Repeated Poor Service and Unwelcoming Environment I've been visiting this location since late August, often staying until close while enjoying crafted drinks and using the refill policy that's advertised for in-store customers. Unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently disappointing and uncomfortable due to the same group of employees who are often rude, dismissive, and rush to close hours before the actual closing time. On multiple visits, I've felt like an inconvenience just for ordering refills--even when following the correct procedure. Early on, I mistakenly ordered through the app while sitting inside, not realizing refills had to be placed at the counter. Instead of explaining kindly, an employee with braids spoke to me harshly and made me feel embarrassed. Since then, I've always ordered at the counter, but the attitude from staff hasn't improved. Starting around 6 p.m.--two full hours before closing--the bathrooms are blocked off, cleaning products are sprayed around customers still seated, and blinds are opened while employees move hastily through the café as if they're trying to drive guests out. It's extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional to feel rushed out well before the store actually closes. The drink quality is inconsistent as well. My usual drinks, like the Mocha Frappuccino with peppermint and Java chips or the Matcha Frappuccino with coconut milk, are often overly icy, watered down, or missing flavor altogether. When I've politely asked for a fix, I've sometimes been told to pay again or met with eye rolls and stares. Tonight's experience was the last straw--the drink was made completely wrong, and while a kind gentleman tried to help by adding mocha, the barista glared at me afterward as if I'd caused a problem for him. It's disappointing because I've been to many other locations and never experienced this kind of unprofessional behavior or lack of consistency. The only bright spots here have been the newer employees--a gentleman and a young woman I saw recently--who were both pleasant, respectful, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, they seem overshadowed by the rest of the team, who appear more focused on closing early than providing good customer service. After tonight, I will not be returning to this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as it reflects poorly on the brand and creates an unwelcoming environment for paying customers. If there were still clear cups used, I'd have glady included photos to show the true quality of the drinks I've had made here. read more

Love this so Matcha... After I started my day with BodyCycle at Body Balance Hawaii which was so energizing and empowering I decided to drop off some items to donate at Goodwill in PC which then noticed a carwash at a Texaco and thought it was perfect to complete this self care day and take care of my ride. While I was waiting I noticed this Starbucks and shucks let's get some Matcha lol! I almost thought it was closed since there was no one in there but didn't they close at 8pm whew! Walked in and was greeted by a delightful barista who made my drink super fast and check if they still had the potato bites...last one YAY!!! What a wonderful day filled with me time and self care something we don't do as much but as we celebrated women history month we all need to humble and be grateful like I am for everything I've been blessed with and as I chill here at this lovely Starbucks sipping my Matcha it just made me smile. Starbucks is Starbucks...good for those who want a standardized coffee menu and for those who like flavored coffee drinks. Starbucks isn't the place for anyone who wants to taste the true flavor of a coffee bean...I guess that's what Starbucks Reserve is for? Most Starbucks to me are three stars at best...average. Ratings could be four stars if they have a unique feature (like the Downtown Honolulu mobile SBUX or Starbucks Reserve), but my sisters-in-law introducing me to V60 pour-over coffee last year ruined me. V60 does justice to the flavor of the coffee bean. When I tried brewing Starbucks' House Blend on the V60, it was obvious they roasted these beans to demand for cream and sweetener. My husband and I used to frequent this Starbucks as it was closest to our former home. Within the last year, almost every Starbucks trip missed the mark for us in one way or another. It really seems like Starbucks relies on the cream and sugar to taste good, but once in awhile, on a good day, you'll get that nice tasting cup of hot or iced brewed coffee. This old favorite location gets two stars because they quietly raised the price of their steel-cut oatmeal, and on top of that, they forgot the blueberries I paid extra for. Most customers on a weekday morning are too busy to confirm their mobile orders are correct as they're rushing to work. We're counting on baristas to get our orders right. I didn't know my order was incomplete until I opened my oatmeal at work almost an hour later. I couldn't leave the office just to get a refund and I was swamped with work. My husband suggested I try sending SBUX a DM on Twitter like he did when a mainland SBUX messed up his order, but DMs are disabled. He then