We have a contract for heating and cooling with Air Group and have used their services for years. Last week our furnace died at night and we had no heat. We called and someone came to our house in less than 2 hours and shut down the system. The next morning, a rep showed up and discussed our options for a replacement. 2 days later, a new furnace was installed. The installers were quick, efficient and couldn't have been better. They will put a dent on your wallet. Double or triple the cost of others. A lot of people will say it's worth it if you get quality but the problem is that's not how the industry works. The quality you get really depends on the technician you get, less so on the company. The price though is company dependent and this place will change you a hefty amount. read more

I had a new HVAC installed in July and while very expensive, was a very much needed expense. I selected Air Group based on the recommendations of my neighbors and after comparing with another proposal. I was happy to learn that they partner with PSEG for financing at 0% APR and my sales person, Rich, filed for instant rebates as well. Installation went very smoothly and they made arrangements with the township for the building permit. I had to call for service today and the appointment was fulfilled same day. Service response time has been quick and the technicians that I have met have been prompt, courteous and professional. It was a pricey purchase but I feel better knowing that Air Group will be there if I run into any HVAC issues. read more

This happened last year, but it came back to mind because I just got my PSEG bill comparison from last year and we are a lot more efficient (literally over $1000 less this year) - I feel like if I had brought in a different company I would have spent less in house calls and wasted energy. Let me start by what was actually wrong with my system (as found by a different company): 1) The system was filthy. The inside system required a thorough cleaning (both in the liquid and in the panels), as did the outside system. 2) The system was literally freezing because of the gunk in the inside system. The pump was not working at peak performance as a result. 3) There was a short in the power on the outside system. 4) There was a coolant leak. My first call to Air Group had one of their technicians put $700 of coolant in and a dye pack without asking; leading to a bill of over $1000. When I complained to the owner, their response was "well, would you have said no" - well, if there is a suspicion of a leak (which obviously there was given the tech put in a dye pack), I would not have put $700 worth of coolant in. So, despite the coolant, the house was not cooling down. They sent out another technician (at an elevated cost due to weekend). He did not notice the coils were frozen over or that the system was filthy. He couldn't figure it out and offered no advice because the system was powering up when he was there and there was air blowing out. A third technician came out, he did notice the system was sludgy, but rather than flushing it or cleaning it, he suggested we put a little cleaning vinegar into the pump when the system stopped working. This might be good advice if the system was problematic once a year or something, but not something you should do three times a week. So, we ended up with all that work and nothing was fixed. A different company came in, showed me the things the other company missed, and fixed it. Rebuilding the coil, replacing the pump, cleaning the system, and adding more coolant since the Air Group coolant leaked out cost me less than three separate Air Group service calls plus the added PSEG bills did. The owner did refund one of the service calls and the dye pack, but I just felt very taken advantage of as someone who was new to the central AC system. read more

I had major plumbing work completed on 7/30/24 by two teams headed by Chris Jackson and Steven Abreu. In the span of a few hours I had a new hot water heater and two new whole house water filters installed, as well as a new water pressure valve and all related piping, etc. These teams were thoroughly professional, as well as quick and neat. They showed me how everything operated once these multiple jobs were completed, they explained what they'd done, and tested all water faucets etc. before leaving. We called on Saturday for our ac unit not working, shortly after a technician named Nick arrived diagnosed and fix the problem, the blower motor burned out, he did a fantastic job, described everything he did and left the place spotlessly clean, the explained maybe things that would help in the future of how to maintain our unit properly, the service and quality provided was to notch!!! I reached out to Air Group to receive an estimate to replace my HVAC that was still working but was slowly dying. As a new customer they said they could send someone out 8 business days later. I thought that was slightly lengthy but agreed since the unit was still working. Finally a week and a half later I get a text from the estimator 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment claiming they would have to cancel due to travel complications from the day before. I politely asked if you can still come by at some point that same day of the scheduled estimate which they agreed to later that afternoon. The afternoon arrives, the estimator shows up and was clearly disinterested in the project as it was a "complex" HVAC replacement and kept stating how expensive it would be. I never once asked how long it would take or the cost but whether Air Group could still provide an estimate. Another 10 business days have gone by, I still haven't received an estimate or a follow-up from Air Group and their estimator. Two things, if you have to reschedule, your estimates due to travel complications why didnt you reach out to your home office to have them reschedule on your behalf or have another estimator sent out to make the scheduled appointment. Second, I never received an estimate which shows the individual and their direct management did not care which wasted my time and theirs. I will not recommend Air Group to anyone in the future for HVAC maintenance or new install. The lack of professionalism leading up to the scheduled estimate with the 5 minute cancelation notice said I was best not to do any business with Air Group. If this was an estimate I can only imagine what maintenance service would be like. Lastly, I will recommend Air Group is removed from our preferred vendor list for our condominium association. read more

