I have used them now a couple times. They are excellent for for relatively minor AC work and haven't used them yet for large scale work but wouldn't hesitate to. They came in recently to add Freon to a 25 year old 4 ton AC unit and was the second quote i had. Cost under half of my first quote, came very quickly, used the Covid PPE so no complaints. I think they are underrated based on some of these reviews. Many other companies see an old unit and want to do all kinds of additional work and Ideal never bushed anything on me. read more

I needed to have my Sub-Zero refrigerator's compressor professionally cleaned. Bob at Western Appliance in Morristown recommended Ideal. Ideal's technician came on time, did a great job, and was reasonably priced. Will be using them in the future for my Sub-Zero's regular maintenance. read more

BEWARE, CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!! They knowingly replaced two parts of a furnace despite the technician thinking there may be another issue (found this out days later). They charged us (a lot) then our heat shut off again hours later. They wanted to charge us again to come back out. Later the person answering the phone told me that her technician mentioned that he thought it was something else (!!!!). No one said anything to us about this. They offered nothing to remedy the situation. They are supposed to be the furnace experts. Someone from the gas company came out and diagnosed the problem in one minute and fixed it for a fraction of the price that these guys charged us. We have not gotten any money back from them despite getting no fix. We have to take them to small claims court. read more

I have been using Ideal Refrigeration for over 40 years. They provide me excellent service and wrap the year both preventive an emergency. I have been a realtor for 31 years and recommend them to all of my clients and friends. I have never had a problem and have never had any complaints. I have started with the did Clarence and now I have been regularly taken care of by the sons Gary and Louis. I have always been treated with kindness and respect. Ideal's prices are very fair. I have never have a complaint. They always tell me the truth even if it cost them a sale. I highly recommend anybody who is looking for HVAC person to give them a call. This company is THE WORST. DO NOT HIRE THEM. I wish I had read the other reviews first before calling them. We were in a pinch and needed the refrigerator in our store fixed. Within two days of the tech coming out it was broken again. We called and left them two voicemails which were never returned. We had no choice but to contact another refrigeration company to fix the original issue and incurred another bill. They take ZERO responsibility for their work. I needed a new A/C and heating system and I heard that Ideal was the most reasonable and best place to call. I spoke with Ann and she was so helpful. When the men came to install the unit, they introduced themselves and began the work on time. They were very pleasant and took the time to explain what they were going to do and how long it would take. They finished when they said they would. They did a great job! I would call them again for any further work that I would need in the future. Their price was very reasonable. I already have recommended them to my neighbors. I was very pleased with the service, price and all the workers. They were very polite and did an excellent job! read more

I have used Ideal Refrig on 2 occasions to service my residential central A/C unit. On both occasions they arrived on schedule and were able to fix my unit. For me, I am always suspicious as to whether the problem is diagnosed properly and I have now developed a trust with Ideal. For me, the problems on both occasions were very minor and were fixed quickly and at a reasonable cost. read more

I made an appointment on a Thursday for the following Monday between 12-4pm to get an estimate on adding a second zone to my house. Obviously I had to take off work and find out at 4pm that they aren't coming. As a first time homeowner and new resident to Morris Plains where this is located it was a terrible welcome to our new community. Based on them making me lose a day of work, not showing up, and not being able to send someone out I would not recommend this company to anyone. Absolutely the worst company ever. They rip people off. I was recommended to this company by my parents who have lived in the area for years and have said they were a trustworthy company. Completely untrue. Our heating broke in the middle of winter and it was freezing in the house, not to mention we have a young child as well... They came to replace a part and "fix" our heating, charged over $600 and left, claiming it was fixed. The heat shut off again, a few hrs after they left. At that time the company was closed for the night and we had to go through another night with our 1 year old in a freezing house. We called them the next day and they told us the technician said that he had a feeling the part he replaced would not fix the problem but they still charged us?? He had me sign the agreement saying it was fixed but in reality he didn't even think he fixed it. We had to have PSEG come and replace the actual part that was broken because we did not trust this company to come back. We did not even receive a refund. Tried to dispute with the credit card company but we had no luck. read more
