My washer was causing a toilet backup and we called polite plumber to schedule an estimate. Had high hopes since they were able to come out next day and take a look. The guy was here over two hours late and there was no call nor text to inform me of his lateness (which totally would've been fine as I understand other issues get in the way but at least should have been communicated). Finally after two hours of waiting, we had to call for them to clarify that he was running late. When the guy finally got here, he quoted $800 to clear our main line and an extra $300 if he needed to remove the toilet for access. A full $1100 without tax and tip! Not to mention, we clearly stated the issue and the guy had to "recreate it himself" to see what the issue was and by doing so, flooded my entire basement AGAIN and left us to clean up his mess and causing more damage. We called Roto Rooter after the quote to get a second opinion and they had a guy out in less than 12 hours and gave us a quote over the phone of $350 to clear the main line. They did not re-flood our basement and quickly helped fix our issue. They were transparent that access through the toilet, if needed would cost extra. Avoid Polite Plumber, not affordable, ridiculous prices, causes more harm than good. read more

I had left a message with the Polite Plumber on Friday night due to a serious plumbing issue in my home. In the interim, I had made an 8 am appointment on Saturday with AJ Perry. The Polite Plumber had called me back I believe near 8 to check up to see if I still needed someone, which I said I didn't. Well, I was wrong and AJ Perry didn't show. We had a trip out of town for the weekend and made our appointment with Polite Plumber on Saturday as we were headed out. The woman who took our call was SO nice and understanding, and already picked up a pretty sour mood and assured us someone would be here between 1-3 on Monday. I was called around 12:15 to see if it was okay if someone would be there a bit *early*. Yes! The plumber still arrived promptly at 1 pm. The problem was not as serious as we had initially thought and there was no attempt to upsell or talk over my representative at home. He was extremely polite, upfront, and efficient, and now we have use of our home plumbing again! The entire experience with Polite Plumber from their response to my initial inquiry to payment and completion of services was polite (they're well named), professional, and efficient. We will definitely be using them again (hopefully not often) for any of our future plumbing needs. read more

These folks just charged my sister $700 to change both heating elements in her hot water heater! Shame on them. It took 1.5 hrs and assuming a generous $150/hr + $80 for the two elements (100% profit baked in at this price) , a fair price would have been $305. Oh, they also charged her $400 to unclog her toilet, albeit on the weekend. Still, outrageous. In their defense, it seems all the trades have lost their shame post covid when it comes to what they are charging. The plumbers created a leak in an upstairs bathroom that caused excessive damage to the Dining Room below when they installed new faucets that we had purchased separately. The ceiling, chandelier and Mahogany table in the Dining Room were all damaged and the owner, Willy, refused to accept any responsibility at all and treated us with distain. My husband has been in Technical and Mechanical positions for over 50 years and did not agree with anything that this owner claimed. Additionally, the cost for just labor (1 1/2 hours) and 4 new valves was close to $1,000. Find someone else! Avoid at all cost! read more

We have a smell in our sink drain. I've been trying to fix this for over a year and finally decided to call an "expert". The technician that showed from them was absolutely polite. But he did nothing in the way of helping. He came and checked my traps and said they were working and then said "smells are tough" and charged $60 for their diagnostic fee. I asked what would be recommended for cleaning the pipes and he didn't know what to recommend either. The smell still persists and I'm lost on what to do at this point to fix. read more

