Piper Heating & Cooling is by far the best HVAC company that we've ever used. They're professional, fast, honest, respectful of other people's time and completely cleaned up after themselves, etc. Al and his team went above and beyond the call of duty. Al is also extremely knowledgeable and patient as he took the time to answer all of our questions (3 women have a lot of questions about boilers!). We felt like Al was a good friend by the time he was finished installing the 2 boilers at my 84 yr old mother's house after her basement was flooded and her boilers were under water. Oh and Piper's pricing was extremely reasonable (best price we received) too! We would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for friendly, awesome, and honest HVAC company. read more

I emailed asking a simple, reasonable question before booking: "Do you charge a fee to come out for a service call?" Here's how Al Toscano (President/Operations) responded, in order: First reply: "No it's free!! We pay for the gas, the tech salary... will pick up some donuts and coffee for you if you like! Maybe some ice cream for your children too!... Also know if you're gluten-free, so we can get everything right!" Next reply: "Do you work for free? This is a service business!... Who is the dumbass? Get your shit together, because obviously you don't understand how the world works, or how business works..." Final reply: "It's going to be even COLDER when your heat doesn't work and you're fishing for someone to come out for free! So my advice to you is, get over to Costco and buy yourself some warm blankets!" All of this over one polite pricing question -- not a request for free work. I never got a straight answer, just escalating sarcasm and insults. Can't speak to their HVAC work, but I'd think twice before dealing with a company whose owner responds to a basic question this way. read more

I had a really great experience with Piper, very highly recommended these guys. I had the heat go out at my place and they were very empathetic and agreed to send someone out same day. Then, when the part I needed wasn't at the supply store after we were told it was definitely going to be there, they got me on the schedule for the following day and were totally flexible with me. Rates were very reasonable and when they came they were clearly very knowledgeable (and even taught me a bit so I understood). Highly recommend read more

Im am completely thrilled with Piper and Heating/Cooling. He has done a tremendous amount of work for me and for many family members. It came time to replace 2 furnaces and coils in my home. Had to be done immediately. I dealt with Al and he immediately came out to meet me within the hour. He had a quote to me that day and had everything ordered and installed in record time! Service was A+ all the way!! read more

After trying a handful of different HVAC companies in Hudson County and continually being disappointed by very poor customer service and deceptive business practices, I was so grateful and relieved to find Piper Heating and Cooling. Al is extremely thorough and goes above and beyond for his customers. He explains exactly what's going on, what work is required, and why, so that you can fully understand what you're paying for. He is fair and honest, and his team does great, efficient work. I couldn't recommend them more! read more

During a recent 90 degree pluss heat wave.....our 17 yr old central AC condenser broke down around 7pm. We phoned Piper Heating & Cooling (who actually answered the phone!) and they set up a service call the very next day. Al (the owner) came out and diagnosed that there was a leak in the unit and it would need to be replaced, they scheduled the replacement and had it installed within a few days. The price was very competitive and I now have a more efficient unit. Thank you to Al and his staff!! - Ray M / Rockaway, NJ read more

Piper Heating and Cooling - Job finished in a timely manner! - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

Al Toscano and Piper Heating and Cooling are the BEST! We had a dire emergency with our furnace, amongst other things, during the night and Al came right over to help us. He and his team made sure, without delay, that we did not go without heat in the midst of winter. They are a lifesaver. They don't just advertise they provide 24-hr service...they actually DO! They are honest, kind and they truly went above and beyond to help us. I don't know what we would have done without them that night. We are now lifetime customers. Al and team, thank you! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They installed a AC incorrectly in my attic and it leaked over the 4th of July weekend. We came home to a flood that damaged 3 floors of our home. They then proceeded for 3-4 weeks trying to correct the issue, it's flooded a second time then they refused a mold testing. I finally did the mold test and my family had a emergency evacuation. We lived in a hotel for 7 Weeks while the mold was removed and my home was put back together. This is a short version because there were so many other issues, like that never applied for a permit with my town. We lost half our custom kitchen. Please don't go through what my family did. Stay far away from these people. Here are pictures to verify my story. STAY AWAY! PS - If this happens to you, Al from Piper is rude and will tell you it's your fault first only to realize it's his own awful work. read more

Beware of them.Their representative showed up at my place and even before looking at the issue he asked for the $75 deductible. After i paid the deductible, he asked me if i had a ladder so he can look into the attci to solve my vent issue.I told him that i dont have one so he went down and brought one and peeked inside the attic and told me right away that my flex ducts are a bad install and it wont be covered by my insurance and offered his services to make a new vent so he can rip me off. Totally unprofessional & looking to rip off innocent people. read more

Easy to schedule the service call and tech arrived on time. Issue was identified, the part was ordered and installed, resolving the issue with the furnace. Everything was explained to me and the tech was polite and wore a mask. Very happy with the result, highly recommend Piper Heating and Cooling! They even followed up days after the service to make sure the heat was working. read more

