My washer was causing a toilet backup and we called polite plumber to schedule an estimate. Had…read morehigh hopes since they were able to come out next day and take a look. The guy was here over two hours late and there was no call nor text to inform me of his lateness (which totally would've been fine as I understand other issues get in the way but at least should have been communicated). Finally after two hours of waiting, we had to call for them to clarify that he was running late. When the guy finally got here, he quoted $800 to clear our main line and an extra $300 if he needed to remove the toilet for access. A full $1100 without tax and tip! Not to mention, we clearly stated the issue and the guy had to "recreate it himself" to see what the issue was and by doing so, flooded my entire basement AGAIN and left us to clean up his mess and causing more damage. We called Roto Rooter after the quote to get a second opinion and they had a guy out in less than 12 hours and gave us a quote over the phone of $350 to clear the main line. They did not re-flood our basement and quickly helped fix our issue. They were transparent that access through the toilet, if needed would cost extra. Avoid Polite Plumber, not affordable, ridiculous prices, causes more harm than good.

Filling a bucket of approximately 3-4 gallons of water in 24 hours. The block was removed and a cold water stem repaired. I was informed all was fixed. $925+ later (2.25 hours), the drip is now filling faster at approx 4-5 gallons in 24 hours. I have a well and that creates a hyper-utilization of the well pump. The 2 young plumbers were very pleasant, neat and courteous. However, I called the office and asked to speak to the owner to address the continuing leak and he still has not called me back over a week later. Plus the initial visit charged me $185 per person ( 1 was an apprentice) just to show up. This owner should be respectful and return a customers request for the work to be completed the RIGHT way. I am calling another company now. First time utilizing this company which apparantly has been in business a long time. Will not use this company again and am passing the message to as many people in my town/ surrounding area of my negative experience. Mr. Koster, I am very disappointed in your inaction and lack of interest to resolve my plumbing issues completely.

I called The FixIt Man in Stanhope, who came within an hour also.
