and evaluated the floors. The evaluation confirmed the quality deficiencies and revealed that the best way to resolve the work deficiencies was to completely re-do the impacted floors: by re-sanding and re-finishing them. We now are paying another contractor to fix the flooring. When I informed Duy that this was the manner in which we'd be proceeding--and that we'd like to work with him to obtain a refund to cover our financial damages--he categorically refused. I certainly wish that our project with Duy ended more positively, but I cannot in good conscience recommend his company as a flooring contractor. read more

I hired Unique Hardwood Floors for a floor installation job. We wanted to get rid of our original carpet with LVP. Materials were provided by me with the exception of underlayment. Nearly every aspect of the job was discussed over the phone. A very important lesson - Do Not discuss a job over phone or internet only, an in-person measurement is essential. I appreciate Duy for finding a quick appointment, but I'm quite disappointed with his post-project experience. Finished work would have looked more professional with proper sealant work all around the joints. His crew didn't knew how to install a popular T-molding from the HomeDepot. I had to search installation videos and show it to the crew. Some other project details - $500 for carpet removal, $600 for underlayment and $3/sq ft for labor. read more

I picked Unique Hardwood floors because they are quick, flexible and they are fair. They are willing to work around my schedule and would charge fairly if you miss a schedule due to unforeseen events. But they can quickly picked up where they left off and start couple of days later. They do take care of you. Thanks Duy read more

We recently had Unique Hardwood Floors come and repair and refinish our floors. They repaired a small patch of flooring for us, then bleached and refinished to match throughout our house. They worked with us on choosing the right finish and color. They did an AMAZING job. From start to finish I was in communication with Duy and his foreman. We coordinated start and finish dates with my busy schedule and all without a hitch. Highly recommend UHF! read more

An update for the stairs repair Duy responded promptly to my request and had the new riser board made by the subcontractor the next day, Friday 2/21. Duy came and got it installed a couple days later on the 2/26 - mostly due to my side of scheduling difficulty (Duy was ready to install it on Monday 2/24). The board is solid 1/4 inch thick, a lot more stronger! During installation Duy had to go back to the subcontractor to bend the board for the curved corner part. The end product is very good! The board is absolutely solid. Sturdy and strong, I think it's installed right against the backing board. I am confident there won't be any issues with the board breaking in the future. Thank you very much for the quick fix. Great work! read more

We had a badly scratched and stained hardwood floor. Duy was quick to respond and very communicative. His crew did a wonderful job and were very pleasant to work with. Federico was the best - skilled and friendly. They arrived exactly on time, without complaint carried the heavy equipment up to the third floor, and did an efficient and thorough job of sanding with almost no dust. They also did a few small repair jobs a requested. The final result is just beautiful. I hate to put my furniture back on it! And to top it off, Duy offered, by far, the lowest estimate. I highly recommend Duy and his company. Before and after pictures are below. read more

Duy was very responsive and professional throughout the process, from initial estimate through the finish. They did a waterbase coat with a stain finish to our hardwood oak floors and also re-stained our handrail banister with a black stain gel with a stain finish. We received estimates from several businesses and their pricing is fair and competitive for the market rate in the area. There were some touch ups that were required upon completion with the banister handrail but they were prompt with addressing that. Overall, we're very pleased with the floor and banister work and would recommend Unique Hardwood for your refinishing needs. read more

Unique Hardwood Floors - Flooring I got installed - Flooring Near Me - Concord, California

We had a built-in bookcase removed from a bedroom, unfortunately the flooring had been brought up to the bookcase, not under it. This left us with a weird, wall-length row of open space that needed new flooring put in. I did not want to re-sand the whole floor, which I knew would be tricky. Unique came over and gave a competitive bid; understanding what I wanted to accomplish - match the existing flooring, sand it to the level of the existing floor, and match the finish (which had been previously hand mixed). The Unique team showed up on time, was respectful of our house (laid out floor and carpet protection), completed the job quickly - even dealing with an unexpected floor leveling issue. The job came out great - you can't tell where the bookcase ended and the flooring began. Very satisfied. read more

I contacted Duy at Unique Hardwood Floors to update my flooring of a rental unit. We decided on LVP over sanding the old hardwood to add some noise insulation. He provided a fair quote and a clear proposal to know what to expect. His team had an opening and I was able to schedule my service within a week. They handled all the curveballs- slightly uneven subfloor, tucking the LVP in under the baseboards, etc. brilliantly. Will work with their flooring team again! read more

I couldn't be more thrilled with the work Duy and his employees did on my floors. I recently purchased our forever home and needed our floors to be sanded and stained. From start to finish, they were very professional and efficient. They helped me choose the perfect stain and color as I wanted my floors to look natural but with a tint of color with the lighting in our house and the results came out more beautiful then I can imagine. The staff were very nice and respectful of my home, and took great care in sanding, staining and finishing everything in a timely manner. I wanted them to help with sanding my hand rails to match the floor and they did it right away and it looks perfect. Our experience with Duy and Unique Hardwood Floors was quick, painless, professional, and the floors look amazing. Duy was fast to respond, to send out an estimate, and also quoted the lowest out of all the other contractors. We had shag carpet on top of 60 year old oak hardwood floor. Not only was the floor uneven, it also had stains from the previous owner. Duy gave us options and was patient as we had to pivot from our original request while we made a decision. The end product looks so good, you hardly recognize that the floor had stains, paint, and so many imperfections! read more

Found Unique Hardwood on yelp. They helped with carpet removal and installation of LVP which we procured from homedepot. Here were our pro's and con's. Pro's: Quick response time, available to complete the job within a week, adapted to our design choice, installed the LVP and baseboards across the home on time and the quoted budget. Con's: We were disappointed that no leveling was done prior to install of the LVP and we were not told it was needed. We are left with uneven flooring and need to pay more to get it fixed. Overall, you will need to make sure you know something about flooring to ensure all aspects are covered, but if do know about flooring, and you need someone to come in and get it done these are the guys for the job. read more

Duy and his crew were so incredible it's a little difficult to start this review. First of all Duy is very professional, honest and prices his work reasonably especially to the quality of work performed by him and his team. We had flooring work completed on a few rooms in our house and also had our stairs re-stained. We had several surprises that were discovered under our various floors but nothing was too difficult or overly expensive for the team. Our flooring is beautiful and matches our rooms wonderfully. I contacted several floor installers, and Unique Hardwood Floors responded immediately. Duy could accommodate my strict schedule, offering an estimate on a Saturday, as I still had tenants in the house, and that was the only time available to them. To add to the challenge, I wanted to start the project just one week later, and it was far from a small task with a 1700 sq. ft. floor installation. From the day Duy came by, he was highly responsive, assisting me in choosing the vinyl plank brand and quickly providing the estimate by Monday (I selected the Gaia Red Series Riva). As is often the case, there were several obstacles, including a sloping floor--yikes! But Duy and his crew were able to work around these issues, being always communicative along the way. I especially appreciated that the crew worked on the weekend to expedite the project, ensuring it was completed on time, as I had painters scheduled for the following week. In the end, the floors looked great, and the price was competitive as well. read more
