This is a late post since the work got done back in Lat November, early December. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the work JV Cabinets did in my kitchen. It was night and day within 4 1/2 days! I was planning to do an whole new remodel on my kitchen, but I actually like the layout of my kitchen so we decided to reface the cabinets and replace the counters. It started with Andy initially coming into our home and giving us a estimate. He had great ideas and really worked with us within our budget. We usually don't sign across the dotted line, but we felt so comfortable that we jumped right in! Then Jaime came in after a week to check the measurements. He gave us even better ideas and worked with us in price to add some other minor details. He is also responsive and willing to make the customer happy! Then the actual work started. They were always on time, clean, professional, took Covid precautions, asked us about what we thought during the whole process. JV Cabinets helped me reface my kitchen cabinets, and I could not be happier with the work they did. The process began with Andy, their consultant. Andy came out to my house to show me samples, and he was so energetic and patient. He made sure to stay in touch during the whole process and would call/text me to ensure that I was happy with everything. He was extremely knowledgeable at the products they had to offer and continued to bring more samples out of his car when he saw that I didn't completely like what I saw. Next was the carpenter, Jaime, who would be the main point-person for the rest of the process. Jaime came out after I had selected the cabinets I wanted and made measurements of my current cabinets so that he could order the products. He took his time with the measurements, drawing out everything and asking me about what changes I wanted to make. He was great at making recommendations on how to make the kitchen look more modern and added different components, such as a pull-out spice rack and pull-out drawers from the pantry. The hardest part was waiting for the cabinets to arrive! The cabinets are customized and take time to make, as some parts come from Italy. When it seemed as if the cabinets would take longer than predicted to arrive, Jaime immediately reached out to the manufacturers and managed to have them rush the shipping and overnight certain items so that he and his team could start the installation process and finish before I had to leave the country. Jaime and his crew did such an amazing job during the installation. They were respectful of my home and time, and only took one and a half days to complete. Jaime was there the whole time to direct, and he continued to stay in touch with me after to ensure that I was happy with their work. He even came back on a separate day when I asked him to help me drill a hole in the cabinets to run a wire through. I am absolutely in love with my refaced cabinets. JV Cabinets really did a wonderful job, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to reface their cabinets. The wife and I started to research kitchen cabinet remodeling early in January. We set out to get as many vendors to our home for quotes on either refacing or new cabinets. We had several major vendors cone through our home with very high quotes but limited offerings on the style and color of cabinets for refacing. One vendor in particular was really pushy with selling their product and services by giving me a deadline to accept the contract with fear of losing on a discount. That was annoying to be honest as the last thing I want to do is get pressured into spending 20K+ lol. That said, I was fortunate to have stumbled onto JV Cabinets! They beat the refacing quotes by about 30% AND more importantly had the selection of styles and color for the cabinets and door pulls that we loved. We couldn't be anymore happier with the end results. It starts with Jorge leading the sales pitch and working with us on the pricing along with all the business communications. That was an outstanding experience given I was not rushed or pushed to commit at all. Kudos to Jorge for that . We waited about 4-6 weeks for our order to come in and scheduled the work with Jaime. This review is long overdue! I contacted JV Cabinets as we were looking to get our cabinets updated & re-configured to get the most space out of a small kitchen. The current setup forced us to use a short & deep fridge as well as a number of cabinets that were impossible to utilize due to poor design. I spoke to a number of contractors and the amount of money we were being quoted just didn't' make sense given the size of our kitchen. Additionally, we were trying to stick with a budge that would ensure we'd see a good return on our investment! Our initial consult was with Andy and he did a very good job listening to our concerns and helping us put together a solid game plan to accomplish everything we wanted with the project. After our consult Andy gave us a number that included all the work we needed which included all cabinet work, demo as well as installation of all the new countertops and backsplash. The number was a bit higher than when we initially talked but we also added in a ton of more countertop and backsplash. Even with the higher number it was still very reasonable and I enjoyed having ONE point of contact for all my questions / issues. Sure you could have found a number of subs to do the other work to save a buck or two but our time is a lot more valuable and again I wanted to have one person to call if we had issues. Towards the end of the job, there were a couple issues with the backsplash / counters and one call to Jaime had the issue resolved within an hour. Once we accepted the job, we had the same 8-10 week lead time that others have mentioned. It was definitely hard waiting that long as we hated our current kitchen so much but it did pass by very fast and gave us time to get all our appliances ordered and here ahead of the job. Once everything was here for our job, Jaime reached out and setup the start date for our job. The guys showed up the first day and quickly put down stuff to protect our floors and other parts of the home. Our entire project was done within 5-7 days just like they quoted us. Day # 1 - The demo was very fast and by the end of the first day they