Before (slat panel samples & the cabinet sample on the floor)

Russ is very impressive and great to work with! We have an unconventional space in our living room that we wanted to make a closet for. Russ helped us with ideas and worked with us on designs. We wanted a tall closet with slats door, but unsure the exact designs / colors etc. He made several versions of the samples (as you will see in the before pic where I laid them out side by side) to help us picture it better. On the day of the install, there were several surprise discoveries behind our old cabinet (outlet, fireplace gas key), he took extra time to make additional carveouts to make sure things are done perfectly. The final results were immaculate, Russ'e workmanship, attention to details and joy & pride in his work is evident from the final results. No doubt we would ask for his help in any future woodwork we need.

Before: a huge hole in the island where we had an old trash compactor removed

I needed a pull-out trash drawer created in an empty space I had in the middle of my kitchen island, due to an old trash compactor we removed. Russ was able to match the door style perfectly, and created a great pull-out trash drawer. I purposefully asked for it to be unfinished because I was going to paint it later myself, and now that it's all done, it looks like it's always been there. It took a couple of weeks from measurements to install, but Russ communicated the process clearly, was responsive, had fair pricing, and was overall wonderful to work with. I'd definitely contact Meadowlark again for any future woodwork needs!

i am so happy to have found Russ on Yelp. I had an old trash compactor i wanted replaced with a pull out trash bin. Russ was great from the start...very responsive and knowledgeable. He was able to match the existing cabinetry and trim perfectly. He is honest and reliable. I am beyond thrilled with the quality of his work and professionalism. I highly recommend Meadowlark Woodworks. Thanks Russ!!!

I hired Russ to create a bay window bench for me. From the start, he was responsive and transparent. I can tell he prides himself in the quality of his craftsmanship and attention to detail. I'm pleased with the outcome and I would definitely hire him again in the future if another project arises. Thanks Russ!

Meant to write this a while ago. Found Russ here on Yelp for our small job cabinet project. He used the existing door from a cabinet faced trash compactor and built us a custom insert to hide recycling and food scraps bins. Made me a hero with my eco activist teenager. As he wrapped up the job Russ also helped me a hang a heavy duty pull up bar in my garage. Greatly appreciated it Russ thanks again!

Before and after Russ shortened my cabinet doors to fit the new smaller cabinet.

My husband and I recently installed a gas stove in our kitchen which meant we had to raise the cabinet above the stove to meet code clearance. My husband was able to cut down the cabinet and raise the microwave but we were at a loss of how to shorten the cabinet doors. I took the cabinet doors to another local cabinet maker, they held on to them for a week just to call me and say the job wasn't worth their time. Fair enough but what do I do now? I can't afford all new doors that match! I called Russ and explained my dilemma over the phone. He was really nice and told me to drop the doors by and he would take a look at them. I did and we discussed briefly what I thought might work. I was pleasantly surprised when he called the next day saying the doors were done!! It was exactly what I wanted. Quick, easy, affordable fix! I would recommend this business to anyone.

Repaired drawer
Grant W.

One of the drawers to the vanity in the master bathroom needed to be repaired as the stile on the left side had broken off. Based on great reviews on Yelp, I left a text message with a few photos of the damaged drawer. The next morning I received a detailed response from Russell describing what the repair of the drawer entailed and the estimated cost to repair it. Russell stopped by the house the following morning to take the drawer back to his shop. Within a few days he called to tell me that the repair was completed and he would drop it off later that morning. I couldn't believe what a beautiful repair job he had done, as there is no indication that the drawer had been damaged (he also cleaned up some scratches with stain that matched the finish!) The bill for the repair was very reasonable. Russell was very professional and friendly and I would highly recommend him for any cabinetry work!

