Fantastic service! I needed help with an annoying and custom AC installation that had to work around a ledge to an older NYC apartment. It was not a trivial task and I had personally spent a several hours before considering calling. I should've called sooner. Jonathan is really competent and got the job wrapped up in a under 20 mins. Would definitely call again if I need help read more

Jonathan did an amazing job with installing 2 window units (one GE and one Dreo, both bought on amazon). I was initially reluctant to spend any money on having A/C's installed, so first had the building superintendent temporarily plop in one of the units on the window (resting on window bracket), this was very shoddy with gaps and air spaces everywhere. Jonathan's install was on a different level - like a piece of art. Firstly, he removed and aligned the brackets properly, with the right amount of incline. Then he installed the A/C's just that they were screwed in to the windows and just slightly above the brackets (not touching). The brackets are there for additional safety and if the unit does not touch them, it reduces the vibrations and noise substantially. Jonathan also installed a plexiglass side panel which looks very nice. Throughout this he was very pleasant to talk to, and clearly had a deep technical background and a passion for this sort of work. I can highly recommend his service - I got much greater value for money than I ever expected. Am very happy with the experience. read more

My son attends college in NYC and just moved into a new 4th floor walk-up with no AC. My wife and I live in California, and had no idea where to start looking for a reputable company to install a window unit. I landed on this company based on Yelp reviews. I got a quote within an hour, and an appointment to install the new unit the next morning. The install took less than 10 minutes per my son, and was done perfectly, and without drama or fuss. This was a big relief, and Johnathan made the process very easy for us. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Jonathan did a great job with the installation of the new a/c unit & removal of the old unit. He explained very well how the new unit works. Highly recommend. read more

Hire this company. I am 40 years in Building Construction and Maintenance and engineer with a general contractor license. Now Retired. Few are as service oriented, qualified, priced fairly and accommodating and communicative as SUPERCOOL NYC. Our Window AC units delivery changes twice and they worked the schedule so as to have an immediate installation. They were on time, efficient and courteous and performed excellently. Most important they gave a detailed breakdown of the cost beforehand- no surprises. They are in my RoloDex and my Outlook contacts for all future AC and Heating needs. Bob read more

We could not be happier with Jonathan's service and professionalism. Altogether the removal/recycling of the old A/C and installation of the new unit (3rd floor walk up) cost more than the new unit itself, but the price was well worth it for overall ease and peace of mind. Would do it again. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Jonathan responded promptly and provided an estimate right off the bat. He followed up and got an appointment scheduled ASAP (a must given how hot it is!) He brought a new AC, installed it professionally AND removed and will discard our old broken AC. He kept close contact to let us know when he would arrive. Arrived with a mask on and we felt very comfortable having him in our home during the pandemic. He was quick and clean, I can not recommend him enough! Will definitely be calling supercoolNYC to replace our other AC soon! read more

This company is absolutely fantastic. We had to complete the entire transaction while in California. SuperCoolINYC made the process incredibly easy. We were able to figure out logistics, unit, installation, and payment with ease. All the employees that we spoke to were knowledgeable and follow through was perfect. We highly recommend this company for your AC needs (which you'll need in NY). We'd give them 10 stars! read more

I needed a very heavy air conditioner unit installed in a window above the street, and I wanted it done professionally. I called Supercool because of their excellent Yelp reviews and I am glad I did. They asked to see a picture of the unit, and gave me an estimate for installation, plus some parts. The price was high: over $400. But they set up an appointment, came on time, and installed the unit quickly and efficiently. I would recommend them if you can afford it. read more

Me and my fiancé moved here from Texas and have never used or installed a window unit before. After doing some research I came upon SuperCoolNYC and thought I'd give them a try. I'm glad I did because they were very quick to respond and I didn't have to go and buy my window unit and carry it home. I was able to purchase it directly from SuperCoolNYC and they brought it with them on installation day. He was very professional had all the tools he needed and was in and out. I'm very happy with the results! Thank you so much! read more

Window Air Conditioner Installation by SuperCoolNYC - Window unit - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

