A friend told me we had to try this place so on a recent trip in town, this was our first stop for lunch. It is beautiful inside with lots of color and decor. We were seated quickly and our waitress Ashley came over immediately. Drinks were quickly brought and she also gave us a sampler of three cheesecake bites. I ordered chilaquiles verdes - my favorite when I am in Mexico. I added the shredded chicken and let me tell you, these were delicious!! I loved every single thing about them. We also got a breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was phenomenally good. Our kid got pancakes and he ate the majority of it, so that's a win for us. Was excited to try this place for breakfast after hearing how it went viral last year. They now have two locations in town. My friend and I got seated right away. We were there at 10:20 ish on a Saturday morning. They were pretty busy but most customers didn't linger too long. We both got the Mexican coffee (cafe de olla). Yum! A nice big mug! It came with a side of two cookies. For food, I got huevos divorciados. It doesn't come with meat but I wish I had thought to add some! It came with boiled potatoes on the side. I'm sure the family who owns this place cooks this way at home! Interesting touch! The roja was more tomato flavor wise rather than the usual complexity of a salsa. I liked the verde a bit better. My friend got chilaquiles and added chorizo. It was definitely a generous portion. We also shared mollete frijoles. It was bread topped with beans. Delicious and my favorite part about the meal! I'm 6' 1" and weigh 180 lbs.. Usually for breakfast I have either a bowl of oatmeal. a two egg omelette, 1 waffle or a bowl of mini-wheats. Today however I opted for my first Mexican breakfast. After searching the internet I decided on Orale Guey Mexican Cafe Grill & bar. The interior is a large colorful space decorated with wall art. They offer both booth & table seating with a large bar serving various alcoholic beverages. Once I was seated the waitress came out with a complimentary serving of three small cheesecake bites. They were delicious. I ate one and took two to go. I usually drink water for breakfast as opposed to coffee or tea. I know, strange. I started with the Andale Guey yogurt ($7.50) I should have stopped there. It was delicious and about the calorie load I have for breakfast. But I was here to sample a Mexican breakfast so I also ordered the Chilaquiles Rancheros ($16.99). This was calorie overload to the max for me. Beans, 2 sunnyside up eggs and nachos was more like dinner. While everything was tasty, it was just too much. I hope this place stays open forever. It's the only place that genuinely feels like authentic Mexican breakfast in Columbus. We had Julio as our server and he was attentive and gave quick service. The vibe in there is great, lots of Mexican art work and the cool thing is you see so many different type of people in there enjoying eating great food. This place gets a lot of hype. I put off going because it's a bit off my usual paths, I'm not a big breakfast person, and especially because they are known for their chilaquiles and I am not a fan of those. Or wasn't. Clearly I've only had subpar chilaquiles. I got them here, a little grudgingly, and holy cow- they were great. The chips were firm and crispy, pretty well till the end. I think that's the issue I've had- too many places they come out already soggy. These did soften, but only the ones on the bottom, and they still had a lot of body and texture. I got verde, and that sauce was very tasty and slightly spicy. Comes with beans, onions, eggs your way. Mine were cooked to the requested medium, a good sign. You can add proteins and I added steak. Big thin slices, a little tough but not bad, seasoned nicely. Each component was very good, and as a whole they were simply great. Wow. Lots of other interesting items on the menu, and I almost went for one but figured I should try their specialty. This is the former Block's location and though that's missed, this is a worthy replacement. Excellent food. Service was also great. The place has been completely redecorated. Definitely our new favorite brunch spot for authentic Mexican food. The menu has a little something for everyone which makes it easy to go with a group. I've gotten a few different things but my favorite is the huevos rancheros. I also really love the rompochino. All of the hosts are helpful and accommodating. I LOVE the coffee here. The cinnamon and sugary taste means no need for cream or sweetener. Portions are huge, food comes out very quickly. They close at 2 currently, but are looking to get a beer/wine license and then they will open for dinner. That's a future thing. One of the owners daughter did a TikTok video that went viral. That has help jump start awareness. Nice breakfast menu and all items are large portions, and priced around $15. I think they could use under $10 selections. I'm glad Columbus finally has an AUTHENTIC Mexican breakfast spot. I was blown away with the amazing flavors. The wall art is incredible and service is awesome. We got seated right away and the waitress brought over two little pastries to the table - turns out it was bite size cheesecake! For food, I got the red chilaquiles and my husband tried the green ones. The red ones were good but I liked his better since the green ones were a little bit more spicier, both were tasty though. Ashley was super courteous and gave us her thoughts on different items throughout the menu. We had recently been to Tucson and tried champurrados and found that Orale Guey had them on their seasonal menu. We ordered and were so happy as these were amazing. We ordered and split the Orale Guey and Churro Waffles. Everything was absolutely delicious, the servings were large enough to split and there would have been enough to take some home. Our server was knowledgeable and made sure to check on us as she truly wanted to know if our food was how we liked it and if we were enjoying ourselves. The artwork in this establishment is beautiful,there is room for larger groups as well as small groups depending on your needs. Plenty of parking. Really nice place. Food is amazing. We came on a Sunday they were very busy, we had a 30 min. wait. Vristy the manager took care of us. She is lovely and very passionate about the restaurant. The 5 star reviews for this place have to be fake... our lunch took an hour and a half from start to finish. Their chips and "salsa" I just their ranchero sauce served hot. They skimp on the portions of protein and is extremely overpriced for the quality. The waitress was very sweet and attentive and let me try a sample of their Mexican coffee called "Cafe de Olla" which is infused with cinnamon and brown sugar. It was good but too sweet for me so I opted for just regular coffee. My meal was delicious. It was called "Huevos Al Gusto" and I got the rancheros kind. I've been wanting to try ever since they opened and finally had the opportunity. I knew that they were very busy so I expected await being that it was Sunday we had a 40 minute wait but I had heard that the wait was worth it. I ordered huevos rancheros and my dining companions had classic French toast, churro French toast and a torta. When it came to the drinks, we had a water to diet Cokes, and a coffee . our server brought A coffee for one of the diet Cokes OK no big deal. I know they were busy, but we had to wait forever for the Diet Coke then had to wait forever to ask for her to bring some cream and had to wait for her to bring the cream for the coffee. We finally got our food served well three of us got our food served and I always check to see if it's hot because that's my big pet peeve and it wasn't which meant that it had been sitting there before it was served. I know they were busy, but they need to figure out how to get her food out to the table not only that, but then we had to call somebody's attention and ask for silverware when they had all that time before they brought the food to get us silverware before food is served usually if I am served food that isn't hot I sent it back but they were busy we had waited 40 minutes to get a table. We had waited to get our food. We waited to get silverware, so we just ate. Spending $80 not including tip on A cold breakfast that we didn't thoroughly enjoy was quite disappointing.
