Very disappointed with Bert (sales department) and some of their workers. Recently a tree fell on my house, breaking my brand new A/C unit and ductwork. They came and replaces it no problem, but one of the workers broke the air diffuser (ceiling vents) because he had no idea how to open the vent and forced it open. Bert is now refusing to purchase the replacement diffuser that his men broke. I will be getting all of my yearly A/C service done by other businesses from now on. read more

I have used Harmony Heating for the past 4 years. They installed a complete central A/C unit and they have been maintaining the units sense the installation. Very impressed by the service we received from Harmony. We replaced the old thermostat with a smart one. Harmony was our first choice to have it done. Andy and Paul from Harmony were great. The first thing they did after they entered our house was to put on shoe covers. They were not only very professional and skillful but also very humble and patient. I was having issue with my AC system in my house so naturally I would reach out to the professionals that service the northern Jersey area. Upon reaching out to Harmony Heating a technician was sent to my residence to perform a diagnostic of my system. The service call was 180 US dollars some of the highest in the area. The technician showed up to my residence at appx 8pm EST. They diagnose the issue as the wrong thermostat for the system that I was using, they told me they will need to order directly from Carrier for these thermostats. Once the thermostats came in roughly 400 dollars each, I needed 2 for my Carrier infinity system. They once again dispatched the technician to install these thermostats only this time around however two technicians came to my house instead of one. They spent 4 hours working on the system, so I started to get concern. Here is my dissatisfaction with this company and why you should go to someone else. The technician approach me after the 4 hours and said this to me " I have some bad news; my manager does not want deal with Carrier anymore so unfortunately, we must take the thermostats back and end our work here. Now imagine if this company cared about their customers, they flat out quit on the job while walking away with the service call of 180 dollars. So now it's almost 100 degrees inside my house, my kids are hot, and I have a husky service dog in my house as well, can you imagine what would it take for someone to quit on a customer like that I was very upset then. unfortunately, I had to call another HVAC contractor to fix the issue on my house, this time around I hired Speers A/C a Carrier authorized dealer, and the service call was 75 dollars. When the technician arrived I explained to him my situation and he immediately said that more than likely the last company that I hired previously did not have the experience working with those AC units that I have because if they did they would have known that you can still setup thermostats that were not of the system and be able to run my AC and he did exactly that, the thermostats that Harmony deemed as not compatible were now running my A/C units without any issues. The technician spent about 2 hours or so working on my system and had it running with no problem after that. I strongly discourage hiring Harmony for your AC needs, if they can quit on me when the conditions where not favorite to them then they can also quit on you. If you're looking for AC service, I would suggest to only go to authorized dealers and installers. I wanted to support a local business that has great reviews on google but once you look inside you will start to notice a very different company with profit in mind not customer satisfaction. read more

There's no worse feeling than when you look at the thermostat and see its 5:05 pm, 62 degrees in the house (25 outside and dropping), and the furnace isn't blowing. I looked up the error codes and saw it wasn't something I could manage, then called Harmony who has shown in the past that they are very good with diagnostics and repair. Two things happened: first, I spoke with Ryan who was absolutely transparent about costs (off hours service pricing) and timing (that it would be about an hour), as well as the real world limitation (they try to stock parts on the truck but can't have everything). Ten minutes later I got a call from a tech who offered to troubleshoot by phone to see if they could get me up and running myself. While that didn't work, I appreciate that effort! The service tech showed up within an hour, and though he spent a while diagnosing the problem and trying solutions, he was unable to resolve and I had to wait overnight. First thing this morning, I had two people jumping in to find what was a obscure and rare problem. They fixed it, and now my heat is on! Above and beyond that, they were not only fair about the cost but they were proactive in handling it so that I felt like I was treated as a partner. After working with Harmony a number of times, I strongly recommend this company. read more

I was referred to this business from a friend and the guy immediately price-gouged me and was rude and condescending when I spoke to him over the phone. I needed a new central air conditioning unit installed and he said "You are looking between $7,000.00 and $8,000.00 for replacement. A lot of the times the door of the closet and frame end up having to be removed because the unit is bigger then the opening." He never even asked me IF the door or frame would have to be removed and it doesn't. He could've just asked me that and I would have told him. Clearly looking to charge me as much as he possibly can. Especially on a referral from someone, you're supposed to at least try to be fair. Not recommended. read more