JV Cabinets earns my highest recommendation for anyone considering cabinet refacing or new cabinet…read moreinstallation. From the very first visit, Paul set himself apart from other contractors I had met with -- he arrived fully prepared with a variety of material and color samples, thoroughly explained the refacing process, covered warranty details, took measurements, and even designed the layout, all in a single appointment. There was never any pressure to sign, which I genuinely appreciated. When questions came up after his visit, Paul responded quickly with a phone call followed by a detailed email complete with photos and examples. That level of follow-through is hard to find. Once I signed the contract, Jaime came by to confirm measurements and listen to my ideas, translating them into a well-defined project plan. The results speak for themselves -- everything was completed ahead of schedule. The cabinet refacing surpassed my expectations, and the material we selected not only looks stunning but feels great and is effortless to clean. The new coffee bar in the living room has become an absolute showstopper, and the added cabinets in the laundry area are both practical and well-crafted. Miguel, who handled the final installation, was a true professional -- communicative, courteous, and a pleasure to have in our home. The team wrapped up with a thorough walk-through and left everything immaculate. I've already recommended JV Cabinets to friends and family, and I would do so again without hesitation.

We chose JV Cabinets because we specifically wanted solid wood cabinetry with a painted finish, and…read moreat the time, we believed we were paying for higher quality. After completing the project and later comparing with other options, it became clear that the pricing was not aligned with the level of quality we received. The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost.

After a quick Yelp search, we came across Elite Custom Cabinetry and Fidel was able to see what was already done and listened to what I wanted to do. He quickly understood what was needed, listened for any design input, even provided some options with regards to trim styles to be installed in between each bookcase. On the day of installation, just a few hours went by and the crown molding, various pieces of trim, and nearly perfectly matching baseboards were installed. Lots of little bits here and there were considered to truely give the appearance of a built-in library. The work was perfect, especially given where the starting line was. When the work was done, their clean up was so good, not a piece of dust was left behind. On top of everything, pricing was very reasonable. For the work that was done, the cost was very fair. I would not hesitate recommending this company to anyone looking to complete a bookshelf/library project. I am sure they do other types of work but as far as libraries go, nothing but fantastic work.

To Replace or ReFace Kitchen Cabinets...the Choice was Daunting!…read more After conferring with professionals we know and trust, David Fontan of Oak Mountain Cabinets in Pacheco was recommended to us as an option We toyed with the idea of just painting our 1997 cabinets and received reasonable quotes from Kent Painting and Level Seven Painting, but after meeting and talking with David, we knew refacing was the way to go. So good-bye to our dated Nutmeg Maple to updated, painted, and refreshed cabinets of 2025! Not all cabinet refacers are created equal! There were several reasons why we went with Oak Mountain Cabinets. David Fontan is a hands-on owner. He has decades of experience in this field and inspired us with the confidence to tackle the task of refacing. Through our discussions we learned we could essentially reconfigure and upgrade the quality of the cabinetry and hardware. They rebuilt the drawers, changed the internal slides, converted some cabinets to drawers, added pull-outs where needed, and repaired flawed work done by the builder. All of this while upgrading the look of the cabinetry at half the cost of replacing all the cabinets. Most importantly my spouse concluded that she and David "clicked." That synergy really showed in the people that were assigned to the critical aspects of our project and thie on-going working relationship. Johnathan, who is responsible for the detailed drawings of the project, was attentive and responsive. Together we worked through the details required to get this project right. He has been a joy to work with. Joshua has been assigned the task of doing the demo, the repairs, the prep, and the painting. Joshua was the perfect match for my spouse. He's diligent, precise, conscientious, focused, and thorough. He went above and beyond the call of duty to tape off the kitchen to minimize the debris flow from the kitchen to the rest of the house. So far his work has been flawless. And he faithfully cleans up at the end of each day! My spouse is very very particular about what is done to our house, how it is done, and who does the work. She is hands on as well and closely monitors the progress and has appreciated the willingness of David and Joshua to settle any concerns...a true collaboration. I can honestly say that she is totally chill about what is going on. We feel that this is the absolute right decision. For now, we have seen enough to encourage any reader to give this company a look. We'll keep you posted on the outcome. .
