Tried the new Latte Macchiato - really liked the creamy flavor of the foam. They made it with whole milk and you can taste it. Cute flower(?) design on top too! Staff: very friendly. The guy at the register helped me pick this out, I told him I need a bold-flavored drink to work. Environment: excellent clean, much more spacious that a regular Starbucks. A little disappointed. I used to frequent this Starbucks often and am now coming back after a short while. I have noticed a difference the staff which seems to be a little less customer service oriented and more like a job that they are just here to do. It's a little disappointing since this is one of the largest Starbucks in the area and there's no real equivalent space nearby. Further, going to the restroom in this places is sooooo annoying. The minute I close and lock the door I have someone giggling the door handle and knocking from the outside. Install the damn deadbolts like every other Starbucks so that the outside patron can see whether or not the stall is occupied. read more

Ive been coming to this starbucks for 10+ yrs. Its prob one of the busiests ones in irvine due to northwood high school and sierra vista middle school but they do a good job of pumping out the orders quickly. The staff has always had a smile on their face and now with the designated mobile parking, its been really easy to grab n go. read more

All men may be created equal, but not all Starbucks are. This one has the Clover brewing system, and apparently it's the only one in OC, maybe even LA? But it makes sense. This area is as hoidy toidy and Starbucksy as it gets. My friends and co-workers mock me for my ever so specific venti iced Pike Place Clover brew with soy milk and 2 packets of splenda... but this is the only place I can get it, and whenever I do, the cashier always says something to the effect of "Oh that's gonna taste great!" Enter Starbucks...or not. The line is to the door. Awesome, the line is moving quickly enough...HOLD UP! What's that I see in the distance... A lot of people impatiently waiting for their drinks. I get in line with those people and the waiting begins. I hate waiting. As I wait there, I watch as one young man makes the hot drinks and one young woman makes the cold ones. Ordinarily this would not be a problem except for the fact that it's rush hour on a weekend. Did someone call out sick? Now I'm sick...of waiting. I watch as the cups pile up to the left of the barista. I notice that they don't place the cups in a line as they're ordered. Now I'm thinking "where is my damn cup?" as I eyeball the mess. I start getting territorial as I see my "spot" taken by someone who ordered AFTER me. Now I'm sick and irritated. 25 minutes later, I exit with my Venti Latte and Very Berry Hibiscus. I'm irritated and cussing out my husband who wanted the damn latte. I'm not coming here again unless it's an emergency. Guess what. I never have coffee or tea emergencies. Few tips for the management: - It's great that employees are friendly BUT socializing should be kept to a minimum when it's fooking busy. One of the better Starbucks locations. Very clean and well run. The staff are friendly and efficient. Most of them remember my drink when they see me walk in. I have to tell them if I'm going to change it. The area manager is really good and is frequently there working the line and making sure that things are running smoothly. The couple of times that there have been glitches, they've offered me a free drink coupon without my even having to ask. Most of the Starbucks serve very similar quality so the things that set them apart are ambiance, location and customer service. I rate this in the top 20% of Starbucks I've been to. Good location and very convenient for me, right across from my house. And there's a lot of nice outdoor seating. read more

This has to be thee worse Starbucks I have ever been to, which is sad because it's the closest to my home. Not one, but all the baristas here are clearly upset with their lives and it shows through their speed and customer service. I have given them three different visits, in hopes that they were just having a bad day and it got worse every time. The very last time I went, they took so long to make my hazelnut macchiato that I wanted to jump over the counter and make it myself. This location should be 5 stars. Every time I come here, I am treated well and my drink is perfect. Compare this location to the Culver/Walnut location, and I'd give this location 10 stars. (See my review on the Culver/Walnut location for more detail) This location can get very busy, and the staff still manages a joke and a smile while creating the artfully crafted beverages. I know I'm late in the game here but I'm not a coffee person and have just discovered the Valencia Orange Refresher. Holy YUM. Cold outside or hot, I don't care. These are killer and I highly recommend at only 90 calories for a grande. This Starbucks is constantly insanely busy (what Starbucks isn't?) but it moves pretty quickly and the coffee maker people - baristas right?? - are fast and fun to watch. I like to pretend they are animals at the zoo and I stick my face right up onto the glass and breathe really heavily and stare while they make the drinks. Just kidding. I'm not a serial killer. Really that would be creepy but I imagine that's what it must feel like on a Sunday when there are 25 people tapping their feet impatiently waiting for their caffeine fixes. So kudos to the weirdo baristas and their multitude of plugs and piercings for keeping their cools and always making those bomb refreshers! read more

