I had completely forgotten about it for a while, but when I heard they were running a promotion, I downloaded the app and headed over to the 85°C Bakery Cafe in Tustin. I ordered the Sea Salt Coffee, and while I was trying to figure out where the QR code was, one of the cashiers was so kind and helpful. She even told me that I didn't need to pay because I was using the app, so I got to enjoy my coffee for FREE today! Sea Salt Coffee is delicious even when you pay for it, so imagine how much better it tasted when it was free! It was absolutely perfect for a hot day like today. The inside was also super clean, and everyone was so friendly. I think I'll definitely be coming back with my laptop next time. And of course, I'll have to grab one of their pastries, too! Haha. The Irvine location is usually pretty busy and crowded because it gets so many customers, but I actually really liked the Tustin location. It was much quieter and less crowded, which made it a really nice and relaxing place to enjoy my coffee. I was really disappointed with the cleanliness of this location. I came in around 10 a.m., so fairly early in the day, and the bathrooms were already dirty. The counters were dusty, the glass and windows were dirty, and even the cake display areas didn't look clean. I ordered a salted caramel coffee, which was actually pretty good, although definitely on the sweet side. I probably should have ordered it less sweet. I also picked up a few pastries, and those were really good as well. Unfortunately, the cleanliness really overshadowed the experience. For a bakery where food is being prepared and displayed, I expect the space to feel clean and well maintained. Overall, it's smaller and has fewer desserts. I picked up a couple of my regular favorites including brioche and taro bun. Both seemed bland and didn't make my taste buds happy. Our friends were pleasantly surprised, and funny enough, since there were 7 of us, we cut 7 pieces off each slice so everyone could get a taste. This is the closest 85 Bakery to me, so it's my go-to bakery. They have a great selection of pastries, breads, and cakes. If you visit later during the day, selection is slim. I recommend downloading the app to get deals. The service is okay. One downside is that drink orders can take quite a while. read more

We have not gone to an 85C in probably a decade, and I was one of the those customers that used to line up at the first 85C location in Diamond Jamboree in Irvine. Things have changed since then, especially the quality of the bread and the size of the breads and baked goods. As everything else, prices have continued to rise, but the size of the breads have continued to get smaller. We decided to purchase 2 breads, ones that we have never tried before from 85C. Maple Danish $3.95 Brioche $2.85 Once we made our way to the cashier, they were not very friendly. We also could not believe that 85C makes their customers purchase a bag for their items. This is not a supermarket. What a huge letdown for customers when they have bought a few items to have to purchase a bag, which is provided at other bakeries. This is not to help the environment, this is greed, plain and simple. (Also funnily enough, I had JUST removed a reusable bag from my sling as I exited my car to the bakery.) Regardless, we did not purchase a bag for our items and carried them to the car. I think it'll be another decade before we step foot into another 85C. Parking was a bit difficult to find, probably due to the holiday season, but with one way parking, it is a bit difficult to enter and exit, especially as this plaza has only one main exit with stoplights. Service was basically nonexistent, not very welcoming and not much interaction to begin with - a bit like a robot. It's easier to grab things and helps check out faster. I would still want to know if there's fresh pastries but I didn't stick around long enough to know if they still do that. The selection of food was limited. This is more a comment on the service. I felt like the employee who was stocking the shelves was rude. Getting fresh pastries here at this location is easy. As it's in Tustin the liens here aren't as long as the ones in Irvine. Staff is friendly and I like how fresh bread are constantly coming out and being restocked. They have an app where you can earn rewards so that's good. Weekly guilty pleasure. I have to admit I pick up a box of 85 Degrees weekly for my family. They are SO good! Be warned if you get there right when they open, you will want to buy the whole store. Good news? These delicious baked goods are also affordable! Every time I grab a box, I am pleasantly surprised they come out under $20! Our favorites are the milk boba bread, and mochi egg tarts. If you are unsure what to get, they always mark "popular item" for their best sellers. The bakery itself is alway clean with lots of options. They change up their baked goods and always come up with new items. We just got their new apple tarts and cannot wait to try. I was in the area and was craving bread and was pleased to find this location. Parking was a large lot shared with other businesses like Smart & Final. I arrived sometime before noon on a Tuesday morning and was pleased to see there was no line and they had a great selection of baked goods. They also have a kiosk with a touch screen that allows you to order your drinks in case there's a long line. Inside had plenty of seating and it was very spacious. I was in the mood for matcha so I ordered an iced sea salt matcha latte and was very happy with my drink. It was not overly sweet or salty and the matcha flavor came through. All the bread was fresh and some were still warm. I love the soft and chewy texture of all the bread. Some of my favorites are the milk pudding, bacon and cheese, and marble taro. I decided to try the matcha choco bun and it was good but the matcha flavor did not really come through for this one. I also really enjoyed the bacon & cheese, it has the perfect savory and garlic flavor to it. This is my favorite 85 Bakery in the area. The sea salt jasmine they make here is unmatched! This time, I ordered the sea salt matcha latte which is a new item. It is so creamy and has a good matcha flavor! The workers here and always so nice and helpful. It's a clean location and has a good amount of seating. There's also seats by the drink area so you can sit while waiting. This location also has an ordering kiosk for drinks. It's super convenient if there's a long line. I don't think you can claim rewards or app deals on the kiosks though. If you come to 85 Bakery often, you should definitely download the app!
