I love trees; however, they can cause genuine problems with the sewer lines running out of your house that carry water and sewage. When they are not working properly because those gorgeous trees have roots that overtime have decided to invade the lines often because they easily bring water and nourishment to the roots. When that happens your treatment choices are limited to keeping your house working properly. This can happen to any homeowner, and it did to me. I sought help and Heath arrived to offer choices for solutions. First was dig up my beautiful landscaped front yard and replace the original sewer line. That would have torn up my pavers, stone boulders and brought eleven feet of clay soil to be mounded in front of my main door. However, Heath from Wooley arrived next and offered another solution when he discovered the standard clean out sewer clean out joint had been buried under the concrete floor, now covered with carpet in our finished entertainment room. Heath and his problem-solving crew used their instruments to locate the original cleanout that had been buried under the concrete floor. Their solution was, install an accessible clean out by unburying the original clean-out. A contract was signed for pulling back the carpet and blasting into the lower-level floor. The area was full of artwork, a bar area and leather furniture. After all of that was repositioned into an adjoining area, The careful and respectful Wooley crew installed protective covers and took great care to keep from having particles of concrete escape into the carpet and dust from escaping into the upstairs. They did an exemplary job of protecting my home while coming and going in and out the front door. I was given updates throughout, both spoken and video, during the 2 days install & cleanup. When I was giving my thanks to the crew members near the end of the project. I asked them how they felt about their work. It is rare that a group of workers enjoy their team and the work they do. I received words from them that expressed their commitment to the team and to the work they do to keep homeowners safe and sewer backup free. The result of their work is that the original pipes are now free of roots and a new to me product has been installed inside the perimeter of all pipes that will keep roots from adhering in the future. I did not know such a product and solution was available. I want homeowners everywhere to know about this solution to clean up sewer lines. Woolley Fuel is a great company. I moved into a new home and had never had oil heat before. The man from Wooley came out, and gave me a very comprehensive run-down and education on the care and maintenance of our furnace. They were patient and thoughtful. They serviced the furnace and it ran through the (very harsh) winter like a charm. They also came out at our request to replace the oil gauge which was stuck and in need of repair. They always deliver fuel when it is needed, without my having to order it. They somehow gauge and estimate how much you will use and deliver before your oil runs out. They have always been on time to scheduled appointments - fast and courteous - giving a clear description of what is to be done and then doing it in a timely manner. Now that summer is here, my AC needs to be repaired - it has issues that were uncovered in the home inspection in the fall when we purchased. Woolley also does AC now, so they will be my first choice to have the work done! I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Woolley is a family owned business and a long term member of the Maplewood community. Overall I have received excellent service through the years I've been a customer. Recently Craig M. replaced my circulator motor in my steam/hot water system and he did an excellent job. In fact all of the various tech professionals have always known how to service my heating equipment. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is for the recent decision to charge service contract customers a fee for every service call when they already pay a significant contract fee to know a service person will come when circumstances require that assistance, I often go years without requiring a call but when I need that assistance I want to know its there and not for an additional $159. Service is what differentiates a company like Woolley, and I am disappointed by this recent change as I had an issue just 2 days after Craig was in my home, but for $159 quoted extra I held off till speaking with Frank the following day. read more

There aren't enough good things to say about Woolley. Their people are the best!! They are skilled, they are competent and most of all HONEST! My basement almost had a major disaster, having the already ancient hot water heater leak. Art D called his team, Dave showed up a short time later & 3 hours later it is fixed. The basement is clean of any residual debris after their work & everything was explained to me in a way I could understand. I am CONFIDENT the job was done right. What's nice is, the people who show up are people you know you will see in your home the next time you need routine service, so when they show up should you have an issue, it's not some guy you don't know trying to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. Service response from them was good but I always felt like they were ripping me off so when I had a furnace issue I did a bit of searching and came across Woolley. Decided to give them a try because they had great reviews and are local. Couldn't be happier. Worked with me to get a convenient appointment, showed up very close to promised time, diagnosed the problem quickly and the charges were great compared to the last company. He came out just two days after a massive blizzard and was incredibly helpful, took the time to explain what was going on with our very old furnace, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was in working order before leaving. I continue to be impressed with Art. He not only has excellent service and knowledge, but he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of my family. I have an old boiler and an old home and I literally only feel comfortable with Art servicing it. Last year he spent an ENTIRE DAY at my house and would not leave until he felt comfortable that it was working properly. So I dont usually leave reviews but Art D came to my house after being visited by the "Service Professionals" from Union NJ. The other companies told me i needed 1000 dollars in repairs, when I refused to do that and told them i wanted more estimates, I was charged 100 dollars for his "time". Art came in and spent literally 2 hours to diagonose the problem. He tested all elements of the system, and even laser measured the temp coming from the outlets. I recently had my heating system replaced by Woolley. I have an older house with narrow basement stairs which didn't make it an easy job for them when it came to removing the old equipment or bringing the new unit in. Ed and Dave made it look so easy! They worked together, even called in extra hands to get the unit down the stairs. I can't tell you how hard they worked to get the job done quickly so we could have heat. Many thanks to the Techs at Woolleys, sometimes it takes team work! On the coldest night of the year (so far) my furnace started to make some awful noise. A phone call on a Sunday night, brought Craig from Woolley out make sure that our heat would continue during the night and to diagnose the problem. We have been Woolley customers since we bought our house in 2012. The previous owners used Woolley for almost 20 years and told us to stay with them. I am very happy we did! They are always helpful and professional and Craig M. is very knowledgeable and so nice! We added central a/c when we renovated and Woolley perfectly maintains that system for us as well! Chuck W from Woolley is amazing! He's the hero of our family right now. He came and fixed out boiler after two days without heat. A technician from PSG&E had misdiagnosed the problem as a cracked boiler; but Chuck did a very diligent process of elimination to identify the true root cause (a broken sensor and damper). Joe F came to do an annual tune up on our heating unit. Very nice, professional, and respectful. He managed his work area well (left NO mess at all) and afterwards, provided me with a synopsis of what he had done. Then he went above and beyond the call of duty and started talking to me about our hot water heater as well. Art and Chris were fantastic. They were scheduled for the annual maintenance on our boiler and everything went so smoothly. One of our pumps had stopped working and wasn't feeding heat to a zone in the house. When they arrived, they reviewed our heating system, they explained all the options thoroughly and completed their work efficiently. It was a great experience.
