Recommended by a neighbor but I must say Daniel was a pleasure working with throughout the whole process for replacing my HVAC heat pump and air handler in my unit. New to this whole thing and Daniel made it easy Ultimately gathered 11-12 quotes and went with them in the end as they showed a lot of knowledge and answered all my questions quickly and promptly They seem relatively fair with the pricing for the work they do. And can certainly say not many who can offer 5+ years of labor warranty if that's what you are looking for -- Service day of appt: although a little tardy, the staff kept everything tidy and completed the job within the day (~7 hours) -- Post service: although heating and cooling is working. We've had the pleasure of having Kevin with us several times, and he's an absolute professional. Stay away form this company. They will tell you one price in person, disconnect your unit and then quote you for 4 times as much money to fix the issue and at that point there isn't much you can do. More info on my situation below... My AC wasn't cooling like I thought it should and wanted to have someone come look at it. The first red flag was despite having a 2 hour window to show up the tech never arrived and no one ever called to tell me they weren't coming or were going to be late. I had to call the office to see what was going on and the tech finally arrived an hour later (3 hours after the scheduled time) and without a mask. Before any work began I had the tech who came confirm the unit was still under warranty which it was. We spoke in detail about what the issues might be and what the cost would be to repair before he did any work. He said if it was a leak that it would be about $1200 all said and done and even though I didn't want to spend that much on a unit that was only 4 years old I agreed to move forward with the leak check and repair. He performed the leak check which was $800 and stated that he could not find the actual leak but it was the outdoor unit that needed replacing and it would be about $400 more in labor to complete the job as the part was under warranty. 2 days later I get a quote for $1800 on top of the over $900 I already owed for the leak check and the service fee. I tried to call and speak with someone to resolve the issue but couldn't get a straight answer. Office manager said she would speak with the technician who told her he called and left me a voicemail but never did. Eventually got him on the phone after days of calls and no answers only for him to tell me the $800 leak check is included in the $1800 (that is still more than he told me it would be but I felt a little better now). Buuuuut it turns out that wasn't true either. I kept asking to speak to the owner but was told he was too busy to speak with me. After several more phone calls and completely losing my patience I was finally able to get the owner on the phone. What a mistake that was, he didn't listen to my complaint, he berated me and said he was doing me a favor. I told him I couldn't trust his company and I would need to hire someone else to do the work and didn't feel it was fair to have to pay almost $1,000 for them to disconnect my unit and not be sure where the leak was coming from. He then threatened to sue me if I didn't pay in full and hung up. While I was on the phone they actually sent a new quote saying there was a new issue that needed to be repaired even though no one had come to look at the unit again. And if that wasn't confusing and aggravating enough they then sent me an e-mail about 20 minutes later saying they were sending my 1 day old invoice for the leak check to collections. They constantly gave fake numbers to get me to go with them only to increase them by 4 times the amount after my AC lines were cut and there was nothing I could do. Zero customer service and no attempt to resolve the issue. Used threats and intimidation tactics to try and get me to pay go away. Save yourself the hassle and choose a company who cares about you and your HVAC system, not people who only want to get as much money out of you as possible. I had another company come and diagnose my unit, reconnect my condenser that Air Temp had left disconnected, do a leak check and get my AC working in a couple of hours for only $650. Air temp wanted to charge me between $2,800 and $3,800!! read more

Its unfortunate that a company based out of the town that I live in can be so dishonest and unprofessional. I have a VERY slow leak in my central AC unit...I know I do. I have an HVAC company come out every August and fill it when it starts losing its cool. Always needs 2lbs, anything close to 2.5 lbs and the unit stops blowing cold air all together. So its May and I decide to be proactive. I call Air Temp Services because they are locally owned and received what I can only guess are fake positive reviews. My technician didn't even do a pressure test, didnt check the compressor or even ask to have the unit turned on before telling me I need a new system. Claimed a leak in the Evap Coil and it was too expensive to repair. I was uncertain about this and asked that he just continue his service call and check the compressor outside. He did and asked me to turn on the system...he came back telling me im 4-5lbs of R410a low...Now I really didnt trust this as i know anything over 2lbs and this unit will not freeze me out, like it did yesterday and today...as he was talking to me the unit had the house down to 68 and frigid. He proceeds to now tell me that there's a leak in the condenser coil outside as well, and there may be a leak in the mainline too. WOW That's a lot of leaks for losing 2lbs a year and not doing a die test. Now the fun begins...he tries to CON me into signing a contract to replace my system at an amazing price of 7500...He tells me, its just to hold the price pt. BS! The contract states its binding and I give them my full permission to complete the written estimate. I refuse to sign anything and now its time for this man to be on his way. Not more than 3 hours later...my home is getting warm...and keeps getting warmer. I went from having a slow leak to the possibility that this guy took out 3lbs of R410a from my system. Now it could be a coincidence....I dont believe it was, but thats just my very educated opinion. Between the tech doing next to nothing to find a leak, no die test, no outside pressure test, just a visual inspection of a coil without even turning the unit on and trying to sell me on a 7500 replacement of a 6 yr old system, and then the surprise loss of 3-4lbs of refrigerant. Pretty sure any intelligent person would know to steer clear of this "business." I personally will continue to inform EVERY PERSON and GROUP that I and my wife know about this situation. read more

First called Sunday evening when the AC went out. On Monday, technician took a look, explained why the system (34 years old) could not be reasonably repaired. By Thursday evening, a new system (compressor, blower, furnace) installed. An attic vent fan as well. Everybody - from the office to (most importantly!) the guys doing the work at the house was professional and pleasant. Cleanup was thorough. I did not comparison shop (it was hot this week!) but given past experience, I think the price was reasonable in general, and especially given the speed and the level of service. After I posted my initial reviews, the owners of Air Temp Service Co. (Mario and Lori) reached out to me, and wanted to make it right. They're a family owned business, and proud of the work they do. We talked about the issues with our interactions with their company. After some additional research, I agree that the Nest Thermostat does need a common wire, and its beneficial that we had it installed. The other issues were due to the technician that was working with us at that time. That technician was removed from the company a few weeks after the work at my house was complete. The technician was responsible for the upcharge on service, and pushing us to replace the CPU for our central AC (this should have been communicated as being a worst case scenario instead of the first step to fix the issue). The outside unit which was the main job I contracted Air Temp Service Co. for was installed cleanly and quickly. It was good work. They've also removed the technician who caused my family so much grief. I would say if you are a potential new customer they're worth giving a shot. They'll take care of the job, and if you do have an issue they'll make it right. read more

So appreciate for the quick service and response from Air Temp. Our AC went out without warning in the middle of August. I contacted Air Temp hoping they could schedule an initial consultation in a week or so. To my surprise they were able to send a technician the following day. The technician advised that I would need to replace my HVAC Unit, as I assumed would be the case. He explained that my current system was very old and they didn't even carry the parts to replace them anymore. The owner, Mario, also stopped by to do a second evaluation to make sure the assessment was correct. We moved forward with ordering the required parts. In a couple days the technician was back at my house to replace the unit to my satisfaction. The home remained cool all summer, and now in November we were able to confirm the heat is working just as great. Air Temp removed the old unit, and even submitted the application to my township for the HVAC permit and provide the details on what I needed to do to pick it up. During the quote period Mario was knowledgeable and provided a quote with options for rebates based on the high efficiency units selected. The Mitsubishi Ductless systems have been working great for cooling and I'm sure the same will be for the winter with heating.
