Alex is awesome! Professional and friendly and does an amazing job! We've used him twice already. First, we hired him to fix one of our condensers. Then we hired him to clean our five units. Great job! Highly recommend. read more

I hired HVAC Hunters for a refrigerant recharge. The technician told me, based on his professional experience, that this recharge would get my system through the summer. I took him at his professional word and approved the work on that basis. It did not last 12 hours. The system stopped working the same day. Only afterward did I read the fine print on the invoice, which says the opposite of what I was told in person: that a recharge carries no guarantee of operation for any period of time and that the refrigerant may keep leaking. So I was sold a "summer" fix verbally, handed a disclaimer in writing, and left with a system that quit before the next morning. To make it worse, no one had the courtesy to call me and let me know the outcome of the conversation with their technician. Having managed large operations for years, I know there's a right way and a wrong way to do business: set honest expectations, stand behind what your technician promises, and communicate directly. None of that happened here. My advice, get every promise in writing before you approve any work, or better yet, call someone else. read more

My initial experience has been good. I called them because my steam radiator has been extremely noisy lately. The diagnostic cost was $200. The technician spent a couple of hours diagnosing the issue and was thorough and communicative. The technician on site was not 100% conversant in English but it was important to him that I understood the problem and he did an admirable job explaining it. Then Alex called me to explain it again and his explanation was consistent with the technician's. He emailed me a detailed description of the problem along with a proposed solution and clear pricing. I paid the $200 diagnostic fee via Zelle. Unfortunately, my boiler needed several new parts in order to be safe to operate (news to me as I had just had a maintenance visit from another provider 3 month prior). The technician was emphatic that I not run the system until the problem was corrected. I understand that the team drove out of state to retrieve the necessary parts for me so that my family would not be without heat overnight. They returned the same day and installed the parts. Again, I paid the sizable but reasonable repair cost via Zelle. The team was careful to explain to me that this safety/pressure problem was not the reason for the noisy pipes! So, they fixed the dangerous issue but still needed to do a valve replacement. They came the next day to replace the valve and found that a more involved job would be necessary because of the age and condition of the radiator battery in my bedroom. But, they explained that they could not do the extensive work in the cold weather because of a risk to the pipes and a possibility that we would be without heat for an extended period of time. They replaced what they could and said they would do a more complete job in the spring when the weather is warmer. So, my pipes are still noisy and I spent a lot of money but at least my boiler is safe to operate. Assuming that they are able to complete the repair job in the spring at a reasonable cost and with the same timeliness that I have experienced so far, I will be happy to continue working with them. It is refreshing to deal with a repair company that handles client communication in such a professional manner. Everyone was careful about wet shoes and mess and all of that, which was also welcome. read more

If, like me, you're looking to have your A/C & heating units serviced for the first time, things can be confusing. Estimates can vary widely for what looks like the same service[1], and which company to pick can feel like a leap in the unknown. From the first contact, HVAC Hunters were responsive, clear, and super professional. They would reply to my messages within minutes, and their quote was very competitive[2]. I also appreciated how flexible they were as far as payment: I arranged for several apartments in my building to have their units serviced, but every apartment would be billed separately. That was not a problem, and the same happened when they had to come back a week later to deep clean units that had black mold. They did the work for all the apartments the same day, but each apartment was billed separately and after the job was completed. I also liked how practical issues such as no running water on the roof where the external units are located were a non-issue for them, unlike other companies that required access to running water. Alex, the technician was nothing short of exceptional. Every step of the process he took the time to explain what he was doing, and provide suggestions as far as preventative maintenance we could do on our own. He is somebody who is enthusiastic about his work and cares about the customer. HVAC Hunters also took extreme care in keeping the apartment absolutely spotless, covering everything in the room when they had to do the deep cleaning of one of the units. It's rare to find a company that combines quality work, fair pricing, and excellent communication, but HVAC Hunters nailed all three. In fact, I was so happy with them that I now have a service contract. Alongside peace of mind. --------------------------- [1] Like, a 3-fold difference in price for the same service from company to company. [2] No hidden fees; no unexpected expenses the day of service. read more

The tech showed up same day for a smart thermostat installation which had hit a snag. Long story very short, a lack of documentation made a small problem seem like a huge wiring problem instead. This was a perfect opportunity for an unscrupulous company to greatly overcharge, yet the cost ended up significantly less than every other quote I received. They get a very strong five stars from me because they demonstrated integrity; the competence in solving a thorny problem and cheaper price are almost secondary. HVAC Hunters is now on my very short list of contractors I would call back for a second visit. read more

