I am from out of town but really wanted to check out a Christmas bar while visiting. Luckily we got there early and got in pretty quick. It was busy but not unbearable. Decorations are absolutely beautiful in every single room. Hands down the most decorated bar I've ever been to. Only reason i took off a star is because when we went to the 2nd bigger bar closest to the entrance- The blonde bartender with long hair completely ignored us for probably 10 minutes while physically standing at the bar. She continued to help others around us but did not acknowledge us or even look at us once. Not sure what that was about. When we finally got helped the drinks were good, strong- pricey as expected. I have been looking for fun holiday pop up bars around town and this place takes the cake by a long shot! There are multiple rooms with separate themes for each room (no spoilers, you will have to see for yourself ) I 1000% recommend this place, the staff stay consistent with the tipsy elf theme and it's clear they are having a blast when you watch them stand on top of the bar. Dance floors, Instagram walls, giant chairs to pose in, drinks with holiday decor in them, this place has it all. If you want an adventure, look no more and come to the tipsy elf! We had such a fun time. Loved the different rooms decked out with decor and tons of lights. Each room was so much fun! Loved the main entry room with the elf and the huge teddy bear that was perfect for a pic, very Instagram worthy. The drinks were fun and came with decorations and lights twinkling inside of the cups. I had the mojito and naughty pillow. Cocktails were about $20 with gratuity included. The bartenders were friendly. We got there at 7:30 stated until 9. The long was so long to come in. We were told it becomes more of club atmosphere and 21 and over. This is definitely one of our favorite holiday bar pop ups during this time of the year! Not only because it's at some of our favorite places in Bishop Arts, BUT also because the decorations are AMAZING! Our first experience going this year was great! They definitely did way more decor this year than last year and it made the experience 10x more better! Each room has been transformed into completely different vibes, each curated down to the corner! It's quite literally amazing! For drinks I opted for their frozen marg (17.00) and my boyfriend got their Ponche (18.00). The drinks were definitely on the pricier side for sure but festive overall. I was a bit confused on why my drink wasn't filled to the top, especially because the one served immediately after was definitely full. For 17.00, I was a bit disappointed however the Ponche was phenomenal! I will say we didn't go for the drinks, we definitely were there for the ambiance! Our favorite room was the Casablanca patio! The DJ playing was amazing and everyone was dancing! It was such an amazing vibe for Christmas! During the week, they post events on socials, some of which are kids days! How fun! Tipsy Elf absolutely nails the festive vibe. The décor is on point, the photo ops are picture-perfect, and the holiday spirit is everywhere. The themed cocktails were creative and fun, and the layout--with three different rooms each playing different music genres--made it feel like a full experience rather than just a bar. That said, while the thought and design were incredibly well done and the drinks were good, the crowd size and some of the behavior allowed is what made the experience feel less than perfect. At times it felt a bit overwhelming and took away from what could have been a really magical night. That said, I would definitely go back. I'm hopeful it was just an off night, because the concept, atmosphere, and effort behind this pop-up are absolutely there. This place was so so cute decor and ambiance wise! They went all out on the Christmas, as they should. It was a perfect pre-holiday bar experience when I went back in December. The staff was all fun, energetic and helpful. They had several bars to order from and they all made the drinks speedy even with the large masses of people. The only draw backs are that the dance floor was super small and after even 3 people were on it, it was full. And they needed either more seating or more dance floor! The drinks were all festive and cute but not super tasty, and metal bells thrown onto the whipped cream was an odd touch, I think garnishes should be edible or at least food safe. I tried the Rum Pum Pum Pum and Naughty Navel, both drinks were nasty, as if the flavors were mixed with someone who was wearing a blindfold. But I do love how strong the drinks were. Customer service was decent, seemed lackluster with minimal effort. I visited around 2 PM on a Sunday, and the place wasn't busy at all. There's no entrance fee. Parking is limited, so it's best to park near the library, where there's more availability. read more

This is the cutest holiday pop up bar!! I really enjoyed the props and all of the picture worthy decor! I want to say go during the day not during a busy time, but they're open only during holidays and it's always busy! We arrived super cute dressed up, but wish we came in pj's--didn't know that was a thing! Spent most of the time pushing through the crowd and finally found some seats! About an hour later we were asked to move because it was reserved. So there's no really set place to be you kind of just wander, but that's most holiday pop ups I guess? It's fun for what it is. Way overpriced drinks that are decorated for Christmas. Great for your instagram picture but the actual drinks are pretty weak. Honestly not sure there was any alcohol at all in my 25 dollar drink. Also be very careful. Bartender handed me the cc machine on the tip screen without telling me that tips are already included. When I added a tip, the final screen showed me 20% gratuity + my additional tip. When I asked the bartender to go back to take off the additional, he approved the transaction and said I would need to wait for a manager to void the transaction and run it again so we just left without causing a fuss. So my biggest tip is just be careful with the auto gratuity here. The rest of the staff, including the DJ, were pretty great and friendly though and makes for a fun stop in Bishop Arts during the holidays. read more

The Tipsy Elf is a pop-up bar in Bishop Arts. A co-worker told me about this place. It is perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. There are 4 bars and lots of areas to take photos. Not a lot of seating, however. We went around 6p and walked right in. As usual, parking is a challenge in Bishop Arts. The drinks were excellent. There's 2 restaurants that are attached; Casablanca and Tejas Tex-Mex. Be forewarned that it is an outside event, so dress appropriately. read more

This place is Christmas Heaven in Bishop Arts! I went at 7pm on a Saturday night and had to wait 5 minutes at the door (it got much longer as the night went on). I like that they monitor attendance so it's not too packed. I was able to walk around freely and still get some cute pics. They have a covered patio that connects to the Mermaid Bar and allows you to order drinks from both places. They have a standard set of holiday drinks to choose from and nothing else, and I loved everything I ordered. I would not recommend taking kids to this place. It's called Tipsy Elf for a reason. I saw adults of all ages enjoying it. The only downside is there was one unisex bathroom at Tipsy Elf, so the line was long. I did not check Mermaid Bar's restroom situation. This place was decked out in Christmas decor from top to bottom, it was obvious it took a lot of time to do all of the decorating. We got there about ten minutes after it opened and there were already at least 20 people inside. I heard the door person say that the night before the line was wrapped around the block with people waiting to get in. Drinks were $20 after tax and tip which is a little pricey but I also get it becuase of the theme, time of year, etc. I definitely recommend checking out the Tipsy Elf if you are in the area and want something Christmasy to do! read more

Drinks were good, not that big of deal, sort of expensive but I get that we are probably paying for the place since there isn't a cover. It was packed tho, lots of movement but once drinks sterling kicking in it's great. The reason why I'm taking a star away was the fact that restrooms were for both genders, meaning we all stepped in the same line. It makes the lines longer, and it makes it hard for males to wait sooooo long for a in and out.
