Mango sago matcha
Keisha C.

Got to try their mango sago matcha and banana lumpia matcha, both very good. Definitely a sweeter dessert matcha. A bit pricey at $12 but you can choose your milk for no extra cost. Friendly service and cute aesthetics. I think they only do markets and pop ups and they always have a line when I go so be prepared to wait a little.

I ordered the Kulolo Horjicha Almond Milk Latte. It was so delicious! I wish I had a friend with me I wanted to try the pumpkin crunch latte. I was flying solo on Saturday checking out the ASB pop up at Ala Moana. Not surprised there was a line at Pua Blooms. I love the simple menu all the same flavors depending on what caffeine level or no caffeine at all you want. I can't wait for the next one pop up!

At the kaakako Salt location 11/9: Short line (2 people in line), short wait (3 min), super delicious drink! They were working fast so no talking with the workers but they seemed friendly enough, I'm happy with my drink! $11.25

White choco strawberry matcha latte + kulolo crunch hojicha latte

We tried the kulolo crunch hojicha latte and white choco strawberry matcha latte. Both were delicious!! It's definitely more of a sweeter, heavier drink, so get it when you're in the mood for a sweet treat, not just your daily latte

@fortunefoodfinds: "Thirs-TEA Thursday! A Strawberry Matcha Latte n' a Banana Lumpia Hojicha Latte (yup, you heard right!) from PUA BLOOMS. Poppin' up everywhere bc they tasty, go check them out to see!" Staff: friendly Interior: n/a Exterior: pop-up tent @ Taste of Aloha Wait time: 20-25 mins to order + 10 mins for drinks to be made Parking: Waterfront Plaza garage Overall comments: When I saw that they were going to be a vendor at Taste of Aloha n' that they had a banana lumpia hojicha latte, I just knew I had to visit them again. Not only did the event have such a good turnout, but wow was I blown away with the line for Pua Blooms. Got in line n' it doubled behind us shortly after. Strawberry coulis is real good n' the banana lumpia latte is so unique. It was worth the wait bc their drinks are yuMmmy!

Thrilled to be able to try Pua Blooms on a popup day in Kailua. Found them on IG which is where you will find their schedule. Excited as one thing I love more than matcha is hojicha and Pua Blooms has both! This day's start of popup scheduled for 1pm. Understand it's not easy to setup popup truck in a new place everytime the business opens. Anxiously arrived at 1240pm. Waited 1st in line to purchase. Order taken. But had to wait until 10 after hour for drink. No big deal. Prices slightly elevated. Cups not large. Specialty drinks easily $11. I opted for the standard hojicha iced latte with oatmilk ($7). Flavor was nice and smooth showcasing the quality tea used from Kyoto. Wished for a more intense tea taste tho as could barely taste the hojicha. Happy to try some other drinks next time like the banana lumpia expresso (special of the day) or matcha einspanner that everyone else seemed to be ordering. Lots of goodness here!

Blooming with flavors... What a thrill it was to stumble upon their pop up in Kailua at Please Come Again which is a shop that's filled with unique flavors that we love but could never imagine to create and I've been wanting to experience only to see fellow Elite Li Y there waiting was a cool surprise to see as well. Arriving there early was the best of luck since I was fortunate to find parking around the corner after browsing around the area just knew it was time for something cool as their 1pm opening time was fast approaching. Actually seeing this adorable vintage VW bus converted into Pau Blooms actually gave me the giggles as it's just so adorable and I couldn't stop staring as they were prepping for the pop up as their menu offerings are quite massive which I didn't expect and as each drink is hand crafted you know I had to get the specials which what I usually do. After giving the family of Please Come Again get their fix I was so thrilled to order mine as the line started to from down the block with anticipation it was - Banana Lumpia Hojicha $11 - Winter Berry Matcha $10 to which the staff replies "the specials!" yup why should I choose when I can have both lol! Uuuuughhh the smooth craftiness of it all was just so extravagant I felt like being in Japan and as I sat on the ledge my taste buds had it's happy moment of bliss. The beloved banana lumpia was definitely captured along with the roasted nutty flavor of hojicha was perfect along with cinnamon sugar wonton garnish is a drink that's I know my bestie would love and the Winter Berry Matcha is another great original sip that brings in the stunning colors of Matcha along with their berry sauce and a light peppermint kick making this seasonal sip a cool treat. It's so mesmerizing watching them whisk the matcha and seeing how each drink are being built is a craft that I truly appreciate as that's how it should be done. Though the blooms weren't here on this day, the drinks stood out on it's own and cheers to the team as it makes beautiful art that it shares with us all. Thank you!