We just hired Alex and HVAC Hunters to replace large external condensate pumps in a mini-split system for our home, as we were very unhappy with the aesthetics of the installation job by another unrelated company. We had contacted a dozen vendors. Several said they could not do the work, a few declined as they noted they had not installed the original system and did not want to take responsibility in case of other issues. Others proposed a smaller but still external and noisy pumps or the need to cut dry walls etc. Moreover, others wanted hefty per-unit call fees just to come in-person and give an estimate. Alex gave a quick diagnostic and a fair quote which he stuck to, with just the photos, video and description provided. He and his colleague did the job very quickly, after explaining the whole scope of work to us. The internal condensate pumps he installed for us are silent as he promised and our living room looks like a living room again. He also kindly took the time to explain how to troubleshoot the mini-split system, routine maintenance, etc. No one had told us before and it was really appreciated from our part. We have worked with a lot of different vendors on different projects. Alex has a quiet professional demeanour, not pushy or trying to up-sell. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. We would be glad to work with Alex and team again. read more

Had an emergency with my central AC. It had water leak which caused flooding of the apartment downstairs. I needed an urgent service, but most of the companies in the area couldn't accommodate me the same day, even though I explained the urgency. However , HVAC Hunters team not just replied within 10 minutes, but also provided the service in the next few hours. Their professionals identified the issue and fixed it as fast as possible to stop causing damage to both my and my neighbor's homes. Besides that they explained the cause and suggested a maintenance to prevent further issues. Additionally they have offered a full maintenance of the furnace and provided a full report with pictures before and after ( attached below). I am highly satisfied with service and communication with the team. Thank you! read more

Alex and Sergei looked at the space, giving an estimate of time, and showed up promptly the next day. They set up a clean work area and completed over half the job the first day! By 4:00pm the second day, both units were installed. Professional, efficient, and friendly. Sensational service! read more

I had an AC issue and am not knowledgeable in at fixing home maintenance issues. I called to get their rate to fix the issue. It was $150 to take a look and advise and more if they needed to fix it. Something in the AC temperature thermostat was broken and just needed to be replaced. I dont think that it was worth $150 but they still did great work. They checked all the vents, the wiring and the temperature. They checked through the full house and making sure it was working. They were very kind and willing to explain the situation and how to fix it on our own or have them come over to fix the issue themselves. They answered right away and want to help as much as possible. read more

Mini Split AC system really needed a deep cleaning after many years use and probably not cleaned as regularly as it should have been. Alex from HVAC did a very professional job that took maybe just over an hour from beginning to finish. He showed up on time, was very prompt, very thorough, and very respectful of the surrounding area during the cleaning keeping everything protected and neat. The unit was deep cleaned with anti-mold treatment. He was also very patient to explain how to maintain and keep the unit clean going forward. He says that a unit properly maintained and filters regularly cleaned should not need another deep cleaning for another 5+ years. Great job and well worth it! read more

I went with HVAC Hunters even though their quote was actually one of the highest I received. But from the start, they stood out -- they clearly explained how the price was built, what was included, and what made their approach different. The way they communicated and paid attention to details gave me a lot more confidence compared to the other companies I spoke with. And during the installation, I saw that the quality, professionalism, and care they put into the project really did match the price. Amazing team and great company. No regrets -- totally worth it. read more

I requested a deep cleaning of 2 Mitsubishi split units that haven't been cleaned in a very long time. The technician Vitaliy was EXTREMELY skillful, patient, polite, punctual, and knowledgeable. He was able to get the deep cleaning done and protected against future problems by applying special treatments to the coils to prevent future bacterial and mold growth. He also explained each step of the process and installed new allergy filters that I provided. Additionally, he took a quick look at the outdoor unit and provided an overview of its functioning. It makes so much sense why this company received 5 star reviews. The folks here are very very experienced and deserve all the commendations in the world. I will definitely be using them for any future HVAC maintenance or repairs, and I cannot stress enough how much of a good bang for your buck their services are. $250 / unit for a deep cleaning (and this was an extremely necessary DEEP cleaning) was a good deal! read more

We called HVAC Hunters to do the free estimate on our condenser since it was obviously looked so old and wanted to figure out whether we had to change to the new one or not. On the appointment day, the agent arrived very early, and found our place in one time-usually most of repair or delivery people having hard time finding our place. The agent was very polite, professional and meticulous. Not only he took a look at the condenser, he also checked on the heater, working together to make cooling system work. He explained every single details about the condition of the condenser and heater thoroughly which was easy to understand and provided us the best way to save our money and yet keep the condenser to work as much as it can at the same time. ALL OF THIS WAS FROM FREE ESTIMATE. It was such a steal to have this high quality of estimate for free. I will definitely call HVAC Hunters if my condenser eventually stop working and change it to the new one. read more
