We grabbed dinner at Tex 808 down the way and I wanted to stop in for a drink. I had to try their limited drink, Iced Blue Coconut Matcha (around $7 for a grande). I wasn't sure what to expect. It looked good, but their concoctions can either be a hit or a miss. I happy to report that this was definitely a hit. The blue coconut foam was smooth, creamy and coconutty. It blended well with the matcha. I hope they keep this drink on the menu for a bit longer. This location is at the Moanalua Shopping Center. A lot of military personnel must frequent this store as it's a military family store. It is by military bases and housing. The store was clean and bright. It's a good place to chill with your friends. My hubby was waiting in the car, so I took my drink to go. I was in and out within 10 minutes. read more

Tipping is not mandatory in this day age especially when you place an order over the app. The baristas here are very personal & will hold your drinks off to the side if you don't tip Just fyi~ I would STAY AWAY from this location if possible. The baristas are rude and take things way too personal when it's just coffee.... read more

I always enjoy coming to this Starbucks, there are familiar faces working, which makes it feel welcoming. The decor is nice, and it's close to home, which is a big plus. It does get busy (being near a military base and in a popular area), but they move quickly and I've never had issues with my orders. The staff is friendly and patient, which I really appreciate, and the space is always clean and well-kept. I know not everyone loves the cup-writing policy, but I personally enjoy it; some of the drawings are really thoughtful. I recently got a cup with a beautifully drawn palm tree and little doodles added to the design, which made my day. As an online student, I also like studying here. It has a nice balance where it feels lively but not overwhelming, and there's outdoor seating if you want something quieter. read more

This location is conveniently located right near off-base military housing neighborhoods, right next to the Navy Exchange which makes mobile pickup easy - BUT, the audacity of this branch to have Military Coins, Posters about Military Life, and a Flag stating "Military Family Branch" and NOT offering a military discount is RIDICULOUS! It just feels like a slap in the face to walk in as a military family member with your service member, look at all of the military references all over the place and then being told "sorry we don't do a military discount". RUDE. This review would be 1 star but the nice baristas don't deserve that. Obviously this is a district issue and not their fault. read more

Sorry but this is the worst starbucks. My iced brown sugar shakes espresso tasted like just straight milk. No cinnamon, no flavor whatsoever just milk straight from the carton. Actually. Correction. It tasted like water and milk on ice. Im so so bummed because being a busy sports mom. I had only a little window to grab a coffee before I make the 45 min drive to the next game. This is the worst starbucks I have ever visited! Starbucks corporate do better your workers are running around like crazy and there's not enough staff to support all the people coming in. Now with that being said I waited 30 minutes for a breakfast wrap that I never got. First they make the wrong item then they keep telling me it will come out soon. By the time we hit the 30 minute mark they told me oh sorry we gave it to someone else. I turned around to leave he goes wait don't you want a $4 recovery card! Mind you I payed $7.75 for this wrap. they weren't even willing to do a total refund. I said no you can keep the $4 have a nice day. Like can I get my cash back I don't want a recovery card I won't be visiting Starbucks anytime soon. so many better coffee shop out there. So disappointing. Pumpkin Spiced Latte in Honolulu, Hawaii... It's August 27,2024, and Triple Stars Day! I didn't have my personal cup with me, so I ordered on the Mobile app! It was so quick that my order was sitting for me at the Pickup area! I enjoyed the cool, air-conditioned environment with convenient restroom, and free shared parking (at Moanalua Shopping Center) and pleasant music! I looked at the merchandise - especially the sale items... I have to get outta here quickly before I purchase something! Friendliest vibe... It's what I always feel whenever I step into this Moanalua Shopping Center location. Parking does get crowded at this shopping center though it's a matter of preference I usually do find one that I don't mind a bit of exercise this Starbucks isn't the largest when it comes to indoor seating but is very nice and clean and always get a genuine pleasant greeting whenever I walk in. I was actually looking for a specific cup walking in here and didn't find it sadly but the staff are so nice and friendly that I usually end up getting something and is always made exactly how I like it and fast along with the great vibe the seating is a popular choice for many with various types makes it a lovely place to get cozy and comfortable. Five stars. Always a nice and clean place to visit, wherever you go to. At this location, just the same. Today, had the chorizo and egg sandwich and the caramel macchiato. The sandwich was great as ever, even if it's previously frozen and reheated. No can go wrong with that. The caramel macchiato was a bit flat and bland today. Had to stir in the froth on the top and caramel into the coffee for a sweeter flavor. Otherwise, the drink was hot and good. Inside it was clean, but people sometimes take the big table and spread out like its their home. That bugs me because it sends a message that no one else can't sit there. But, I sat on the table anyway to irritate them. Ha! Service was pretty fast for the amount of people that were in there. Got the food and drink rather quickly. Anyway, Starbucks is always a high recommend to visit, when you feel like it. read more

NEX situated next to the Moanalua Shopping Center few years ago opened Starbucks in the foyer amongst the umbrella kiosks has excellent staff friendly and quickly makes our order! I don't have photo of their layout of their comfy stylish seats that looks like a couch at home. The comfortable seats could be for the military men and women in uniforms come to NEX to relax and enjoy except when I'm there I hardly see anyone sitting in uniform all in civilian clothes. I don't think Starbucks makes great coffee (which is why they have so many flavors to cover up the coffee taste ) but they are GENIUS at marketing, and the familiarity of Starbucks makes me feel at home wherever I am in the world. I could be thousands of miles from home, but if I see a Starbucks in a foreign land, it's like seeing a childhood friend. That being said, I am probably the most boring Starbucks customer. I order a grande americano, no cream or sugar unless there is a unique drink only available in that country - (some of the best Starbucks drinks are only available in Asia.) Not all Starbucks are 5 stars for sure, so why would I give THIS particular one 5 stars when I am a coffee snob? The staff. They are so cheerful, (doing what must be a very tiring, boring job, and having to deal with people that are in a rush most of the time!) Their good cheer is contagious, and it must rub off on the coffee, because this morning's coffee actually tasted really good! Hope this crew never leaves! read more

