Our go to poke spot, one of the first ones we tried but favorite of all time. Many people on Yelp say that Steve's poke is not as traditional compared to others, perhaps it could be the reason we like it so much. Their mayo based fishes just keeps on bringing us back! My girlfriend and I don't like to eat a whole bowl of poke filled with rice, so we love how Steve's offers options to sub the carb with quinoa, salad, rice or half half with any. The reason why I mentioned we like the mayo based fishes is because we like to mix our bowl half way through devouring; since you can pick any toppings you want when building your own bowl, mixing everything together is the best part! The spicy mayo blends everything together, transforming it into a whole new dish. After ordering it a few times, we noticed Steve's almost always has buy one get one free or 50% off on Doordash/uber, you can also combine it with other promotions they offer!

Disappointing. We got two bowls for pick up and neither were great. Be aware that the size of the bowl is deceptive. It looks like it's a certain depth, but middle of the bottom part comes up, so you are getting maybe 3/4 of the volume it looks like you'd be getting. The rice in both our bowls was incredibly stale. My partner paid $2 extra for mango topping, which was severely underripe, hard, and not sweet. California Dreamin' + Avocado - 2.5 stars Steve's Traditional with mango - 2.5 stars

We loved Steve's Poké Bar,and especially this location for their friendly service and clean space. The selections at Steve's is boundless and plentiful. They have a few house bowls to select from and they are all wonderful. An extra perk is their double scoop Sunday promo - 2 scoops of Poké for the price of 1!! With various location throughout Metro Vancouver, give your support to a local business whenever you have a hankering for a poké bowl. You will not be disappointed - or left hungry.

i'm surprised this place has such a high rating on google but not as many ratings and not as high on yelp. sadly, i think the yelp rating is more accurate -- as a poké connoisseur, i expected more of vancouver. this place is far from traditional hawaiian poké, which is protein heavy. the protein scoops here are small and each scoop is an extra $3. sure, they do give a lot of toppings, but i would love more fish

Always love the great poke! Get your bogo 50% off now as soon as possible before the year ends. Make sure it counts and get the app to get some points too! Its amazing how steve's poke bar has expanded so fast since i have come back to vancouver. This is amazing!! Recommended as always!!

Steve's poke bar is by far one of the best places to get poke in Vancouver! They never skimp on the fish or the toppings. Anytime I order via skip the dishes, they always draw cute characters or a "thank you" on the lid, which is so cute. I recommend the mayo spice me up bowl but if you prefer tuna over salmon, there's a spicy tuna bowl too! Also there's gluten free and vegetarian customizations :)

Traditional bowl with a practically everything they had. Paid extra for some of the extras but mom and I were satisfied with the bowl.

They actually torch the tuna when you order! The combination of pasta salad with rice was odd to me, I wish there was an option to use salad as the base instead of rice, but I really enjoyed this bowl. The pasta salad was great, as was the fish and the spicy mayo (it was actually pretty spicy). The pineapple was very obviously from a can and tasted a little weak; fresh would have been better but that's a small detail. I also got a butter mochi. These come packaged in a plastic bag and had a bit of that packaged baked good sheen to it (sorry if this is not a universal experience and no one knows what I'm talking about) but getting past that, I have yet to find a really good and FRESH butter mochi in Vancouver and this is probably the best one I've had. It was very gooey in the middle and just a little crisp outside. The shop has ample seating and had a nice atmosphere with lots of natural light from the big windows. Very clean. I'd come back.

Compared to the locations on W 8th and Hornby, this location is more optimized for takeout; the seating is just stools at counters along the walls and for me the counter was awkwardly high compared to the height of the stool. It was also a little loud. If you're just getting takeout it doesn't make a difference because the food is consistent between all locations, but I would recommend the other location downtown (or the W 8th location if that's in range) for a more comfortable dine-in experience. I tried the Diamond Head pokerrito and subbed out the spicy tuna for the vegan tuna. It's still not a vegan meal if you do this because there are other seafood ingredients in the wrap, but I wanted to try the vegan tuna. It was delicious but very messy because the pokérrito is essentially a giant sushi roll and not sealed at the ends. You kind of have to keep it wrapped in the paper while you eat it but there's no graceful way to eat the ends. I really enjoyed the flavours of this even if I had to get my hands dirty though. The vegan tuna is pretty good. The texture is close enough to real tuna that I wouldn't have noticed it was different if I didn't know. I also got a tiramisu. When I ordered, the person making my order informed me that it was still frozen but it was still good frozen, like ice cream. So I decided that I'd try it and it was pretty good as a frozen dessert except the large ladyfingers at the bottom were slower to soften and hard to scoop out. The coffee soaked into the ladyfingers was pretty strong and the bitterness was a nice contrast with the mascarpone cream. Their prices are very reasonable. The pokérrito and tiramisu came out to $19.90.

Generous portion for protein and lots of options for the toppings: I got spicy tuna and salmon with mango, cilantro, pineapple, jalapeno, radish, edamame, spicy seaweed and crunchy garlic. Not a ton of toppings, but enough to put together something good. The prices are fair - the pricing is based on the number of protein scoops you want, and includes 5 veggies with unlimited sauces and standard "sides" (which are really just more veggie toppings), which is enough that you probably won't need to add on extra and bump the price up, although there are premium options like the kale noodle base and masago that cost extra. The tofu bowl that I ordered was fresh and tasty. I ordered with the kale noodle base, and they were really good (pretty stuck together at first, though), but I'm skeptical of the $2 upcharge. Overall not the most memorable, but seems like a safe option for something quick, fresh, and healthy. The shop has kind of a sterile look, but it's clean and the staff is nice.

I went with brown rice and salad leaves for the base, and added all sorts of toppings with a couple of sauces. The order was ready exactly when they said it would. Tasty enough, with fresh ingredients. There certainly was nothing remarkable about it, but it was a solid healthy option. Good spot for a casual grab n go meal made fresh.
