The cozy velvet chairs makes this place a nice little gettaway for tea and catching up with friends. I appreciate there is no upcharge for non-dairy milk here. They have an oat milk option as well as a 2% lactose-free option. The service was great and the cashier was very friendly. My friend is lactose intolerant and I'm vegan so we both were looking for non-dairy options. There was something for the both of us. The cashier was knowledgeable about the menu and how to accommodate to our dietary preferences without much fuss. There wasn't much of a wait time which was nice too. I ordered their matcha latte, light ice, no sweetener, and added strawberry puree. It was perfect! I look forward to coming back to try their other drinks.

With that in mind, with the decor and the aesthetics in here, I would recommend dining in over grabbing a drink order and doing a to go because I think that's where their strengths are. Would be cute for photo backdrops or to catch up with some tea and some tea with the buddies. For our brunch/late breakfast order, we got the: 1) Corn Milk with Pandan Jelly (less ice, less sugar): -Even with these adjustments it was still quite sweet, I'm not sure if it was from the run off from the jelly. I think if I was going to order it again, I'd get it with no sugar and just go with whatever natural sweetness the corn and the jelly would add in normally. -Only other place I've seen corn milk at was Unu Cafe in SoCal, but this one was a bit too sweet in comparison. I'll keep that in mind for future orders. Panda jelly was pretty good though. 2) Salted Hojicha (less ice, no sugar): -Creamy and milky, the saltiness added an extra depth of flavor. Ordering it at zero sweetness, again was a very good call, because my boyfriend who is intolerant to anything sweet said this made him ill because it was too sweet?? It ended up being my drink in the end and it was not bad overall. 3) Smoked Ham & Swiss Cheese Pockets: -Imagine those Pillsbury Crescent rolls but with smoked ham and Swiss cheese inside. Simple, delicious, and note bad for breakfast. 4) Dubai Chocolate Cake: -Our friend ended up eating this as his dessert and said it was overall okay, though a tad dry. 5) Smoked Bacon Egg & Cheese Croissant: -It's a normal breakfast croissant. Nothing to write home about. I don't mind trying this place again, just as a sit down restaurant.

Speedy, efficient service with a smile and since it was Memorial Day weekend, the ambiance to the cafe was already quite lively and bustling with customers. Very clean and modern inside with plenty of seating and there's outdoor patio seating too, which is quite nice on a sunny, mild weather day. For our brunch we got the: 1) Chicken Pate Chaud: -One of my favorite pastries and truly the pinnacle of "Asian fusion" if you think about it. -Flaky, delicate exterior. Moist, slightly chewy give to the interior, along with the tender, chicken inside. Good stuff each time you get it, just a bit messy to eat with the flakes coming off with each bite. 2) Pandan Waffle: -Not as flavorful as I would have liked, but it' hits the spot and it's a simple snack item. Edge was a bit crispy but it was a bit soggier in the middle than what I would have liked. 3) Instant Noodle: -Actually this was just an instant noodle cup but it was for a brand that I have never tried before, so that was okay in my book at least. Ordered this not entirely sure what to expect, but if I truly knew what it was, I don't think I'd get it again. But I did enjoy it in the following week later on. I love instant noodles, so not bad! 4) Coconut Bun: -Very coconut-y. But a bit dry, so I'd skip in the future. 5) Ham & Egg Cheese Bun: -Got this for a friend and he said it was alright. 6) Matcha Banana Foam: -I got this less sweet, less ice and with soy milk. -Even with less sweet this was pretty sweet from the banana foam. It's alright, but is nowhere near as good as Airoma's or Da Vien's. 7) Black Coffee: -I ordered this with no sugar and a cream egg. Cream egg definitely made it a twinge sweeter, but my boyfriend said it was overall okay. I don't mind coming back to sit in and dine in here in the future.

There's some general outside seating, but the the shop is too small to have indoor seating (I ended up waiting for my drink outside because it can hold about 2 people before it gets awkward). The service itself is great--ordering and receiving my drink happened quickly, and the drink I ordered came with an osmanthus syrup that I could definitely taste (there were bits of the osmanthus in the drink, which could be a plus or minus depending on personal preference). The matcha was fragrant, and I did enjoy my drink. I will say that it does err on the pricy side, at around $7-9 per drink. I liked my drink, but maybe not enough to justify the cost, especially considering there isn't any space to sit down and relax. Definitely worth a shot if you're interested in some of their more unique items, but probably not a regular stop, at least for me.

So far I've tried the yuzu, mango cloud, passion fruit, and hojicha brown sugar, and there wasn't a miss among them. Plenty of flexibility on sugar and ice levels too. The setting is a nice bonus. It shares a space with a small market, another café, and a food stall, so there's plenty to eat and browse. It's tucked in the back of the complex, which keeps it quiet and low-traffic, and there's plenty of seating. Parking is easy too, with a lot right there. The reason this isn't five stars is the cup system and how my return was handled. If you're staying in, you can borrow their cups for free, but for to-go you need to bring your own vessel or pay a $2 deposit on one of their jars, refunded when you return it. I get the idea, and it's nice for the planet, but in practice it's a hassle. When I brought my jar back on this visit, the staff member inspected every inch of it, then discussed it with a coworker right in front of me, who then said something along the lines of "we can't sell that, but it's okay, just take it." It wasn't said to me directly, but I was standing right there, and it felt uncomfortable. I'd run the jar through the dishwasher, nothing unusual, and friends who came in afterward returned theirs the same way with no issue at all. They also didn't apply the discount for bringing my own vessel until I asked. Between the pushback on the return and having to ask for the discount, it was a frustrating experience. Honestly, I'd rather a café just use compostable paper cups. Great drinks, but I'm on the fence about coming back.
