SOO SLOW. I was one of 2 people to order and it took them 15 minutes to make an iced coffee. Just painfully slow.

Dear reader,…read more Bovaconti Coffee in Fountain Square remains one of my favourite coffee shops, and we stop there whenever we come to town. It is the sort of place that feels special the moment you walk in. A lot of people rave about the beautiful space, and quite right too. The shop has a gorgeous, old-world feel in a historic Fountain Square building, plenty of seating, and a lovely outdoor area that is very dog friendly. The staff always boast a delightful disposition that makes you want to smile and enjoy the rest of your day as well. As for the coffee, I love the iced Mayan Mocha. It is like a mocha with a kick and extra flavour depth, and it is absolutely delicious. The dark chocolate, honey, cinnamon, and cayenne give it a little warmth and complexity without losing the joy of a proper iced coffee treat. They also have some really high-end pastries to choose from. I love the lemon loaf, and some of the more complex, unique pastries make it feel a bit more elevated than the average coffee stop. Overall, it is clean, beautiful, welcoming, and always worth the return visit.

There's plenty of natural light, but also several cozier, dark areas perfect for coworking. When the weather's nice, the patio is unbeatable - they offer ample patio seating as well as chairs along the sidewalk. I usually choose something from their seasonal menu, and recently I tried the iced blueberry brown sugar matcha and it was amazing. *Free parking directly outside the building on Woodlawn Ave

So I whipped out my trusty sidekick: GOOGLE! (Cue superhero theme music.) I asked Google to find me drinks nearby, and, as always, it came through like the magical genie it is. Five minutes later, I was pulling up to Tiger Sugar, hydration hero, reporting for duty! When I arrived, I scored a parking spot right in front, already winning! Only one person stood between me and my thirst, but let's be real: I'm so indecisive, I probably gave them time to finish their order and contemplate the meaning of life. I circled that menu like a vulture with commitment issues, but thankfully, the super-friendly lady behind the counter came to my rescue and steered me toward the passion fruit black tea. One sip, and it was a full-blown dance party in my mouth. I'm talking conga lines, disco balls, the works! This drink checked every box, though it was a bit on the sweet side, so next time I'll dial it down a notch. Not that I'm adventurous, I'm absolutely ordering the same thing on my next visit. Change is scary, okay? Go check them out. It's worth the drive to the Greenwood area.

I could definitely see it being a great spot for a date, studying, or just hanging out and socializing. I tried their sushi tacos and they were DIVINE! Even my husband approved! The ladies in there so nice! Such a cute spot with great food and drinks. Highly recommend giving it a try!

I did have to wait about 10 minutes in line and another 30 for my food, but once I got my food I felt like it was worth it. I did the 3 for $25 which lets you mix and match any of the tacos. I tried the tempura crunch, spicy tuna avocado, and spicy salmon. The salmon was my favorite but they all were excellent. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the crunchy shell gives it a really satisfying texture. It's not crumbly and won't fall apart after one bite. I also added a peachberry lemonade which was the perfect mix of sweetness and tart, very strong peach flavor I'm glad it wasn't subtle. They also sell croffles which I would've loved to try ( I made the mistake of planning on ordering it to go AFTER I ate but the line was long again ) but I will definitely be coming back soon and I'll be trying one lol!

My friends both got the ginger lattes and I got a tiramisu latte. Flavor and balance was really good, service was pretty fast, plenty of seating, and beautiful interior/exterior. There is space to work and many people were on laptops, but I grabbed my drink to go. You'll have to go up a set of stairs to get to the coffee shop, so be mindful of that. It's also kind of warm - they had a bunch of loud fans going. I don't know if that's just because it's summertime and the building is old and harder to cool or if they had water damage from all the rain and are drying out. It didn't bother me but noting that in case it does bother others.
