ham, egg and cheese on white toasted bread

The workers are so kind! My ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was amazing and perfect for a cold morning.

Came inside Cross Street Market for a bite. It was between Steve's or Chicken Lab. My fiancée convinced me to go with Steve's since they're usually closed when we're here. It did not disappoint. This might be my third time here. I usually get the cheesesteak lunch special that comes with a drink and fries ($13). I'm glad they were busy because the staff appears hard working and the food here is very good. The cheesesteak roll was soft and chewy, and the oils and grease did not seep through. I got onions and provolone and as you can see from the photos, the sandwich was hot and fresh, with a nice stretch from the cheese. The fries had a nice color, crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. This meal hit the spot. There is plenty of seating inside CSM. Come to Steve's for a great satisfying meal at a reasonable price.

It's meh. The set up, service, and food are just meh. The prices aren't that crazy considering the food is less than average. The hamburger was dry and seemed like it had died in a freezer months ago. There was a decent attempt made on the sausage egg and cheese on wheat. I could have just gone over to the crepe woman and had something fire. It's nothing to write home about but will keep you from starvation.

No fuss, no frills, just an older man and his griddle cooktop. You get your order in and you leave in an exchange of few words. Steve's Lunch is far from glamorous, but it is fast, and when you just wanna walk down the street with burger and fries in hand before you get back to your shift, Steve's has your back with some of the thickest kaiser rolls I've seen. It actually works great, since all of the mess you'd get with a weaker bun is contained by the roll; this is, in a word, perfect stroll snacking. It's the cheapest food in the entire Cross Street Market, too, which is probably its niche. I can't hate it, but I wish the fries were seasoned a bit more evenly. At least I got my money's worth from one of the few mom and pop-style places left in the downtown area.

What you might expect for a quick diner bite. I got the egg, bacon, and hashbrown breakfast. The price was excellent- $8.48! The customer service was great. The meal was cooked fresh to order and didn't take long to prepare at all. The hash browns were delicious. The bacon, a bit salty. The eggs were very bland. I would ask them to put seasoning on them next time. Easy, breezy breakfast in the Cross Street Market.

I feel silly giving any sort of review for a business I only bought a homemade unsweetened ice tea from (it was a hot day and yes it was a damn good tea!). But for those who loved this place in the past and would appreciate an update, or else for those interested in checking it out for the first time, I'm here to share a photo of their latest menu (late June 2022)

The food at this location is on point, if you are in to American fried food. They give large portions for the price as well. I had the cheesesteak and fries and was impressed. The bread for the sandwiches is very good!

The crust and sauce as it should be, the cheese, just enough and the pepperoni had just enough bite! Recommended! We took home a couple of rice balls (arancini) and they were okay. I've never seen yellow rice in a rice ball, nor a meatball used as the center. It's usually ground beef, a little sauce with peas. It was odd to me though the marinara they gave with this was really good. Maybe this is how rice balls are made here in Baltimore and that's okay, it's the only reason I knocked a star off. The fellow behind the counter was very nice and helpful, there is not a lot of room to sit, but we had room. A good sign that during our visit an employee of the Department of Health had his lunch there. A good sign that it's clean in the kitchen (it was definitely clean out front.) Recommended for the pizza. We'll be back.

It's a little bit tricky to find as the main sign is up as a sign which can be easy to miss. The space is intimate with limited self serve seating. They also have outdoor seating as well. Started out with the Crab Rangoon which was crunchy and crispy, filled with the Rangoon. The neighborhood bird was voted best chicken sandwich in Baltimore and I can see why. The sandwich is on a steam bun which had a sweetness to it. The chicken thigh is large and filling, seasoned well and goes well with the mayo, pickles and herbs. The crispy shrimp bowl came with fried shrimp lying on a bed of basmati rice, some pickled vegetables and herbs. Definitely have to mix all your ingredients together to get the maximum flavor. The Yuzu drinks were refreshing. The white peach flavor was delicious. Overrall the meal came up to $66 with a 20% tip. Seemed like a lot of people order online for pick up. My friend and I split the cost since we were planning on having a second lunch after this lol. The sandwich is a crab cake + softshell crab on a very soft bao bun. It was pretty good but it was alittle lukewarm since we were late for our pick up (so our bad). Very good sandwich with delectable flavors with the crab cake full of meat and the crunchiness of the softshell crab. Pretty solid sandwich! Im not sure if its worth the price point but I appreciated as is.