AirGroup came to do a full system maintenance and replaced the motor free of charge (under warranty). My air conditioning unit was not working on the second floor and the young man who works for Air Group, Alex DiCrosta Fixed everything perfectly. my unit was shut down from a previous technician and that person did not turn it back on and I thought my whole system was broken, but it wasn't. I don't usually write reviews about poor service but dealing with this company's Customer Service was beyond frustrating. They said they aren't taking on new clients even while I'm looking at their sticker for a new water heater they installed in 2018. I only wish I took a picture of the sticker before posting this. Now that I need a service call on my AC, they don't know about the condo unit or equipment they previously installed or serviced. Of course when my wife said we might need a new AC the Customer Service person said she could schedule a salesperson to drop by. I guess that kind of new client is acceptable. In reply to the Company Manager: As you can see by the attached photo we really are a client of yours (water heater). I understand temporary prioritizing resources but my repair was not an emergency and could have been scheduled (but your Customer Service didn't provide that opportunity). Get a second opinion on anything they tell you. We were told our furnace was unrepairable by a tech who was at our house for no more than 5-10 minutes for a cost of $187 dollars. He left and a salesman was at our house within 20 minutes trying to sell us a new furnace. Both said that there was nothing that could be done to fix our furnace and we needed to replace it immediately. We had TWO other companies come and tell us that the info that Air Group told us about what was broken in the furnace was completely false. I will never use this company again and I urge everyone to be careful. read more

I got an initial proposal which needed to include an additional item. The revised proposal included an item that was not clear. When I wrote in to the company for clarification the owner of the company responded and was quite rude. When my husband called, the owner got very upset and started screaming. He did not stop. I feel sorry for the original owner who was quite responsible to have this son take over and destroy his business. In response to the below response from 'Teddy", there is absolutely no record of Air Group having previously investigated my ac system. But sometimes those who respond to these reviews will say anything to avoid responsibility for their actions. Mr. Ted Pierson is hired as a marketing manager for Air Group and I see he responds to all air group comments but he avoids the facts of my initial complaint. Any CEO of an HVAC company who gets on the phone and quickly loses control of himself is in need of professional psychological help. Good luck working there. read more

I called them on two separate occasions for emergency repairs, once for cooling because our a/c stopped working during a summer heatwave and my wife was pregnant at the time and another for heating because our hvac was leaking and flooding the building. Both times I was told that the earliest they can schedule me is 5 or 6 days later. Their website advertises "when you need us, we'll be there" and that could not be further from the truth. Not only were they not there when we needed them, but the person taking the calls simply brushed me off both times with a "that's your problem" attitude. She also made a point to say that we were not existing customers and existing customers have priority over any new customers regardless of the emergency. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I would add that many of the homeowners in our complex use this company so there are multiple company vans/trucks on our property at one time almost everyday. I will make sure to share our experiences any time someone suggests or recommends this company to another fellow homeowner again. I ended up calling different service providers both times and, despite not having any available openings, they sent someone out on those same days because they both recognized the urgency of the emergency situations we were in. read more

I had been doing business with Air Group for more than 20 years and used their services for installation of our Carrier Puron Air Conditioner, Bosch Tankless hot water system, Carrier Hot water Furnace, and AprilAire Whole House Humidifier (for a total cost of more than $25k). Recently they installed a Honeywell T4 Pro Thermostat. This model had worked well for us but for some reason this season when switching the temperature from 'winter' (heating) to 'summer' (cooling) it did not make the changes that were preprogrammed. I was having difficulty following the instructions and called them for some simple help from a technician on the phone to reprogram the unit. First they failed to return my call and when I called again I was told that they could not give 'on phone' advice and would require a minimum $184 service call. I will not be doing any further business with Air Group. read more
