Stirr has an awesome mimosa special, I believe it's $15 for a bottle. So I sat up to the bar and got a bottle of champagne. The service was spectacular. I also ordered the brunch tacos, which were on point. The restaurant itself is rather large, and very accommodating. There was a nice lively crowd there on a Saturday. The restaurant has a rooftop bar and plenty of seating on uncomfortable seats at the tables. Some are high-tops - and there is also a bar downstairs. I had the salmon, and after seeing a few of us get the same item - it appears that it must be frozen and just prepared on their plates. I was really nervous about stopping in to dine because of the rating. Luckily, I took the chance! The service was kind and prompt. We were immediately sat when we walked in. Our food came out mostly hot and fresh...except my potatoes, they were pretty lukewarm. Everything we had was incredibly tasty. Even the ketchup they served with the potatoes was delicious. We got the volcano shrimp and the meatball sliders. He enjoyed the shrimp (I have a peanut allergy, so I didn't try it), but it smelled good. Also the quantity of shrimp was larger than expected. The meatball sliders were decent. I didn't really care for the texture of the meatball. It had no bite to it. But the taste was fine. It was basic. The garlic knot was nice a soft, but the meatball was also too soft, so it needed a crunch element. We wanted to checkout upstairs because we heard the music, but we got up there and it was empty. We ended up leaving to try and find a more lively setting. I bet on a Friday or Saturday night it would have been a better setting. The servers were all very nice and friendly. Terrible service. My friend and I arrived just at the start of Friday happy hour (3-6pm) to find the bar about half full. Opting to sit at the bar, we decided to take the spot of two other guests who were just leaving in order to get two chairs together. We stood by the chairs for a few minutes expecting the bartender to clear the dirty dishes and wipe the counter but nothing happened. We finally sat down and after about five more minutes they cleared the dishes. Several minutes later, the counter was still dirty and honestly I think they might have left it that way had we not asked if they could clean it. Next, drink orders took forever. You would think sitting at the bar would provide faster drink service but this was definitely not the case. Food orders took even longer. The bartender seemed to prioritize other parties over my friend and I even though we had been waiting longer to order. We ordered a few appetizers and a flatbread since all of these are half off during happy hour. Everything was pretty average. The server also dropped a piece of the flatbread I had ordered on the floor but was nice enough to offer to remake it or comp me a drink. We arrived a few mins early for our reservation, and were greeted with the hostess letting us know there is a two hour limit on our table. Fair to give us a warning but when the service is so slow - maybe it's you bro! No need to set strict limits if your service was up to par. They kept the air moving with fans and most windows had clear heavy duty vinyl 'walls' down to again keep some of the heat out. There was a DJ spinning tunes on this level and he had the place feeling the vibe. You've got your choice of sitting at tables by the windows on at the large bar. The bartenders provided friendly and attentive service. One of the beverages I tried based on the recommendation of the person sitting next to us at the bar was the frozen rose (aka: froze). Catching up on all my reviews before the end of the year and from our trip to Dallas earlier this month. We stumbled upon this spot when walking around Deep Ellum in downtown Dallas. We saw the rooftop bar and in the words of Tina Fey in 30 Rock, I said "I want to go to there." We walked in and walked right upstairs. The downstairs looked like a really nice restaurant. As you walk up the stairs, there's all these cute sayings stamped on them. I loved it! When we walked in to the rooftop area, there was some lounge seating and then seating at the bar. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of cocktails. I ordered an espresso martini which was pretty good. I think the prices here were a little more expensive than the spot we were at before because it had a bit more of a nightclub feel to it. We had a party of 4 and we all wanted an app and entre but when she came back we asked which apps were half off and but was informed we couldn't get the half off because it was passed 6. We felt like she took her time to come back both times so we couldn't get the half off apps and drinks. On top of that, she didn't write anybody's order down and got items wrong. Idk if she was high or just new.... Because of the lack of service I chose not to order any food and I'm glad I didn't because neither of my friends enjoyed the flat bread. In fact my friend took one bite and sent it back deciding not to eat anything because it was "disgusting". I really hope the waitress was new and still learning because service was ridiculous. This food was so incredible. They had so many options that sounded delicious it was hard to narrow down and pick one. We ended up with a salad, a sandwich, and chicken and waffles, and truly all three entrees were incredible. The presentation also was beautiful so I would definitely recommend it. The restaurant was pretty big as well and had great seating throughout. My only complaint was our server was slow and we had to keep asking her for things since she would disappear, I am not sure if she was helping other tables, etc. but that would be the only complaint. It was so hot oh the roof but they were able to close the rood shade down to block a little of the sun out. Stirr had $15 mimosa pitchers and boy did we take advantage! We loved the pineapple one & we had a quite a few. All the appetizers we had were really good! My steak and eggs were good but the stars of the dish was the butter and the Chimichurri sauce lol They had two DJs (one was definitely better than the other in our opinion) but they both kept us having a good time. We're from Florida so we requested a few songs & they played it for us. Overall we had an amazing time at brunch. Food was good but it was definitely the vibe for us!