had already pretty much reconfigured our cabinets and had everything ready for the counter tops. Day #2-3, the guys refaced the cabinets and did a lot of finishing work. I was amazed at how good the transformation was already looking. Day #4-5 - counters / backsplash Day #6-7 - finishing work, new rollouts installed, lazy Susans, new hardware There were a couple outstanding issues after the main work was done that they came back and took care of quickly so that was another plus. They even came back 2-3 weeks after the job was complete to make sure the final setup was good to go. Our appliances ended up taking much longer than we thought. Even so, JV cabinets was willing to come back later once they were all here to tie up all the loose ends and any concerns. I would definitely recommend JV cabinets as their work is impeccable. We started with the kitchen design with 3D images of what the kitchen would look like. Jaime did an amazing job bringing all my functional kitchen requirements to life with a beautiful design and seeing them in 3D made me feel confident to move forward. Jaime is not only an amazing craftsman, he also has an excellent design eye, which is hard to come by. He helped me make so many design decisions with both function and aesthetic in mind. He was so thorough with all the details from the dimensions of the room, to all the appliances, the electrical, plumbing, lighting, the countertops and tile, and in the end, it made it so worth while because it came out beautifully. I really valued his years of experience. As for the installation, it went very smoothly. The crew was amazing. They kept everything clean and tried to minimize the dust and dirt outside the kitchen. As for the craftsmanship, it was top notch! I am super happy with the quality of the cabinets, doors, hardware, soft close hinges, adjustable shelving, etc and feel like it will look beautiful for a long time. I feel like for the cost, I got a great value and am very happy with the result! Well, this took me a long time to write because it took me nearly a year to finally get my appliances in. Anyway, I can't compare these guys to anyone else because I've never had cabinet refacing done before, but it would be hard to believe that it could get any better than this. The work was outstanding on everything they touched and I'm am so happy with the outcome. But just as important, if not more, was the level of service. Everyone in their crew was a joy to work with and incredibly responsive. They never left us in the dark on anything and had a nearly miraculous ability to address problems on the spot. We had one problem with a style of hinge on a double folding cabinet door and I imagined they would have to come and take it out and bring it back to the shop to rebuild. But no. Jaime showed up within a couple days and did a hinge refit right in the back of his work van and had them back up in about an hour! Like most people I usually don't care to have contractors in my house, but these guys showed an incredibly high sensitivity to that fact and were extremely easy to have around as they moved quickly through a very well planned and executed job. We even had some sliding drawers added to a cabinet after the job was long done because we 3liked the work they did adding sliding drawers on another cabinet (what a joy!). All I had to do was tell them which cabinet I wanted done and they ordered everything needed without needing to know more because they still had all the original measurements! And best of all, they listened closely to what we wanted and even expanded my kitchen space by moving a cabinet out about a foot. The only thing I would suggest is that you may want to use contractors that you know and are happy with to do work that JV doesn't do themselves (they will bring in subcontractors for floors, plumbing, electrical, etc. if needed). So happy we chose this company! This was such an easy process to update our kitchen because this family owned business is the best. Andy, the salesman/designer, met with us first to go over the process and look at our kitchen. He explained everything thoroughly and is an upbeat and very friendly guy. We paid the deposit set the date to start the job and they were clear about the items we needed to have available for demo (new sinks mainly). I selected the quartzite and tile at a local place, and JV paid for and picked it up for our job. Once they started, Jaime, Jaime Jr and crew were FAST-incredible how much they got done each day. Every step happened exactly when they said it would and it was done in 7 days, including the final walkthrough. I went with JV Cabinets because of the great reviews. I'm very glad I did, but I can't give them 5 stars. The good: EXCELLENT quality materials. I had my kitchen cabinets refaced and I love them. Workmanship on these is wonderful. I also love the quartz counter top. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant ... none of the usual contractor frustrations with the installers and/or coordinators. There was a scheduling glitch that was slightly irritating that extended the job by a week ... but that's the way construction goes. The not so good: The old sink faucet, tubing etc was left in the lower cabinet, which was fine until later it began leaking and flooded the kitchen floor. The water was turned off but the plumber thinks the weight of the hardware strained the angle stops, causing them to leak. It took me a couple of days to get it contained while I awaited the plumber. The back splash on the stove wall had to be re-done ... another few days added on. They tore up my linoleum floor pretty badly while moving appliances. Not a major problem since I'm putting in new flooring, but more work for me to patch it up so I can lay the LVP flooring over top. I suppose the most unexpected and irritating issue discovered when I started painting was that the top of the counter backsplash was not caulked ... or poorly caulked along two walls. Again .. not a huge deal as I just caulked it myself, but this is high quality materials and installation at a premium price ... it's a surprise to see that detail not finished. Just dropping in to add some "finished" photos. I'm over-all extremely pleased and wanted to add that both Andy and Jamie followed up on the minor "snags" mentioned above.