Yelp did it again. It helped me find a spectacular handyman and now I can say it helped me find a spectacular AC guy. AC guy? Is that a thing? Not really. Unless you're in Atlantic City and there's some creepy local who just sits and ogles people in a casino. Then maybe it's a thing. In any case, my experience with Jonathan and Supercoolnyc was 5-star worth and more. It's hard to write a review when a service has been done so quickly and efficiently. There's hardly anything to comment on! But I'll try my best. I'll start with the "before" process. Yelp has a nice little feature--on some pages--that tells the user how quickly (or slowly) a service professional responds to emails, as well as the percentage of how many emails this person replies to. I've only seen this on business pages where quotes for particular services are quite variable. This is all to say that this nice little feature is NOT on Supercool's Yelp page. But I'm here to report that response time is v fast, as the kids like to say nowadays. -Emailing with Jonathan Easy and breezy, as chatting with an AC guy should be. Get it? Too many dumb jokes in this review. In any case, Jonathan got back to me quickly and helped me to pick out an AC before anything else. He asked for the dimensions of my apartment in order to find a unit that could best reach all nooks and crannies of my apartment in the hot summer months. Supercool sells AC units along with offering installation, so if you're lazy/ignorant like me, this is a wonderful option. Jonathan will give you a quote beforehand (as everyone should) so you'll know how much you're in for day-of. -Setting up a time Again, as easy as it should be. Installation hours are 12pm-8pm, which I'm guessing many of us can appreciate. Later hours allow employed folks to schedule an installation for after work. As is the case with most services, you'll be given a 2-hr. window, during which Jonathan will call you when he's about 10-20 minutes away. So if you're in the middle of doing yoga (as I was when he called), you have time to pretend you weren't just doing whatever you were doing. -Installation It took 15 minutes. 20 minutes max. I remarked to Jonathan that I was amazed/impressed, and he responded, somewhat in jest, of course, "well, I've got a little experience doing this" (wonderful customer service graph coming next). The break it down for you, Jonathan arrived, I blinked two or three times, and then there was a beautiful new AC installed in my kitchen window (safety bracket and all!). As it should be in New York. -Customer service/vibes/people being people people (a person being a people person) Jonathan was a delight! He was happy to make small talk, which I appreciated. I always feel a bit awkward when I'm just sitting on my couch waiting for someone to finish installing/fixing/setting up whatever they're working on. Why not be social? Obviously this is personal preference, but I like to make people feel that they're more than just transactional inertia. Enough about me though. I'll just end with some BUZZWORDS (some of which I've already used, all of which apply to Jonathan/Supercool). -Professional -Friendly -Personable -Efficient -ONFLEEK -Knowledgable read more

EXCELLENT, PROMPT SERVICE, FAST AND AFFORDABLE AC!! I was referred to SuperCoolNYC by a friend who got some air conditioners from them last summer and couldn't be happier. Jonathan was very helpful and informative as to which AC we needed. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need and answered all our questions. He was really patient and made it really easy for us as we had no clue what the difference of each AC was. He was quick, professional, and knew exactly what he was doing. I would definitely recommend SuperCoolNYC to all my friends and family. read more

Professional and super convenient service from first email to installation. I found them via a Google search and took a leap of faith which paid off. The installation was flawless. We had our ancient, inherited-with-the-apartment A/C punk out in our studio apartment-sized office during a heat wave, of course. Supercool were not only best quote we got, and let me know as soon as they had a cancellation to squeeze us in while other places quoted us double and weren't available for a week. When no one from my team was able to take a picture of our current set up in our unbearably hot office, the Supercool team managed to find photos of the interior and the A/C from the listing before we rented the place. Good thing they did, too, because there was an extra step they needed to take for installation/removal that I wouldn't have been aware of otherwise. How resourceful! We put all the pieces together late night to make it all happen the following afternoon, and they were super pro from start to finish. Highly recommend these guys to keep you cool. read more

This company is responsive, reasonable, reliable. Exactly what one would wish for when the AC dies in the middle of July. I also appreciated the narrow delivery window plus alert when he was near by. Installation was fast and detail-oriented -- he took pains to make it look nice and addressed concerns I'd mentioned in passing. I wish every service would meet this level of professionalism. read more

Great service and does your work install the right way. Very professional, would highly recommend.