AVOID. These guys are NOT LICENSED in NJ. I was about to go with them on some PTAC unit repairs, and when I asked for their license number in NJ, they refused to give me their license number. You can't even find them on the State of NJ License Verification System: https://newjersey.mylicense.com/Verification/ No license for Joseph Rogers, no license for Piper, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

EDIT: HORRIBLE BUSINESSMAN- AL TOSCANO IS A LIAR, FRAUD,ANTISEMITIC AND RACIST. After initially having a great experience- my perceptions of Al's trustworthiness and work ethic is completely scoured. He's a terrible businessman. I called because his work that he completed has gone faulty. MY AC is not working less than 10 months later. He told me i don't have the proper documentation and said that he didn't do the work which I have the documentation in which he signed and I signed that its completed. He lies and says he's the dispatcher Patrick although it's actually Al you're speaking with. He called a co-worker or most likely one of his sons after and by accident called me as well. I have him on recording saying that he doesn't like Jews or Pakistanis, that I'm a liar and that he says he's Patrick even though it's him speaking. He is rude, a liar and a horrible person to deal with. Never do business with AL. He's dishonest, not trustworthy and won't admit to his own faults and mistakes. read more

Al changed out my 2 ac/heating unit for my business. This was big project bc it involved cranes, and managing several people. Al's team was great professional and detail oriented. Everything was done 100%. If you need a heating or cooling company think of piper first read more

I had a great experience with Piper Heating and Cooling. Al, the technician, was very professional and courteous. My HVAC unit was leaking--it was sitting in a pool of water. Al came out, troubleshooted the problem and fixed it. He also helped with my humidifier that was attached to the unit. I was very pleased and will use Piper Heating and Cooling again. read more

Highly recommend Piper. Had a few issues with my boiler this year and Al and Patrick worked with me until everything was 100% resolved, even following up to make sure. Very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. These people are a joke. They first tried to price me a job where the work was already done previously and I guess hope that I would never notice. When I then called them and change the specs to something much simpler, which is all that I needed, nobody would return any of my many messages. This includes the sales guy and the people at the office. Clearly they are not interested in any long-term relationships or customer service and I hope you learn from my mistake and never use these people read more

One of my best finds! This company under the direction of Al Tuscano Is exceptional. They have been servicing my AC and heat for over 5 years now. Each and every season they prove to be one of the best services money can buy. There techs are pros and prices are very reasonable. It truly gives the family vibe and I know I would never be cheated like the other companies that have tried. I can't express how satisfied Iam with Piper. A gem of a find!!!! read more

very dishonest business, took close $8,000 from me and never finished the job, to this day my systems are not working, In result I have had to forward this to my lawyer so they can make a claim to take them to court. Al claims he has no association with other "Piper company" he actually has a very close association, long and short save yourself the time and aggravation stay very very far away from this dishonest, & unprofessional company. read more

Our experience with this company was overwhelmingly good. The website was informative and scheduling an appointment was fast and easy. Joseph Rogers, the owner of the company arrived on time and explained things clearly and went beyond what we could have expected in trying to remedy the issue we were having, that being our air conditioner lodged in an old, fragile window. He advised us as to our next step and assured us that his company's services would be available if needed. He would not accept payment. We recommend Piper without reservation! read more

Lic# 13V09361500. 0 Stars. November 2018 Hired Piper Heating and Cooling to remove my old boiler and hot water heater and install a new High Efficiency Williamson Boiler system (GMI 127) with a 3" powerevent in the electrical room. System included Superstaor SSU30 Storage Tank, pressure reducer, backflow and extrol tank. The work was completed around the middle of Nov 2018. I was told the permit and inspection would follow in a couple of weeks. I paid them in full. In the middle of January 2019 the new boiler system starting making noises and the hot water wasn't working some times. Over the next couple of weeks these problems would happen everyone once in a while and then they just got worse. The first week of April the hot water would only work if the heating system was on. I called the phone number on the bill (844) 547 3900 and the person answered said that Piper Heating and Cooling was no longer in business. I reached out to the everyone I dealt with when I was getting the work done in Nov and no one would help me. Part of my contract with piper was a one year warranty. Its the middle of the summer and I need to have my heat on to get hot water. The NJ state Master License #19HCOOO751OO was the licensed associated with this business. I spend $13,900 on a new boiler system that doesn't work. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else (in case they open other business and take advantage of other people) read more

We can't thank Piper enough for all they have done to fix our AC unit. They were precise, reasonable, hardworking and on target with their diagnosis and repair of the unit. The owner personally looks out for his customers and has an extraordinary team that supports him to fix issues. They truly are the best in the business. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that has heating and cooling issues. There is a level of detail, quality, and personal attention that they provide that we have not seen with other companies. They will take the time to tell you what is wrong, answer any questions, and advise you on all things related. Most importantly, in our situation Piper was able to fix an air conditioning unit that no one else could. That is success in our eyes and we are grateful! read more