Love that there are more matcha spots opening up in Hawaii! As a big matcha lover and knowing how to make a pretty good matcha myself, I'm pretty picky about my matcha. I saw that Pua Blooms was having a pop up in Kailua next to Please Come Again and I happened to be in the area that day so it was the perfect chance to try it out. The cute truck was parked along the side of the street and of course there was a ton of people waiting outside. I asked a family who was walking with their matcha how long it took to get their drinks. They said to order their drinks was quick but it took about 30 min to get it. I was with my 1 year old daughter carrying her in the carrier but thankfully she was asleep so I figure I would just wait. They have a range of matcha and hojicha drinks that all sound yummy. It was hard to choose which one to get but I ended up getting the Matcha Einspanner ($10) which is a more stronger matcha topped with sweet cream. The line to order was fast but my drink took about 20 or so minutes. Thankfully my daughter slept through the whole thing and woke up when my drink was ready. Pua Blooms uses Ippudo matcha so I knew it would be legit. I got mines with almond milk and it was a strong matcha taste and the perfect creaminess. The sweet cream on top is an added bonus. I was sad when I finished my drink lol. Totally worth it though!

Flower truck and matcha and coffee bar

I was craving something cold to drink and I remembered seeing a post about a matcha pop-up van nearby! Pua Blooms is a traveling flower truck and matcha and coffee bar that goes around the island. My dad and I checked it out and although there was a long line, we definitely could tell why once we got our drinks! White peppermint strawberry matcha latte ($10): light drink with strawberry sweetness Ube matcha latte ($10): refreshing drink with hints of ube flavoring Although the line was long, once we got or order taken, it took about 15-20min to receive, so not too long. One of the staff memebers, however, had a rather impatient attitude towards me when I was asking questions about the drinks. Pua Blooms - location varies, so check their IG to see where they will be

banana lumpia & strawberry matcha latte
Kyllie N.

Was excited to try Pua after seeing their pop-ups on social media. Made my way to Taste of Aloha around 4:30pm (they opened at 4) & Pua had the longest line at the event. I would say maybe 30-40 people in front of me. I waited around 30 minutes to get to the front & another 5 for my drink. I ordered the banana lumpia matcha, which was very delicious. Would definitely get it again. My bf ordered the strawberry matcha latte, which was good but nothing mind blowing. Will hopefully be back again soon!

Finally got to try Pua Blooms at the Kaneohe Night Market. It was everything I hoped for. I got the Strawberry Match Latte $11. The flavor was insane! So good!! My friend got the Ube Match Latte $11, which was also good. Definitely worth the price. Their set up is so cute. They were also organized while taking orders and making the drinks. Customers were given buzzers to notify them that their order was ready.

Banana Lumpia Hojicha and Winter Berry Matcha
Nicole S.

