I felt kind of bad because it was a one person show and the owner guy had to accommodate a lot of customers by himself! It was a hot day and a cold drink sounded great. I heard someone mention there was a coffee vendor but the person made it sound like they were only selling cups of hot or iced coffee. Then someone walked by with a matcha drink and I knew I needed to check out Panday's booth. There was a small line of customers and the guy was working hard to chat with people, collect payments and make drinks. When it was my turn, I ordered the "Biko" coffee which is their special Filipino rice/coconut/condensed milk coffee. He said he probably didn't have enough and I should look over the menu to see if I had a second choice. I chose the banana matcha and he said he didn't have any banana syrup. I mean maybe the event was so popular that he ran out of drinks quicker than expected. I guess he was the only food/drink vendor at the event and it was a hot day.... In the end, he had enough Biko for my drink and everything was fine. It was a good latte and flavorful, but idk if I'd go out of my way to find it in the future. I do want to try the banana matcha still though. For a one man operation, this guys is killing it. He makes the espresso shots to order, so drinks may take a little while to get made. He was good at chatting up people in line while we waited though. Hopefully I'll see panday coffee at another event soon!

That's exactly what I did as soon as I saw the sidewalk sign right outside of Fishcake in Kaka'ako and I'm so glad I did ;) checking out their menu you can find the usual espresso, latte and americano and now for the fun stuff...their "Specialty Drinks" from Monkey Coffy which has house made banana syrup, Biko which is a Filipino rice milk coffee and even the newest The Panday Pandan Latte! I really was intrigued by their Monkey Coffy but really wanted to try their Matcha when they said that I could combine it for "Monkey Matcha" whaaaaaaat!!!! Their only concern is that the banana syrup could overpower the matcha so they weren't confident to put it on the menu but I tell you it was yummy and yes the syrup was very flavorful as I was told it is made with real bananas and has the equivalent of two bananas in each cup...incredible. The staff is amazing and informed me of the wait with several orders already in the works but I do love the creativity as they bring in the culture crafted in each cup is unique and "sip"ly delicious. I've seen Coffee or Tea? whenever I'm in the area but really have the hardest time finding parking at this Crossroads at Waipio complex which is probably why the limit customer parking to 30 minutes to be fair but then that leaves you little time to sit and relax as they do have some tables inside to do so. After finishing at Car Wash 808 Express I though to give it a try and was lucky enough to get a parking and knew it was meant to be as I walked in liked what I saw inside as it's nice and clean and quite spacious and had many of the snacks and treats to choose from as well. I did notice their featured drinks and the Honey & Lemon Black Tea which sounded exactly what I needed and though I'm able to adjust the sweetness and ice level as well is nice to enjoy my drink, the staff made it very fast and efficient giving me lots of time to run over to Golden Coin for some lunch as well. Love this cozy spot though the time limit does deter me from visiting here as I do like to sit and enjoy my tea sometimes as well. Thank you!

A Cozy Cafe with Friendly Staff, but the Coconut Latte Missed the Mark…read more I stopped by Bluetree Cafe in Kakaʻako around 3 PM with my cat, and the staff were genuinely friendly. They all came over to say hi to my cat, which was such a sweet and welcoming touch. The cafe itself is very cozy and beautifully decorated, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I actually came specifically for the coconut latte after seeing it in their Yelp photos. Unfortunately, the drink was quite disappointing. There was a fairly long wait - around 8 - 10 minutes for one cup. It seemed like one of the baristas was new and another staff member was teaching her, so I completely understood the delay. But when I finally received the drink, it didn't taste anything like the coconut latte I was expecting and it's the most expensive one though. I've probably had couple of hundreds coconut lattes, so I have a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. I asked the barista if she might have accidentally made a regular latte instead of a coconut latte, and she assured me, "Yes, it's a coconut latte." I took several sips, but honestly, it tasted more like a cold brew to me. Since I had my cat with me and the AC inside was also quite strong, I eventually went outside and just enjoyed hanging out with my cat instead. I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere and staff were so nice. If the coconut latte had been made correctly - or tasted more like the coconut latte shown in their photos - I would definitely consider coming back. For now, though, I'm not sure I would make a special trip back just for the drink. I hope they improve the consistency because the cafe has a lot of potential.
