You HAVE to get the challah French toast. It was absolutely delicious. The biscuits and gravy were bomb also. They use sausage gravy and it was very flavorful. I could have drank the coffee black too, it wasn't super strong or bitter, just right. :) It's small inside so I wouldn't have more than 2-3 people per group. Watching the guy make all the food super quick was amazing. I adore a great breakfast place and Stav's Diner is at the top of the list for Columbus. Tiny location, perfect for two, definitely not great for groups. One of my places to grab breakfast! It is a popular spot so coming early or weekdays would probably be best because there is very limited seated and parking. It is a diner style restaurant with a few tables and bar seating. Not the best for groups. I've had pancakes, french toast, biscuits and gravy, and the blte sandwich and they have all been great!! Everything always comes out fresh and hot! I usually see the same faces when I come in and they are always friendly! I would love to get in for lunch soon! read more

We love Stav's! What's not to love?! The eggs and omelets are fluffy, the hash browns are SO CRISPY and the pancakes and French toast are the BEST I've ever had. Truly. I'd like to have this everyday for breakfast/brunch. Friendly service too! We are so lucky to have this neighborhood diner. My husband can't wait until covid is over so he can pretend like he's an already retired man and read the newspaper with coffee and have a perfect breakfast at the bar every Friday or Saturday AM!! read more

First time at Stav's and it didn't disappoint. Love the traditional old diner feel. Nothing fancy just good food at a good price. I am not sure how I missed this place before since I live nearby, but it has instantly become a new favorite. The food was exactly to order and delicious. Who knew that some eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns are so much better than others? Well, Stav did apparently! I will never go back to regular toast after having the Challah toast. The coffee was great too. The staff were friendly and worked together like a well-oiled machine. The peach pie I took home was just wonderful too. Finally able to stop in for breakfast. As others have mentioned it is a tiny place so plan accordingly. The wait staff was helpful with menu options and such. The food was as expected - fresh made and wonderful. The price was good and the coffee excellent. It was a tad noisy in the space which cause our server to not hear our order requests but it wasn't a big deal. We did have to ask for more coffee more than once. I'll definitely revisit and try some other menu options. read more

The worst corned beef hash I've ever had. It was more potatoes than corned beef. I didn't even taste corned beef. I ordered over medium eggs, which means the whites are cooked and yellow is runny. They were light over easy. Bacon was very limp and not cooked all the way. Service was great people were extra nice though. I was a lead breakfast cook for 5, so I know my stuff. Stav seems to be a wonderful person! Charlie too - they make this diner-in-a-strip quite a cozy folksy place. It's the kind of place where people know each other, joke around, and inquire about elderly friends' health. Even the mailman is in on the "family feel." This is a quaint, clean diner with Stav himself at the back counter griddle. Just good hot, fast diner food at its best. Oldies playing overhead and both customers AND Stav singing along in little snippets. The French toast was excellent....actually deliciously crisp on the outside and a fully cooked creamy on the inside. Decent diner coffee and expertly cooked eggs. Came for breakfast on Saturday about 9am. The parking lot was filled and upon entrance it's very small. There is a large wrap-around bar that can probably seat 15 people. There were about 5 tables that seat 2 each and a table on left when you walk in that can seat 4-5 people. Definitely has the old school diner look and feel to it. Staff was nice and pleasant. Menu pretty basic. It will cost you $8 for 2 eggs, breakfast meat, hash browns and toast. It did take a while for the food to come out (over 20 minutes) and it seems the people at bar are served first. We had already ordered and a couple came in after we ordered and by time we received our food they had already ate and paid and were walking out. Food was pretty good. Plan for about 45mins-hour on weekend for table time or for fast service definitely do take-out. read more

I gave it one star for my most recent visit. Don't get me wrong, I love this place. Everyone has been friendly and attentive. The food is always fresh and tasty. The diner is always clean. This last visit upset me and I honestly wasn't sure if I'd right this review but I feel like that's the only way this will get any attention. I went in one day on my break to get breakfast to go. I sat by the door waiting for my order and people watched (not the people eating that's rude). At some point quite a few people came to the register at once to pay. Once they were all taken care of one of the waitresses began to count out the drawer. It seemed like she licked about 15 of her fingers to separate the bills. TWICE I watched her lick her fingers as she did this and sneezed a couple of times as well. My face at the time . I looked at the two people eating their breakfast on either side of the register they seemed to not be bothered. If you've been in Stav's you know there are seats right by the register so I thought that was pretty inconsiderate of her. Once she was done counting the money she starts walking towards the back. Thinking that she's going to wash her hands before she does anything else. She doesn't! There are a couple of plates on the counter waiting to be served. She stops and picks up some butters and drops them right on the plates and serves the people their food with those same nasty ass fingers. On the way back she still didn't stop to wash her hands. I should have said something then and there absolutely. I was just very shocked by what I saw. Because my food was packed by the owner I just grabbed it and left. She asked if I wanted forks or anything. I kept saying no. I honestly couldn't even enjoy my food once I got it. I barely ate. I've never seen anything like it. Stav's has always been pretty great. When we want home cooked breakfast that's where we go but that experience had my stomach so turned I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

This has now moved up to my favorite diner in Columbus. So good. What's better than having a handsome guy cook you breakfast. Nothing. Stav is charming, great at what he does and so sincere. I had the S.O.S special, my husband had the hot corn beef sandwich, son had the double cheeseburger (huge sandwich), and my daughter had the patty melt with fries. The breakfast menu was simple but complete, with many options for a la carte items as well. Eggs, breakfast meats, toast, pancakes, and French toast were the staples, with a few sides as well. Lunch is also served here, with several sandwiches among the offerings. Everything was good and clearly made in-house. It took a little while to get our food but the place was busy as it was Sunday, and the staff is just a few folks so you'll have that. As I and my husband have recently relocated to the C-Bus area, we found this "Gem" of a diner!!! As we at First approached a neighboring restaurant chain business that didn't appeal to us we went on to searching nearby for a more satisfying experience, and discovered Stav's Diner!!! If you are looking for an American classic experience you will find it here:) along with ,(at least for me ), a serene atmosphere , with all the pleasing points of an old school diner from days gone by. I being originally a Jersey girl and a long history in the food industry, this establishment won me over:) My honest opinion, if this establishment has not been as yet on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" it most definitely should be =) A must check it out for yourself! read more
