It looked good, but their concoctions can either be a hit or a miss. I happy to report that this was definitely a hit. The blue coconut foam was smooth, creamy and coconutty. It blended well with the matcha. I hope they keep this drink on the menu for a bit longer. This location is at the Moanalua Shopping Center. A lot of military personnel must frequent this store as it's a military family store. It is by military bases and housing. The store was clean and bright. I always enjoy coming to this Starbucks, there are familiar faces working, which makes it feel welcoming. The decor is nice, and it's close to home, which is a big plus. It does get busy (being near a military base and in a popular area), but they move quickly and I've never had issues with my orders. The staff is friendly and patient, which I really appreciate, and the space is always clean and well-kept. I know not everyone loves the cup-writing policy, but I personally enjoy it; some of the drawings are really thoughtful. I recently got a cup with a beautifully drawn palm tree and little doodles added to the design, which made my day. As an online student, I also like studying here. It has a nice balance where it feels lively but not overwhelming, and there's outdoor seating if you want something quieter. read more

This location is conveniently located right near off-base military housing neighborhoods, right next to the Navy Exchange which makes mobile pickup easy - BUT, the audacity of this branch to have Military Coins, Posters about Military Life, and a Flag stating "Military Family Branch" and NOT offering a military discount is RIDICULOUS! It just feels like a slap in the face to walk in as a military family member with your service member, look at all of the military references all over the place and then being told "sorry we don't do a military discount". I went to Jamba paid 9 dollars for a small mango smoothie then I went to use the Starbucks bathroom. I was told I needed to buy something to use the bathroom. I explained Jamba has no restroom and they are sister companies and were formed together in Hawaii . ( Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz was an early investor in Jamba Juice, and in the late 1990s and early 2000s, both brands expanded in Hawaii under the same franchise developer ). Friendliest vibe... It's what I always feel whenever I step into this Moanalua Shopping Center location. Parking does get crowded at this shopping center though it's a matter of preference I usually do find one that I don't mind a bit of exercise this Starbucks isn't the largest when it comes to indoor seating but is very nice and clean and always get a genuine pleasant greeting whenever I walk in. I was actually looking for a specific cup walking in here and didn't find it sadly but the staff are so nice and friendly that I usually end up getting something and is always made exactly how I like it and fast along with the great vibe the seating is a popular choice for many with various types makes it a lovely place to get cozy and comfortable. NEX situated next to the Moanalua Shopping Center few years ago opened Starbucks in the foyer amongst the umbrella kiosks has excellent staff friendly and quickly makes our order! The ambience of their deco bright, clean and comfortable seats available. But my idea of their decor should be tables and chairs instead of flat type semi couch type seats for if one seats down into one seats the other table might not like to sit next to it? I don't have photo of their layout of their comfy stylish seats that looks like a couch at home. The comfortable seats could be for the military men and women in uniforms come to NEX to relax and enjoy except when I'm there I hardly see anyone sitting in uniform all in civilian clothes. Five stars. Always a nice and clean place to visit, wherever you go to. At this location, just the same. Today, had the chorizo and egg sandwich and the caramel macchiato. The sandwich was great as ever, even if it's previously frozen and reheated. No can go wrong with that. The caramel macchiato was a bit flat and bland today. Had to stir in the froth on the top and caramel into the coffee for a sweeter flavor. Otherwise, the drink was hot and good. Inside it was clean, but people sometimes take the big table and spread out like its their home. That bugs me because it sends a message that no one else can't sit there. But, I sat on the table anyway to irritate them. Ha! Service was pretty fast for the amount of people that were in there. Got the food and drink rather quickly. This will be the last time that I go to this location. It took me about 20 minutes to get in and out of the store. I don't know if the barista just didn't want to be at the register anymore and signed out and I had to wait for the next one to sign in. The staff looks mostly new from the last time I went and customer service has gone downhill. I requested for a bag and paid for it but they don't tell me that they're out until I pick up my order: that is basic knowledge theatre they should know beforehand . I don't have time to wait around for a refund. Second, I requested for 2 pieces of butter per bagel and only got one each which isn't sufficient for each bagel. I go to this Starbucks location a lot due to ot being by my office. I am always pleased with the service and my order. Today I ordered a Chai Creme Frappuccino. It was nice and creamy and delicious. I also ordered a marshmallow bar to eat. They batistas had a few orders and I had to wait, which I was good with since I needed a break from the office. Every single time I've been to the Starbucks it is exceptionally busy. And while that may put off some, I will say the staff here are fabulous. They are genuinely kind and try their hardest to provide good coffee quickly, and with a smile. Every single time I have walked in I have been treated quite well. Shift supervisor and all staff on Sunday 04/21/2024 at 0745 needs to be re-trained on service recovery. Our church orders (in advance) from this particular Starbucks every month to pick up coffee travelers for our Hospitality Ministry. The success rate of this happening without a hitch, is less than 50%. Spoke to cashier and shift supervisor x 3. She only offered some type of resolution after the third time I approached her! Customer service starts from the top. If management can't perform a simple service recovery, then the rest of the staff won't be able to! It's no wonder this establishment only received 3 stars at its most! I think it's time for us to bring our business elsewhere. Let's just start off all Starbucks locations and staff are different. Even the merchandise may vary. Coming on a Saturday morning, I didn't expect it to be very busy, the line was a little long, but it goes by quickly. Now, the wait time can take a little longer than expected, so if you're on a time crunch I recommend doing mobile orders. Get in and get out, but because of that mobile orders and in-store orders can clash causing orders to be mixed up. I ordered a fixed new drink they have: a grande iced sugar cookie almond milk latte. They ran out of almond milk, which is understandable, so I substitute it with soy. Now the gentleman at the register, I sense he maybe semi-new, but while paying for my drink he took a while breaking the coins and constantly asked me questions about my drink that I already specifically answered. Which is great, but not when I got the wrong order or wrong temperature of my drink. When I wanted to try the ICED grande sugar cookie, I got a hot one. Overall, this location can be very busy during peak times, and orders can be a bit mixed up. It's always a hit a miss for me, but the quality of the drinks remain consistent. read more

Well I'm trying to get my brew badge so of course I'm going to help correct this. Starbucks was actually open a few weeks ago after a short renovation and the renovations look nice. If you read my Waipahu Starbucks review (which I know you did) then the pics should look familiar because this place looks like a mirror image. Yep the Moanalua Starbucks now offers cold nitro brew. I swear Starbucks must only hire friendly people. You always get a welcome and a smile and a thank you. Drinks are always custom ordered and like they say "If you don't like it, we'll correct it." Overall four stars. The people are friendly and gracious. No five stars because they're so busy that they run out of supplies really quick. I was greeted by staff upon entering and even before leaving which I was a little surprised about. Not all locations thank you for leaving. It was nice.
