Due to permit issues we had for a separate matter, I had to reschedule with Mr.Air multiple times. They also had to hold 4 mini split ACs and two condensers for months because of the rescheduling. We had to change the order a few times due to changing our minds on the location of the condenser as well as electrical work needed. At no point did they complain or demand we store the equipment or move up the date. We had all of the ACs installed in one day (9am to 8pm), and they provided plastic to cover furniture. They didn't slack and didn't complain about my father hovering over them (he loves to watch contractors so he could learn; which I'm sure isn't pleasing to any contractor). Very happy with Mr Air NYC ! My split unit air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the heat wave last week. After reaching out to Mr Air, the problem was solved quickly and efficiently. Not only was the installation great but the quality of service is too. The outdoor unit wasn't working because it needed to be cleaned - something I forgot to do last year - the unit looked fine to me but when the heat wave started, the problem worsened. They quoted me a very high number to repair my HVAC rooftop unit but suggested that I repair my entire HVAC system for $25K. Mr Air NYC came and confirmed the same problem and told me that the repair would work well and that I didn't need a new system and their price for the repair was much lower than their competitor. Our project was for a mini-split system with 3 units. We had a difficult experience getting approval from our coop board, and George was very responsive to the changes required. Communication was very good, and the quality of the work was excellent. A few times, I had to wait a couple of days for a response, but that was not a big deal. They solved installation problems creatively, their bid was the most comprehensive and the fairest in terms of price, and the work they did was impeccable. They were good enough when we started with them 4 years ago. However, now we won't use them. Last time they came to the house to service and maintenance and update the wifi to used in the thermostat they installed. They say they did the the service but my system completely shut down 30-40 days later due to dirt plugging the float. (The company that came to eventually fix that said it had been dirty for years.). I had just changed filters myself so I am not clear what they did. Also, they never fixed the wifi although I had sent that issue in email to them. I call the lead at the office and and he said he'd sent the wrong guy. They never followed up to send the right guy. Also, the person they sent didn't speak English so could not communicate with them. $400. No value at all read more

I was charged $300 for a "diagnostic visit" that would go towards service that company never intended to provide. How do I know? I paid the fee, had the technician come and YET when it came time to do the work I got some weird run around. No repair, no quote for new units per my request. I did write a review and promptly received a call from the owner "George" explaining that they are not set up for repairs and have changed the website to reflect that. lol. Okay, so your business model is over charge for a home visit (other companies charge 1/3 that!) - assure me that they can perform the work once diagnosed (I asked!!) and then just take off with $300 with zero to show for it. I had to start from scratch with another provider who charged me $90 bucks for the same service, and actually hooked me up with, y know, service/results. But you enjoy that $300 diagnostic fee.... unreal. Sorry, George. Your company wasted my time (a lot of it), put my tenants through hell during a vile heatwave, and overcharged me for a diagnostic fee that I had NO OPPORTUNITY to put towards a repair or installation of a new unit. read more

I did have to wait a while due to their busy installation schedule, but it was so worth it. Before I used Mr Air, my AC system was installed almost completely wrong, was often leaking, and did not cool all rooms evenly. I hired George and his team to come in and rerun all of the drainage, cooling, and communication lines from my units to my condensers. They showed up early in the morning and had the whole system rerun and fixed by the end of the day. Just my luck that I have the central air go kaput in the dead of summer. Called George and he had the repair guy out ASAP. The repair guy was very meticulous with the work and performed full diagnostic after the repair to make sure things are within spec. He showed me the burnt broken wiring which was the cause of the issue. I'm now switching my HVAC maintenance over to these guys. The first thing i will say is that as this is an expensive purchase before making any decisions I recommend you do your research.. Im not sure if Mr Air would be the right decision for everyone but i can tell you why I chose them.. I got initial quotes from 5 different contractors - 4 of which were Mitsu diamond. Each came back with a different recommendation on compressor size, installation, and of course price. Some only offered installation and would recommend a third party for opening/closing walls, electricity, and patch/paint... Some, like Mr Air were a one stop shop that did everything or close to everything required to finish the job.. Some offered extended warranties, cash back, rebates etc etc... I went back and forth with all the vendors trying to decide what the optimal installation of my apartment would look like and what i actually needed vs what was a nice to have vs. what may not actually work.. You have to validate everything each contractor tells you. George @ Mr Air was extremely responsive, took time to answer all my questions and would support or dispute what other contractors were telling me and why.... The services he offered made things much easier as he was essentially a one stop shop and would do everything but painting.. As far as pricing goes - it was very fair, (although id add i felt he wasn't very open to the idea of negotiating - which is ok - but one still has to try). As for the service - his team was great - they covered everything - and left the place as they found it. They were very respectful of our apartment and answered all questions i had while they were working. The job took about 2 days and George checked in multiple times throughout the day and would update on issues and progress... Lastly, Mr Air NYC service comes with a 1 year warranty.. We've had a couple of small issues with the units and have reached out to George who continues to be responsive. read more