Wonderful service! I emailed and they responded immediately with quotes. I got scheduled in super quickly and the installation took less than 30 minutes. Greatly appreciated, especially considering the current state of the world. I highly recommend them! read more

I hired Jonathan for a second time in my new apartment and am totally satisfied with the result. This company is uber professional and handles everything from recommending the size of unit to delivering to the installation. I recommend calling early and getting on the schedule so you don't miss out once it's super hot and they're in major demand. read more

When you talk about working professional tradesman or salespeople - especially in New York - you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that many many people think of as FIVE STAR. And yet, again and again and again, the team at SupercoolNYC get 5-star reviews. AND I'M HERE TO SAY THAT IT IS ALL TRUE!! From my first call and my first email, I not only knew that I was dealing with a total pro in Jonathan, but a NICE HUMAN BEING who approached the work with detail and care. I live out-of-town, but had NO issues with the communication, scheduling, contract, payment, or installation. Jonathan met every deadline, and installed multiple units exactly on time. He has not only earned my respect, but my supercool positive recommendation and review! If you are thinking of buying and/or installing an AC unit, this is the company to use. Period. read more

Easy breezy installation! Jon was a referral from a friend and I'm very happy with the services. My NYC apt building now requires all window AC's to include a safety bracket (so it doesn't fall down on people below). Jon knew exactly what bracket rule I was referring to, which was comforting. I was able to schedule an evening app't (7:30ish) which worked out well since I work during the day. The only pre-homework I had to do was to text a few pics of my current window frame and AC for him. He also helped me cork the open seams in the side panels so winters will be warmer for me. Extra awesome! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for professional, fast, and awesome. Thanks for being super cool! read more

Jonathan is awesome! Like several other yelpers noted, he is running this small business nearly single-handedly, so it may take a few days for him to respond, but it's worth the wait (and note that he said next year he plans to hire a few additional people, so that will help). He was right on time and an expert with the old A/C unit my husband and I had found in the closet in our new apartment. He checked the unit for mold, told me the best ways to keep it running for a few more years, and showed me how to clean the unit and the filter. The installation (including him patiently answering all of my questions!) was probably only 30 minutes total. Fast and easy. The level of service Jonathan provided definitely surpassed my expectations. In addition, he's a super nice guy and pretty cool (no pun intended) to hang with for a half hour. If we need air conditioning in any future apartments, I know who to call. read more

Hire this company! They are wonderful, so professional and get the job done. We had three air conditioners and the brackets installed in our apartment. Everything was delivered on-time and installed within an hour. Also left the apartment cleaner than when they arrived while wearing a mask and abiding by COVID restrictions. A+++ job! read more

Having bought and installed window air conditioners on an ad hoc basis for many years with minimal success, I went in search of an air conditioner consultant who would be able to provide a more unified solution based on their expertise. This turned out to be a bit more challenging than I thought it would be until I found Jonathan and his Super Cool company. Upon first contacting Super Cool NYC I knew right away this was what I was looking for. Their process begins by requesting the dimensions of the spaces in question, from which they develop an itemized estimate that breaks out each task, recommended unit and size in a clear manner. They were very accommodating in going several rounds of revisions to get the estimate to fit exactly what I needed. The installation process was no less professional and efficient. Jonathan and his assistant were neat and cordial in appearance and worked in our space with the same care and cleanliness. We have several units throughout the apartment, but I wanted to see how Super Cool NYC would handle our most urgent needs. Since the experience was stellar, I'm looking forward to having them back. read more

I read the reviews posted and was "sold" on requesting service. I called the number listed and received a recording stating they are a small company, therefore, their response time is 48hrs, and if you do not hear from them within that time frame; they suggest you contact a different vendor - WEIRD. Of course my two(2) calls, I did not receive a response. So I tried contacting them via inbox on Yelp. I received what I would say as a prompt response. Here were it made no sense. They informed me that do not service my area in Queens; although their are views posted for sections in Queens. When I replied back informing them that they have other areas in Queens that they service, so why not mine - I received not response. RUDE! The fact that they have a wider range of service areas listed for reviews leads me to believe so of the posting listed are "Fakes": Their lack of professionalism is not desirable. There is something weird about this vendor. read more