"Remember, there are no bad crews, only bad leaders." - Navy Seals Master Chief John J. Urgayle I rarely write reviews for mega chain coffee shops like Starbucks, but this location, in the middle of the mighty trifecta of America's Navy, Army, and Air Force, is a diamond in my eyes. It's by no means a fancy reserve, but instead a spacious location where the baristas know the regulars by name and always warmly greet all entering. The walls filled with Military history and artwork. My fave is the shadow box art! My bestie and I come here for convenience and everything caffeinated! This morning we decided to order the Astrology themed drinks! Aries drink: Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew for me! Cancer drink: Ice Blonde Vanilla Latté for sweet bestie! Not only was it hella fun to order, but oddly our astro drinks were on point on our taste buds too! And what sign are you? In the end, I won't hesitate coming back to this Starbucks on Valkenburgh st... we both assumed (w/o googling) this street is named after a dead war hero or a glorious G.I. Jane! 99% of the time I'll eat a light breakfast at home before leaving in the morning. 1% on this morning that I almost forgot about unused GC. Needed a heavier picker upper while my intuition told me leave home earlier due to traffic, inclement weather, and potentially busy Friday. Enthusiastic, cheery and bright eyed team worked together to make, prep and hand deliver final beverages on counter and heated, packaged foods on a protected mat. Waited a while before my order was called. Double-smoked bacon cheddar and egg sandwich: Bacon tasted light, not oily, and barely tasted smoked flavor. Gooey cheddar and light tasting egg goes well with bacon on two flaky buns. Two thumbs up! Tall iced decaf apple crisp oat milk caramel macchiato: Perfect proportions. Decaf blonde espresso complemented oat milk, apple and caramel. Able to taste distinct flavors unstirred and stirred. Green light to stir your beverage without losing any of the flavors. Starbucks is Starbucks right?! Yes and no. Pretty much same menu but what makes each Starbucks location different is their staff. Food and drinks was awesome as usual but what I really enjoyed was the service. On this past trip I visited this particular location in the Moanalua Shopping Center twice. I never really complain or write reviews but Friday 5/2 I placed my order on the app. After placing I realized I made a mistake because it would take a lot longer than I expected, immediately I went into the store to ask for my order to be canceled. The barista in the front said she could just bump up the order. I asked if she was sure, she said that it would not be a problem. I trusted it wouldn't, then another employee made the drink and when I picked it up she told me "NeXT TiME yOu sHoULD CheCk thE TiME on tHe ApP BeCaUSE nOw EvEryOne ElsE is WaiTinG" Listen, it was a genuine mistake, I went in to cancel the order, was told it was not a problem. I honestly was absolutely okay with them canceling it. The woman that made the drink decided to try and scold me in front of the other people waiting for their orders. I told her I asked for the order to be canceled to begin with. ‍ I get it, it's busy you're stressed but learn to regulate your emotions ... also maybe try and talk to your coworker about not bumping up orders if it is not feasible to do. This will be the last time that I go to this location. It took me about 20 minutes to get in and out of the store. I don't know if the barista just didn't want to be at the register anymore and signed out and I had to wait for the next one to sign in. The staff looks mostly new from the last time I went and customer service has gone downhill. I requested for a bag and paid for it but they don't tell me that they're out until I pick up my order: that is basic knowledge theatre they should know beforehand . I don't have time to wait around for a refund. Second, I requested for 2 pieces of butter per bagel and only got one each which isn't sufficient for each bagel. Third, I didn't see a sense of urgency there. I have gotten much better service at an AAFES Starbucks despite being understaffed at times. read more

Every single time I've been to the Starbucks it is exceptionally busy. And while that may put off some, I will say the staff here are fabulous. They are genuinely kind and try their hardest to provide good coffee quickly, and with a smile. Every single time I have walked in I have been treated quite well. It can be chaotic and messy at times due to the amount of foot traffic, but I really do like coming here just to snag a coffee. Customer service starts from the top. If management can't perform a simple service recovery, then the rest of the staff won't be able to! Starbucks - Pick up counter (12/28/22) - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Let's just start off all Starbucks locations and staff are different. Even the merchandise may vary. Coming on a Saturday morning, I didn't expect it to be very busy, the line was a little long, but it goes by quickly. Now, the wait time can take a little longer than expected, so if you're on a time crunch I recommend doing mobile orders. Get in and get out, but because of that mobile orders and in-store orders can clash causing orders to be mixed up. I ordered a fixed new drink they have: a grande iced sugar cookie almond milk latte. They ran out of almond milk, which is understandable, so I substitute it with soy. Now the gentleman at the register, I sense he maybe semi-new, but while paying for my drink he took a while breaking the coins and constantly asked me questions about my drink that I already specifically answered. Which is great, but not when I got the wrong order or wrong temperature of my drink. When I wanted to try the ICED grande sugar cookie, I got a hot one. Overall, this location can be very busy during peak times, and orders can be a bit mixed up. It's always a hit a miss for me, but the quality of the drinks remain consistent. read more