Pua blooms is cute concept - matcha and flowers served out of a tiny truck. I've heard a lot about them so I knew I had to grab a few friends to try them out. When arriving to Mari's, the line was maybe 10 people long and the sun was blazing hot. I'd say we waited for 30 minutes or so to order then maybe another 10 to get our drinks. If you are pressed on time, I wouldn't suggest it. But I knew I'd be willing to wait. They have seasonal menu items so when I tried them in December, my friends had to try their peppermint. The matcha was strong and not overly sweet in comparison to other local matcha places. I had the einsplanner and it was delicious! If you're a matcha lover, they use Ippodo which is a well loved matcha bran Today I had their banana lumpia Hojicha and the winter berry matcha. The Hojicha they use is so smooth and roasty in flavor. The wonton chips were crispy and the banana flavor was not the artificial taste. This is such a unique concept and I loved it! The winter berry was also nice. The peppermint was stronger so if you don't like peppermint, I wouldn't recommend it. I love finding new spots for matcha and this one definitely exceeds my expectations! I'll be following to make sure I try their new flavors :)

Strawberry matcha coconut float
Kaleo L.

Always super popular at the Ala Moana makers market, so I finally got to try it and I'd say it's worth the hype. The person taking orders was very helpful explaining the drinks and I went with a strawberry matcha with coconut. The matcha flavor was good and not too overpowered by the strawberry or coconut. Everything together tasted nice and refreshing. Maybe not worth the wait, but if there's no line I'd definitely try again.

The fish was perfectly crispy with fresh slaw and really creamy sauces. The tortillas for the tacos tasted very fresh too, which made them even better. Both entrées came with lemon wedges that added a nice bright touch. The fish and chips were great and the fries were perfectly crisp. I still think about the crème brûlée. The texture and caramelized top were spot on. Portions were generous as well. We were staying at a nearby resort so it was an easy walk for us. The service was good, although we came when there was not much of a line. The truck is located in a lot with several other food trucks so it is easy to find. I cannot speak to parking since we walked. There are a couple of benches in front where you can sit and enjoy your food, and the truck sits under a huge tree which gives some nice shade from the heat. I read rave reviews on here for the fish tacos so I orderes them and they did not disappoint. The vegan sour cream is so creamy, thr coleslaw is perfectly tangy and crunchy, and the vegan fish is delightful. My husband got the chicken tacos which were hot, in contrast to the fish tacos. They had avocado and a green sauce and we also liked these though the fish were our favorite. The hibiscus lemonade was lovely and refreshing also. The service here is very fast. We basically ordered and then looked around at the other truck menus and by that time our food was ready! I would definitely recommend this place especially for vegetarians and vegans and would love to come back!

We got there really early before the opened and we were second in line. We shared a plate of their scampi with a side of their hot sauce. I learned this from the last time because as you peel the shrimp, dipping it into their hot sauce is the move. Going the other way around was way messier. People say their rice is mushy, but that wasn't the case today. Honestly, if I could, I'd skip the rice and go all mac salad. The mac salad was pretty tasty and perfect to break up all the garlic. While I've been here multiple times, I do find it to be good. Would I wait in a long line for it though, probably not. It's a spot I'd classify as a tourist trap, but at least the food backs it up. I think in comparison to what I get in California, it's a few steps above what we get on the mainland. I think if you are planning on getting here, do it early to avoid the rushes.

Once spots started opening up, we paid the $2 parking fee and joined the lines. Heads up, the long line on the right is usually for pickup, while the shorter line on the left is for ordering. We went with the famous Shrimp Scampi along with a side of mac salad. Shrimp Scampi (4/5): Easily lived up to the hype. The shrimp were juicy and easy to peel, and each bite was loaded with buttery lemon flavor and tons of crispy garlic. The rice soaked up the sauce really well, though there was honestly so much butter and oil leftover afterward that it pooled at the bottom of the plate. Still incredibly flavorful overall. Mac Salad (4/5): Creamy without feeling too heavy and generously portioned. A solid side that balanced out the richness of the shrimp. Bathrooms are located upstairs near the gift shop, and there's also a washing sink near the exit, which definitely comes in handy after peeling shrimp. Overall, a fun and iconic North Shore stop that absolutely feels worth trying at least once. Glad we checked it out to see if it lived up to the hype.

We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi plates, and neither was impressive. The food came out almost instantly, which proves it is not cooked to order. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.
