Donut star especially the one in Tustin has amazing quality donuts! Everyone here greets you with amazing customer service and their donuts are equally as great. Their donut holes are the best in town and their original glazed found the perfect balance between doughy and airy. Also anything remotely cinnamon flavor you see at the store here I suggest you get, they pack it with cinnamon!

This is one of our absolute favorite donut places. The owner, Mei (hope I spelled that correctly) and her family are absolutely wonderful and caring. Can't say enough about them. There are many loyal customers that frequent this place, and I totally understand why. I don't think there has been a single time where they didn't add a little something (like extra donut holes) to an order. Wonderful peoples, wonderful donuts, wonderful way to start off you day.

Great Donuts and Coffee! The customers at this shop are hilarious. The shop has great donuts and the people working here are really nice. The lady customers make this a trip worthwhile. At 7:00 in the morning the ladies are sporting LV and Chanel bags to pick up donuts. I hadn't realized Irvine became such a high-end city that you have to sport your name brand purses to pick up donuts. The best part was the lady with the Chanel jumbo getting into her minivan. I am pretty sure that purse was worth more than her car. But, I guarantee you 100% fact the doughnuts at this place are priceless and way more valuable than any of the purses I saw today. Want delicious yummy donuts and a good cup of coffee and great service? This is your place.

This place warms my heart and my tummy. The hospitality in this place is off the charts! You will always be welcomed and feel like home when entering this store. The two employees are so generous and very hard working individuals. The donuts here are great but my personal favorite is their jalapeño ham & cheese croissant. They are always kind enough to heat it up for you and you will find a pleasant surprise of two donut holes inside your bag with your croissant. The croissant is very filling and it's very soft with a buttery taste and also packs a lot of flavor with the cheese and hints of jalapeño in almost every bite. The croissant is $5.85 which I believe is a fair price for the amount of food you get. They do charge $.50 for credit card purchases though so make sure you bring in cash! I love this place!

I was excited to try this Asian inspired dessert shop located in the 4th St Market but the hours…read moreare a bit sporadic so I finally made it out recently. Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.

It had the perfect level of crunch and flakiness to it while maintaining a consistent pistachio filling. Best part is that the pistachio wasn't overwhelming and did not overtake the whole croissant. WHY DOES THIS BAKERY HAVE A 4.5+ RATING?…read more This is our first visit. Clearly the pastries are a very high level of quality and french cuisine. We had breakfast - an omelette, some bacon and lamb sausage, potatoes, and a cappuccino. we also had some pastries. All excellently prepared. We're going to try something else besides the omelette next time...it was OK but not "out of the park" so we'll try something else next week. Service - after we ordered at the counter our food was delivered to the table which are all located outside on a well-shaded patio. We always split our dishes - my wife and I can't eat an entire plate of food. It's not "table service" - they don't come back and check you or help with water or drinks, etc. Whatever you want you must return to the counter. But service at the counter is very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is an outdoor cafe....noisy neighbors, wind when it blows, dogs, all the regular stuff - good seating and umbrellas with some areas naturally shaded...lots of tables relative to the size of the shop. Very friendly staff. Why do my reviews get over 1,000 views every time we visit a new place? We don't know but it seems consistent. We feature very critical reviews - we rate high but include serious critiques. Maybe that's it.

I like getting the plain vanilla one, and it also comes with a little cereal at the bottom that gives it a good crunch. The coffee jelly milk is also great, it feels similar to a boba drink but it's a lot cheaper. Whenever I come here it's always the same lady who I'm sure is tired of seeing me lol, but she is so sweet and kind and patient when I have trouble deciding what to pick here! As for the pastries/desserts, the custard pudding cup deserves more love! I'm not sure if it's housemade here, but if you've ever been to Japan, it tastes exactly like the ones you buy from the konbini! I remember I would buy one almost every day of my trip, so I've grown cravings for it that Hamadaya satisfies in OC. The bavarian chocolate cream is a fun decadent pastry if you're into chocolate- comes with so many chocolate chips. The cheese bread is also a go-to for me if I'm in a savory mood- it's exactly what it sounds like, cheese and bread but who doesn't love those two things? Egg katsu sandwich is good if you're looking for something more substantial. The strawberry shortcake I've tried here was also good, but I did pick it up near their closing so it felt a little dried out. Definitely would recommend coming here earlier in the day for fresher and better selection of pastries!