I live in Brooklyn, and I wanted to get a window air conditioner installed in my living room now before the summer rush. While doing research on air conditioner installation, I read lots of good things about Supercoolnyc, including here on Yelp. So I reached out to Jonathan via email last week. He requested a link to the StreetEasy listing for my apartment so he could see the layout and the square footage, then he helped me select the air conditioner that would be best. I am so glad he took the time to do that because the air conditioners I was considering would not have properly cooled the space. I also appreciate how efficient he was about completing the paperwork, including the COI, required by my co-op. He filled out everything properly the first time, and it was quickly approved by our building manager. After that, we scheduled an appointment, and Supercoolnyc's Alex came by today to do the installation. Alex was careful and thorough and took the time to do the job right. He was also nice to my dog, which was a bonus. Both Jonathan and Alex are smart and professional. Given my experience with them, it is clear to me that these guys genuinely care about doing a great job and making their customers happy. Now that I have worked with them, I can see why Supercoolnyc gets rave reviews. read more

Another great business for NYC apartment dwellers! Especially us female types who don't have a handy guy to do the work for us. Jonathan was so easy to work with, we set up the day and time online and he arrived exactly when he said he would with a new window unit and had the thing installed in 20 minutes. Friendly, nice, reliable service and I very highly recommend them. read more

Definitely would recommend. SuperCoolNYC was the third AC company I'd called - taking a chance that "servicing Brooklyn and surrounding neighborhoods" meant Manhattan as well. And my experience with SuperCoolNYC and Jonathan, the proprietar, was by far the best experience I've had with just about any contractor in NYC. + He was very responsive - picked up phone, set time, explained fees, and friendly + His crew showed up on time (How rare is that!) + He was very detail-oriented, not only did the install and hauled out old window unit, but also did caulking and sealing Would absolutely call on Jonathan and his company and highly recommend them. FYI, they do service Manhattan! read more

Very satisfied with Jonathan's work and professionalism. We contracted him for the removal and disposal of a very old unit from a 4th floor apartment in Brooklyn. His quote was not the cheapest one but we did not want to deal with handymen considering the age and condition of the unit and window. There was even a bird's nest inside the window, it was quite dirty and messy. He cleaned the area thoroughly and even the window with a glass cleaner. We were very pleased with his work and pleasant personality, will certainly use his services again if we install a new unit in the summer. read more

After I installed my window unit this summer, I realized something was wrong with it -- it was leaking and clicking, not cooling very well. Was surprised it broke, since the unit was only 2.5 years old and I store it inside for at least 6 months a year. Not knowing any better, I figured it would be my last year with the unit. When I finally took the unit out come November, I realized I had no idea how to dispose of a broken A/C unit. I called SuperCoolNYC on a Saturday night simply for help, and the friendly man who answered spent 5 minutes talking me through my broken A/C challenge. (Answer: I'd never cleaned the filters, and I installed it a little crooked.) The call saved me the hassle of disposing of my old unit, the cost of a new unit, and he charged nothing, and was kind about the whole thing. I know who to call to install the unit come May! read more

Over the last six months of my apt redo I have encountered some good and some not so good contractors, painters, and of course the horrendous incident with that moving company. I was hopeful but still nervous about the AC installation as I knew they needed to build brackets so a bit more complicated than a regular window install. Due to the positive reviews on Yelp I reached out to Jonathan from Supercool. He was knowledgeable and professional on the phone, and worked with me to reschedule when I had to go on a last minute business trip. They just left and I couldn't be happier...Yippee!! Jonathan and Ed arrived exactly on time, didn't flinch when I made them take off their shoes, and most importantly installed my AC perfectly to meet the regulations of my co-op board. An easy, hassle free experience plus a cool apartment to boot! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

