And then MY MOM, who was impressed by my plexiglass installs, needed 3 window units installed in HER apartment said "give me the guy you used" and guess who came through with a fantabulous price yesterday, SAME DAY, mere HOURS after she called him for the appointment, IN THE MIDDLE OF A NYC JULY HEAT WAVE? And he even arrived early for the appointment! You will not find better pricing, service, friendliness, and expertise than these guys, so if you're reading my review and still putting together your list of options, you've already found it; I've done the research for you. My mom absolutely loved the fact that he cleaned up everything after; no piles of grungey built-up debris, papers or anything left after and surfaces wiped down thoroughly. And the magical wizardry of the plexiglass option; you can barely tell it's there. It's so much nicer looking than the accordions that come with the AC or dull metal paneling, and makes the area look spacious and of course, a better view. Alen removed her 3 existing units (that had been in those windows, non-functioning, FOR 24 YEARS) and installed her 3 new ones in their place, and like a gentleman he'll even take care of unboxing the new units if you're a lady cause these things are heavy to lift. ;) My mom was so impressed she had to give him a hug at the end of all his hard work lol and we will both continue to recommend him to everybody that we know. With the Summer heat around the corner, it was about time that we installed our window AC units. More importantly, we didn't want to lose the light coming in from the traditional accordion wings provided, and our windows are very wide, so we opted for plexiglass. I had originally purchased 2 universal brackets from Amazon - what Yev showed/explained is that they would not work for our windows because of the limitations of the brackets themselves. Fortunately, he had 2 brackets of his own on hand and those worked perfectly. What impressed me the most is how precise he was with the measurements, ensuring that each side was even. I can't recommend StayCoolNYC and Yev enough. Yev did an AC install for me with Plexiglas sealing the same day I called to tell him my AC had arrived--in the midst of the latest heat wave. He knows what he's doing, communicates clearly, and is incredibly neat (he used a vacuum as he worked and for cleanup). He even came back the next day to do a final tweak to the AC. There have been two big rainstorms since the installation, and not a drop of water has come through--that's how well he'll seal your unit. A few years ago I used another company with a similar name, but Yev's work was so superior to what they did on the exact same type of installation. I should also mention that Yev removed the old AC (it died after two years) and took it away for recycling for a reasonable charge. Yev also communicates by phone, which is a nice switch from endless back-and-forth emails that is the MO for every other AC installation company. I wouldn't dream of hiring anyone else to install an AC for me. read more

I needed to replace the very old AC in my home due to noise and a leak, and spoke to no fewer than 15 businesses. A number of the ghostede after I asked for a COI, one went as far as to email me the COI but never showed up for the appointed time, and one of the well-reviewed businesses on Yelp took days and days to get back to me with simple questions. Yev is extremely responsive, follows through with his word, and Dmitri the technician was so professional and efficient with the replacement and installation. To try to save me money on the expensive unit, he even tried to find a previously owned unit and went to go check it out, but the old unit turned out not to be as the seller had promised so we went with the original plan of a new unit install.