I love this Starbucks. Reading the past reviews, I guess I can relate to some of the negatives. However, I honestly think this is one of the best places to study (for me) and they make my vanilla iced coffee the BEST. DRINKS: Yes, there is a long wait, if you come at a busy time. This goes for all stores though, no? I would say this Starbucks is very crowded at peak times (morning + evening rush hour). ALSO, it is near 2 high schools: Beckman and Northwood which makes it even more crowded. Of course, all those high schoolers need to get their "coffee" fix... regardless, I would say despite the crowd and the busy-ness, their drinks are superb (in my experience from other Starbucks) STUDY ENVIRONMENT: I have NO problem finding a seat or a place to study when I come. However, I do try to avoid all the rush hour times. I usually try to come early in the morning to reserve a spot for a while if I have a lot to get done or I tend to come after 3pm and have no problem finding a spot as well. I LOVE how spacious this store is... A plus would be how friendly and funny the workers are here. This store is also 5 minutes from where I live so how can I go wrong? This is my go-to coffee/study place. Am I biased? I seem to love it compared to most of the other reviews but for now, I am a total fan. Yay! Was I really expecting a SB barista to drop some coffee knowledge on me? Should've known better. But all kidding aside, this is my favorite SB in the OC. This location is on the way to my son's daycare, and many days I need a caffeine fix in between a full day of work and a full night with a crazy energetic 4 year old! I know Starbucks has a reputation for burnt and over-roasted coffee, but I've heard great things about the Blonde, so I decided to try it. Turns out they just run out of the drip Blonde, but the barista suggested I try the Blonde with the Clover. I didn't even know about the Clover machine, but it was explained to me that it is like a "reverse French Press". Seeing how I brew French Press at home, I decided to give it a go. The flavors were full-bodied and really accentuated the subtle floral notes in the Blonde. I decided to try each Reserve coffee, and the .50 to 1.00 increase in price is definitely worth it. This location is the closest to my home but for some reason, they always get my order wrong. It's really bad. It's gotten to the point where I'll drive to a further Starbucks just so I don't have to deal with the hassle. Maybe because they are busier than the other locations but I've come at early non busy hours and the outcome is usually the same. I normally stop by this Starbucks location whenever I get the chance since it's close by my home. Went in today, and of course there's a line. But hey, you got to have your Starbucks fix right? I was waiting patiently in line, then it was my turn to order. I walk up to the cashier, and I was surprised times 100. She was smiling, and her attitude was exactly what I needed to get my day started. Regardless that there were about 10 customers in front of me, she didn't look stressed out one bit. She asked how my day was going, took my order, and kept her groove going until I left the door. Who is this amazing cashier? I don't recall her name, but she was working around 8 AM on August 21st, 2017. If the manager sees this, that gal deserves a huge applause. It's cashiers like her that give ambition to those early morning workers. However, I was very displeased with another employee. Don't know her name, but she wears glasses, has a tattoo on her back upper neck area, and has a few more tattoos throughout her body. The cashier that was taking care of me asked if this other employee could void her transaction since she made a mistake. I assumed that this other employee was someone in management. So this other employee answered in a very rude manner where she literally said "does it look like I can help?" I right there wanted to say something, but didn't want to cause a scene in front of others. The manager of this location needs to have a serious conversation with this "other associate" that I have described descriptively. Other then her, A+ to the cashier that left me with a smile. You know you can't resist your guilty pleasure for STARBUCKS chains like me... 'cause I've been a loyal Starbucks fan for OVER A DECADE since I was a wee little teenager. Anyway, what makes this place BETTER than other local Starbucks chains is... A) They're open 'til 10:30PM, which is the latest any Starbucks within 3 miles is open 'til... this is great because I'm a student that pulls LOTS and LOTS of ALL NIGHTERS and just before I'm about to pass out from studying, I speed over to Starbucks at 10:25 and buy my quintuple shot of iced espresso... B) They OPEN at 5:00AM.. and this is great because just when I'm getting super duper tired and the coffee from 10:25PM is wearing off... I CAN COME RIGHT IN AT 5:00AM AND GET SOME MORE COFFEE. Staff is also really nice and friendly here, and the shop has a few more tables and whatnot than other locations, so it's also ideal to study here. Also, A/C is nice in here, too. Some locations nearby are just stuffy as hell. Bleck! My only concern is the high-schooler rush, because all of the kiddies come out to play after school 'cause it's walking distance from wherever they're going to school at and it sometimes becomes hard for me to study... however, I think most Starbucks by schools are like this. This is a usual haunt for me on occasion when I have to meet people nearby. Ironically I came here two straight days. It's a bigger than the average location with plenty of seating indoor and out. Service is pretty good here. I ordered two lattes and the line and my order got to me pretty fast so I was on my way. The bathroom is awfully dirty than the average location. Weekends are the worst here. The parking is horrendous and it doesn't matter how far away you park. I won't begin to tell you how soccer moms in SUVs can't drive worth a damn. read more