This business's great service prompted me to start a yelp account! I had a great quality (but well past it's prime) 19,000 BTU a/c unit for my parlor floor that had been on the fritz for about 2+ years. I also had a very tricky and tough to fit window and metal security gate. In short - I had very few options. Freidrich no longer made the old unit and the new replacements were both very costly (which I was OK with) and on back order in most places. Other new available options from the big box stores did not have the capacity to cool the floor efficiently. After reading many glowing reviews on yelp, I decided to call. I was very surprised when a person actually answered in the middle of a NYC heat wave! I spoke to Jonathan and explained my situation. I provided the measurements and history of the unit, I also texted him photos of the current installation and the plugs. He went right into his warehouse and found a refurbished one year old unit from freidrich that would fit the bill. He provided the model number and price of the proposed replacement so I could do independent pricing and quality research. His pricing was very fair and he was also able to install it after work that night. He arrived within 15 minutes of the time frame provided and stayed in contact with me while en route. Jonathan and his other installer worked quickly and cleanly. They even sanded down a tiny bit of metal gate so that the unit would fit better. I could not be more pleased and would definitely recommend!! Shockingly good read more

The 5-star reviews for Super Cool NYC are completely deserved, Jon is amazing. I wanted to replace my old ac and Jon reviewed my needs, made a considered recommendation, and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. Taking care of all these details with the person who would actually be doing the work was very reassuring. On the day of the installation Jon alerted me when he was near and arrived exactly on time. He worked quickly and efficiently and was pleasant to chat with. In a very short time he installed the new unit perfectly, kindly provided me with a great idea to deal with my malfunctioning windows, and removed all the packaging bits and my old ac. Jon is a wonderful example of how a small business should run! read more

Found SuperCoolNYC on Yelp a week after we moved into our Williamsburg 3BR and realized we couldn't survive the summer without an AC. Called up and got advice on what size AC we needed and how much it would cost from Jonathan. And he was able to schedule an installation two days later! (The other two places I had called first said they wouldn't be able to come for at least a couple weeks..not cool.) Jonathan installed our AC himself, it was super quick and it works great! He's a really cool guy, gave us some fun ideas for the weekend too (we just moved out here from CA). Would definitely recommend SuperCoolNYC!! So glad we found them! read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! Definitely Recommend! I called Supercool Wednesday afternoon, left a voicemail stating my interest in an ac and installation. Less than 5 minutes later, Jonathan called back and the appointment was set for the following evening (next day service? What??). He arrived within the given time frame. The whole thing took less than 45 minutes, from start to me shivering. He really knows what he's doing and doesn't waste any time. I was a little suspicious at first given the similarity of the reviews, but this guy is legit. Bottom line: I'd be surprised if you're able to find better service and/or prices in the city. read more

I've had SuperCool install two ACs for me on two separate occasions. Both times they were incredibly professional and kind. Plus, the weather proofing is top notch and I don't have to have units removed in the winter. And let's be real, the heat is on so high in most buildings it's nice to have an AC all year long. Anyways, great, consistent service from SuperCool. Save yourself the trouble of getting an AC unit home, installing brackets, the whole thing and just call them! read more

Jonathan was fast and efficient. The whole process was easy and pleasant.

Amazing! Heard great things about SupercoolNYC last year and just moved into the city 2 months ago. I've been looking around for air conditioners online, in-store, craigslist, and asked around if people knew anything or anyone. A friend reminded me about SupercoolNYC after telling him how stressed out I was about finding one (because they cost sooooooo much) and i called SupercoolNYC instantly. John answered right away even though I called late in the evening and I told him what I needed and the size of the hole in the wall and we set something up right away! Fast, well-priced, and worked with my schedule! I work all day so it was amazing that he was able to come at my convenience. On time and installed pretty quick, I finally had my air conditioner! Fast, easy, quick, and amazing price! Definitely recommend !!! read more

I'mma let you finish... but Johnathan at Supercool gave the best customer service of all time. After several attempts at trying to get my AC to work in my apartment, I finally caved in and decided to give Supercool a call. At first, no one answered so I left a voicemail (cause God knows how many hours, or days... maybe even years, it would take me to fix the darn thing). I immediately got a call back from my savior--Jonathan from Supercool! He informed me that unfortunately he doesn't work with the kind of AC/heating units found in my apartment, but he was still more than happy to give me advice on how to proceed with the situation. With the hustling no-stop NYC lifestyle, it's hard to come across people now-adays willing to give you anytime of their lives, but Jonathan was a definite exception. He spent about 15 minutes simply giving ME (trust me, I'm not the smartest of bulbs when it comes to maintenance work) advice! I really appreciated the customer service I received from Jonathan. If I ever have any other similar problems in the future, I will definitely call Supercool again, and I recommend that you do too!
