My landlord in the brownstone I live in was, for some reason, very uptight about installing a window AC unit installation. He requested a ton of insurance and other papers before allowing Aircon to install the unit and Ihar took care of everything to reassure my landlord. Even during the installation my landlord would come in with some odd question and Ihar calmly explained what he was doing. Ihar never got frustrated and just was so easy going with my landlords odd and intense behavior. On top of that Ihar installed two units in the living room beautifully. When I realized that my primary air conditioner (a wall unit in a Manhattan apartment building whose management and Board of Directors would prefer a roof deck than central air) was about to end - which is never a good thing, and really a terrible thing during the five borough summer - I sought replacement equipment and installation from the last business with which I worked. And...radio silence after multiple calls and an email. So, to Yelp I went. It was a blessing that Igor from Aircon was one of the responders to my project. We scheduled a diagnosis. Igor arrived promptly and identified that not only was the compressor soon to bust, he identified the black mold(!) that had taken hold in the Friedrich WallMaster (my second purchased wall unit since my residence began in October 2000). He recommended where I buy a new unit, identified which model, and we scheduled an installation date. This morning (July 17, 2024), Igor and Abdul arrived shortly after the scheduled time (and they kept me up to date as to their delay and why, and let it be said that city traffic today was beyond understanding), and got to work. They removed the now useless unit, scrubbed clean the sleeve that holds the equipment, effectively installed the new machine (including the addition of a not necessary, yet instructed as such by the building's superintendent), instructed me on best practices for utilization and maintenance, cleared all refuse and trash, and took the old unit to be disposed of safely. Igor is an honest man. I asked him to check on my wall-sleeve ACs because they had a faint odor when running them. He thought I was better off not cleaning them because he could not find any issues. He suggested washing the filters more often (since I have a cat) and ensuring they air out during the winter instead of covering them. Other vendors may have still washed the ACs anyway, so it was great that he inspected my ACs before offering to service them. Could not recommend Ihar more! We hired him last year to install our Midea unit and he did an incredible job. We had a ton of construction across the street this past year and all the dust and debris made our unit so dirty! When it was time to start using it again this summer we realized it was gross and reached out to Ihar for a cleaning and to install a second Midea unit in the bedroom. He was able to come help us out the day after the unit was delivered (which was like two days after we reached out - super quick which was amazing because it was getting so hot).