Through a series of contacts I stumbled upon Mr. Air NYC. Victor came by for an initial visit to check out my house to discuss the scope of work to be done and how easy/difficult it was to install a unit in each spot. I live in brownstone built in the early 1900's with all its architectural features in tack, so it was very important to me that they were able to hide as much of the ductwork as possible without breaking my walls. In our initial discussion we discussed which brand of machines I wanted, minimum unit size (btu) required given the size of the room, where the compressors would go, etc. A couple of days later George called me with a quote, we discussed some upgrades (wifi for all units & water pumps for some units) and he came by for another visit to make sure all our plans were feasible. Contract was signed for 7 indoor units and 3 compressors. Installation was scheduled for about two weeks later. George's team arrived bright and early and got straight to work. It took two days to cover 3 floors/3000 sq ft. I have to say the team exceeded my expectations. They did a great job and clean up after themselves. I was really worried that I would destroy the integrity of the house by trying modernizing it without a gut reno. On my third floor I do not see any ductwork. They were able to hide all of it within the crawlspace between the ceiling and the roof. The first and second floors, I only see about three feet of duct before it got routed into the crawlspaces as well. I also really appreciated that they used quality materials to insulate/protect the pipes on the outside of the house. Remember these jobs are best done when doing a gut reno, short of that I think these guys did a beautiful job. After they left, I enjoyed my ACs for about 24 hours before the main unit in my living room started dripping. I called George and he sent his crew by to take a look the same day. It turns out the unit was not leveled so water wasn't draining properly. I don't blame them, when you live in an old house, nothing is level anymore and you just make due with it. After that ordeal, the AC units have been functioning well ever since. Thank goodness I was able to get on their calendar just before a heat wave!! George and team are very professional and provided great service. Every time I had a question, they were able to answer it. They even entertain my questions about my old steam based radiator system which has nothing to do with what they installed. They did a great job and I would not hesitate to hire them again should I move and need to install new units. read more

George is amazing--I'd highly recommend Mr. Air! They removed three PTAC units and installed a split system in its place. I'm on the top floor with a terrace, so they were able to put the unit outside no problem. Communication was great throughout the the process, he wasn't pushy at all, but rather patient and thoughtful. George was a problem solver and thought outside the box giving me different ideas for this project and other things I was working on at the time. He has a totally chill, calm vibe rather than a know-it-all/take-it-or-leave-it approach. I think I interviewed 5 different vendors, none came close...and he does the installation which was key. This review is based on my limited experience with them in trying to schedule a service call. I called them on a Wednesday and explained that I needed an inspection for a restaurant due to re-open for indoor dining and an inspection report was needed to comply with city regulations. He asked for more specifics about what I needed and I emailed it to him. He said he would get back to me. He finally responds the following Monday. By that time, I already hired someone else. I would hope that it doesn't routinely take days to return a request for an appointment. All that was needed was a return call and I would have stuck with them. It's that simple. I cannot say enough good things about George and the entire family team over at Mr. Air Nyc. We knew in June we wanted split air, as a 5th floor walkup we were just DONE with our aging air conditioners not being able to keep up, and being an environmental drag as well. We got four quotes, and while Mr. Air Nyc wasn't the cheapest, they were the fairest. Their price included what others didn't, like cutting the holes and/or patching the holes, running the plumbing, running the electricity, they're licensed and insured and have the best split air (Mitsubishi) in stock. Also, they saved us money with the ConEd rebate, which they emailed us to fill out and then took it from there. We went back and forth on dates (polite persistence is key), this was prime season for the work after all, and they showed up on the day they told us. And I mean showed up. On time, with a crew of maybe 7+ guys, fully masked, laid down plastic, made a plastic tent around the holes they cut in the ceiling so dust didn't get all over our apt, I mean they worked like a machine- efficient and done in a day! 3 cassettes in 3 rooms, holes in roof and ceiling cut and patched, electricity wired and re wired, plumbing installed, and even set up our remote. I had a question after installation, they emailed next day with the answer. They literally left our apt in better condition than they arrived in, and I was so nervous to do what I thought was a crazy thing. Cleaning up and checking the work personally. I was really impressed because he suggested that I oversize my Mitsubishi outside unit to accommodate future upgrades that I might want to do, and the cost difference now was minimal as opposed to later in a few years when I might decide.