Ok.. before the coffee connoisseurs out there I call my friends give me trouble reviewing a STARBUCKS, hear me out! Not every place in Orange County has a clover machine. I heard only five Starbucks in have this machine in OC. I tried their premier Clover ice coffee called 'Peru' which tasted all right. It was like the normal iced coffee with a slight kick at the end. The kick taste like a light citrus and a light crisp. I repeat 'light' twice because it is not the kinda coffee that's gonna wake you up in the morning. Much like their iced coffee, it is weak! I'm not sure it brought back the small coffee shop taste to their coffee, but I'm happy they're admitting their coffee taste like water down coffee beans! In terms of internet speed.. it's so-so. I noticed the internet is a little faster near the bathrooms in the back. The outside seating area is pretty sweet (smoker friendly). It's in a primo location on the intersection of irvine blvd and culver with plenty of room to get some work done. Boom. read more

This is the worst SB ever! I don't like to say that, cause I'm a SB girl and a gold card holder since 2008....but it's true. I was carrying my little girl, had my hands full, had my drink, and asked for iced water. They told me I had to wait through all the orders ahead of me. Really, jerks? I ordered that water with my drink, and now have to wait in line and start all over? My arms were falling off after carrying so much stuff. I would never recommend someone go to this SB. Hope they have a better one for the neighborhood soon. It took them over ten minutes to get around to my water. Ridiculous! I am very specific when ordering my caramel macchiato. I like it upside down, easy easy ice (10 cubes), and topped with caramel. Not too hard to understand right? Apparently it was for the worker that took my drink order cause she laughed when I said 10 cubes of ice and when I got my drink, half the cup was filled with ice and the drink tasted like watered down milk and caramel. I had the drink re-made, it still tasted awful. My boyfriend told me to leave but I ended up turning back so I could get a voucher for next time. When I asked the worker for a voucher, she kept questioning me, insisting she re-make my drink instead and basically refused to give me a voucher. After a few minutes of explaining that I simply didn't want to waste anymore time there, she handed over a voucher. Needless to say, I will NEVER come back to this Starbucks again. read more

Seriously how hard is it to nuke a ham sandwich, put it in the bag and then hand it to the guy that ordered it 20 minutes earlier. There were 5 of you behind counter and you bagged my order with someone else's because you didn't read the order! You were too concerned that you didn't upset the person that ordered 4 things but got a surprise 5th sandwich than to worry about the one you didn't do. No instead I had to ask about my order and hear you talk about your mistake and gloss over the fact that someone got an extra and is gone but that the one who was still waiting is of no concern! I came in this morning at around 7:08 am and ordered a double smoked bacon cheddar and egg breakfast sandwich and a petite vanilla bean scone. Both things that SHOULD NOT take much time to make and I didn't care if they were warmed up or not. Then we went and waited in the really crowded waiting area and we heard this one guy go up to the lady calling out orders and ask where his food was (also a sandwich) and say that it's been 12 MINUTES now. That's insane! I'm not waiting 12 minutes (or more than that probably) for a sandwich and a scone! I would have been late for school if I had had to wait that long and as it was I was going to be late for my carpool, so we left. Bunch of Hardworking and Lively Mofos On numerous occasion, I keep on seeing a staff member carrying a white bucket and scrubs to the back with the look of shame and didnt pay to much attention to them.But when you are there for 2 hours and you see them going back and forth alot you get suspicious. I come here with friends because they always have outside seating available. The one star was for the 3 employees that thought cleaning the bar (1 hour before closing time) was more important than taking my order. Two in the bar area saw me but continued to ignore me even when i said excuse me. employee finally decided to take my order but wasnt very happy about it. it took less than a min to make my ice coffee but everyone seemed to have some sort of attitude. it was easter sunday so maybe that was the reason, but still unacceptable. read more

Yes, it is still the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. After my previous review, I received a message from the manager apologizing for my experience. As such, I thought that some of the issues I had (that are not in line with other Starbucks) have been rectified. No, unfortunately they haven't. We came back and gave it another try and they still stack up the cups until they hit at least a dozen before they move it to the bar for processing. I would be okay with cup stacking I suppose if both registers made one stack but again, it is always the one on the right. Epic fail. I would only come to this location if you only wanted plain coffee since that's served by the cashier. Anything else is totally not worth the wait. I'm glad I have a Nespresso at home and Starbucks syrups are available for purchase online. The staff here should visit the Starbucks by Irvine Spectrum (the one across the corner from the plaza with Walmart, Living Spaces and Costco). That one is so incredibly fast. I've gotten my drink in less than 10 minutes with the line at least 13 people deep. read more