Our builder had Harmony install our Heating/AC 6 units 10 years ago, therefore when we needed to replace a unit, I called on them. $10,000. job and their service men (kids), were very rude, disrespectful, for instance: The one in charge of the job, was telling me what needed to be replaced, 2 units instead of 1. I insisted in testing out the 2nd unit, which I did. The one in charged raced to the thermostat, when it was time to read the temperature in the zone. Never called me to look with him. Again forcefully telling me that they where here to replace 2 units and that is what they are going to do!! - They also destroyed two of my 9 yrs old rhododendrons. - Moved organized boxes all over the basement, with out moving them back. Mother in-law's stuff was all mixed with in ours, UGGG - Never went to all other units to check filters. When I called Harmony to express my unpleasant experience, they backed up their service guys. "That is not like them, they would never behave in such away." No "Mrs. Marotta, I am sorry to hear this, also since we destroyed your rhododendrons, we are responable to replace them." NONTHING!!!!! Furthermore they are still sending me a bill for $310.00 Do Not Use this company, unless you want to be mistreated and taken advantage of. read more

Beware of this business. I had problems with my furnace and hired them to see what was wrong. They did find the problem, but then said parts were no longer available for my furnace, and so I'd need a new one. Their salesman showed up at my house soon after. Fortunately, I was able to verify with the manufacturer that parts were still available, and in fact I found them myself on many sites on the internet. What they told me was totally untrue. I scheduled an appointment with Harmony Heating to service our furnace. The technician arrived in a timely matter and used proper Covid precautions. After looking at the furnace he said we needed a new belt, but he didn't have one. He also said we needed to change the filter, but he didn't have one. He charged $130 for 20 minutes of his time and nothing was accomplished. He should have at least made an effort to get the belt and the filter. My husband easily located them at Home Depot and another parts store. They are both very inexpensive and he will change them himself now. In addition, the technician said we should get a new furnace. That is something we will consider since it is old. But until we make that final decision the technician should have made an effort to obtain and replace the belt and the filter. We were dissatisfied with the service. read more

My A/C failed during our recent heat wave, day before July 4th. Harmony had installed my unit back in May 2000 so I called them. They said they could come day after July 4th between 12-4. They called on that day at 2pm said they were on the way. Technician "Dan" was very knowledgable and professional. He diagnosed problem as a high voltage cap, replaced the cap, and I was back up and running in less than 30 mins total. Only thing more i could have asked was for same day service. But in the middle of a heat wave during a holiday week, I was grateful. I recommend these guys. read more

I had Harmony Air came out to give me an estimate for a 5 zone ductless mini split system (1500 square foot home). While the guy was there he told me that when people come out to give you an estimate and the job seems difficult and they don't want to do the job, they just give you a ridiculous quote to make you go away. I received the quote for $20,260 - I am assuming the job was too difficult and they want me to go away. I price checked the unit with the model numbers he provided on the estimate and realized that they would be charging me $13,000 to install a $7000 unit that is DUCTLESS. read more

I used Angie's List and HomeAdvisor to find this contractor. I wanted to install a simple duct for an exhaust fan for the kitchen. The person who quoted my wife (free) mentioned the plan was to run the exhaust straight up through the roof not the side of the house as what we requested (the stove is on an external wall). I was never given an official work order, nor any plans, but was assured it would be a short duct with minimal deviation straight up. The worker came the following week and had order to run into the attic with a 10ft bend up the roof line before exiting. Obviously not was agreed upon, the estimator then contacted me and said bend was only 3ft. Clearly they were trying to pull a fast one. Estimator also claimed that it was a fire hazard to run out the side of the house, which I checked with the town which is not. My father threw them off the job within 5 mins and they attempted to bill me for travel time and work time that was not performed. Clearly this is similar to what previous reviewer experienced. I ended up doing the work myself the way I wanted for $100 in parts and days worth of elbow grease. read more

Lowes in Hackettstown "assigned" Harmony Heating to install my central air-conditioning unit. I waited 30 years to have central A/C installed. I financed the cost and had the unit installed at the end of the summer, so I didn't even turn it on the first year. When the weather got cold and I went to turn my heat on, my furnace didn't work. I complained and after some push back someone came out and inspected it. The furnace had worked fine prior to getting the A/C installed so I knew Harmony Heating had to have done something wrong. Well...they found a screw in the furnace motor. Then I noticed there were screws missing from all over the furnace and duct work/piping. Anyway, after they removed the screw, the system worked fine. Then, before you know it, summer rolled around and I used my A/C for the first time. There was cold air blowing out of places that cold air should not have been blowing out of. There were hoses thrown up in my drop ceiling - not anywhere near a heating or A/C duct. I had to have someone else come in and "tape" up duct work. After all was said and done, I got a notice from my town threatening that I was going to be fined for not having a final inspection done. I had been under the impression that the final inspection had been taken care of by Harmony Heating. Guess I should have known better. My personal experience: The company did a messy and maybe even dangerous job; The quality of the customer service was sad and pathetic. read more