We tried to install a new sink faucet and discovered our old metal p trap was too corroded to make a good seal. Next day we called and they were able to send Cameron out within a couple of hours! He not only replaced the P trap and fixed the faucet, but he also fixed a leak in our bathtub and a clogged kitchen sink. He was able to quickly diagnose the issues, give us a quote, and complete the work right then and there very efficiently. Never again! To fix what was considered a "minor toilet rebuild"...at the cost of $57 for parts and $247 for labor, is absolutely ridiculous. That's over $300 for twenty minutes worth of work. Plus I had to be home three times in order for the job to be done correctly. First the chain was cut too short, next the tank did not fill correctly so each time it was used one had to flush twice. Now I am crossing my fingers it was done correctly so I do not have to deal with this company again. When I questioned the owner, Willie, about the cost of the labor I was told it is expensive to run a business and pay a receptionist so that's why their prices are a bit high. (The receptionist called twice to schedule an appointment that had already been set.) I don't usually write a review, but if this can prevent someone from feeling the way I do after using them..mission accomplished. JOB: I was looking for a plumber to come in and re-route a heating pipe I discovered in a wall I was modifying to create a "pass-through" from the Kitchen to the Family room. I knew the pipe needed to be cut and rerouted as well as the heating system needed to be purged. Willy showed up on time. He showed up just in time before the last plumber was leaving. They talked for 10 minutes or so... Probably to discuss the job IMO. Willy used the term "Magic" quite a few times describing how the job was going to get completed. He would not quote me on the spot. He said he had to refer to his book of prices. Willy told me he would email me a quote before the end of the day. Needless to say I received the quote that evening after I emailed him asking for it. He split the charges which I asked for. Here was his quote: (Don't even ask what is the 99.00 for the Home Care Club is for. Willy never replied when I asked him.) "HOME CARE CLUB 99.00 DRAIN HEATING SYSTEM. IN APPROVED LOCATION REROUTE 1/2" HEAT LINE WITH 1/2" HEAT PEX. REFILL AND PURGE SYSTEM 632.00/575.00 OR- REFILL AND PURGE HEATING SYSTEM 235.00/205.00" I find it curious that Willy came in just under the other Plumbers quote. The other plumber quoted me $800.00. I have used this company several times. Extremely polite, like the name says, over the phone. Unlike many contractors, they provided an exact time range for arrival and called when he was on the way. Upon arrival, Paul scoped out the job and gave a quote. The Polite Plumber runs a lot of coupon specials which you can Google and this chopped $30 off the price. The price was a little high but the work performed is excellent quality. I would rather pay a little more for a plumber that knows what he's doing versus one that doesn't. He identified the issue, showed it to me, then fixed it. He also replaced a kitchen faucet in a small fraction of the time it would have taken me to do it. These are my go-to plumbers. Initially, we got off on the wrong start with Polite Plumber. The 1st technician charged me, then left - but we still had the same problem. I complained. The owner, Willy, called and really listened. Apologize. Then offered to send one of his best technicians. The 2nd technician did fix the problems (that 1st guy left). Plus, the 2nd technician offered to improve a couple other items. This process did take MUCH of my time; something I was hoping to avoid when I hired them. I can't get those hours back. HOWEVER, to Polite Plumbers credit, they do have good customer service. The customer reps on phone really ARE polite. So is Willy, the owner. I would use Polite Plumber again; I would simply request that they not send the 1st tech rep. In summary, I really do think Willy (owner) cares about his customers and really DOES want his technicians to do a great job and leave his customers happy. I recommend Polite Plumber. I have had them at my house several times now and still no resolution to my problem yet they have no problem charging and over charging. I recently bought a flipped home and the flippers did a horrible job of the plumbing. I had the polite plumber come out a few different times to fix very easy fixes (that only a plumber would know what it was) the pricing was great! I would ask for Aaron though. I had another guy, but can't remember his name but was really nice as well! I had him also install a water softener which we desperately needed. I then had a major "leak" and had them come out. I'm not sure of the guy's name, but he was a cocky guy which just rubbed me the wrong way. He tried to tell me it was the toilet hose connector from the wall.... NO! Not for a leak that POURED from my bedroom ceiling! He just reset the toilet and said hopefully that will do it. Well guess what?! It didn't! It wasn't a leak at all, it was from ice damming on my roof. So he charged me for something I did t even need. So make sure to ask for Aaron. I'm still giving them 5 stars.