suggested the Starbucks live chat which timed out just seconds after I clicked away from the chat window. We all make mistakes, but with consistently sub-par coffee in various Starbucks throughout the islands and the country, and with an incomplete order for a paying customer who is busy and counting on caffeine and breakfast to get through the day, I'm really not sure I can return to Starbucks unless it's my birthday, to make that one required purchase per year to continue getting the free birthday drink, or I'm at an airport and Starbucks is literally the only option. Also, I gotta redeem the rest of my stars for a bag of coffee beans and some drink upgrade, then it's "peace out, Starbucks" until my birthday...lol...though the birthday deal blows because you only have your birthday to redeem your free drink. My husband missed his free birthday drink because we were on vacation on Maui. When on Maui, you gotta have Akamai Coffee and not Starbucks. For me, I've had to redeem birthday drinks late at night to drink the next morning because I usually start my work day early. For those who like convenient handcrafted coffee, Starbucks is for you. For coffee aficionados, head to your local coffee shop or at least CBTL...but you already knew that lol. Sorry for the long rant, but consistently "mid" coffee, culminating with an incomplete food order after spending so much time at local coffee shops and brewing our own coffee at home drives me nuts LOL! read more

I visited this Starbucks location recently and was quite disappointed with the overall service quality. From the moment I walked in, there was no acknowledgment from any staff members - no greeting or indication that they noticed a customer had entered. I stood at the counter for about 30 seconds before anyone acknowledged my presence. The acknowledgment was simply eye contact & nothing more. Unfortunately, the poor service didn't end there. When my drink was finally prepared, it was not made correctly and lacked the flavor profile I expected. The drink tasted way too strong with NO vanilla sweet cream and didn't match what I've come to expect from Starbucks' usual quality standards. Customer service is such an important part of the coffee shop experience, and the lack of basic courtesy and attention to drink preparation really detracted from what should have been a pleasant visit. I hope management can address these issues with staff training on both customer acknowledgment and beverage quality control. No matter how many times I go to this location they always give me a hard time about ordering a strawberry refresher. I want no ice so they add water. I want to be green and use one of their personal cups. They tell me I cannot if I order it as a Trenta size because they will not split the cup to make it fit in the personal cup. It's like they are so cheap!!! Never giving me options or being helpful with choices they can and will accommodate???Please corporate help them!!! 6-18-21 Got a voicemail from Angie the groomer that R bebe was ready for pickup. Decided to pick up a drink for her and myself as hubs said none for him. The shop was pretty empty since no indoor eating/drinking and there was one ahead of me so I had a chance to view the pastry offerings. Decided on 2 tall white mocha frapps and 2 chocolate croissants. The photo hanging above looked so good so I ordered a strawberry açaí lemonade for hubs. The croissants were heated up without me asking. The drinks took a while to be made. Just had to drive a few blocks to the groomer but the drinks were already looking wilted with the whipped cream disheveled. Looked like it shrank but it's the thought, right? 11 NOV 2020 (V-day) Brown water from the coffee gods! I try to patronize other (& local) coffee businesses but, the ones I checked before coming here did not open til 11am. 11 o'clock! Who waits that long to start their day...without coffee!?!? With a Starbucks on almost every corner, getting coffee while out and about is easy and convenient. I took my mother to a too-early appointment then walked over to the nearby Starbucks. I had all intentions of paying for my coffee but, there was a sign on the counter offering free coffee for veterans (it being V-day and all). So, why not save a few bucks! ...and I did. I took advantage of the free deal and enjoyed every drop of my free coffee. The Batista who served me was very nice and greated me with a pleasant good morning. Picking up a prize that I won on Instagram... Free stuff is fun! I enter every contest that I can. Friends tag me on Instagram and I tag them back... it's an interesting game! Sometimes, we win! It's always an unexpected thrill! Like this time... Starbucks in Pearlridge messaged me that I had won a tumbler! Yay! I told them that I'd be there the next day... This location is very convenient. It shares a large, free parking lot with Anna Miller's, on the corner of Kamehameha Highway and Kaonohi Street. I walked in, ordered a Butter Croissant (since I was there), and also got the Guava Passionfruit Drink that I wanted to try. I got 15 Stars for the Butter Croissant and 50 Stars from the Drink + Ham & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich! Yay! Lastly, I told them that I had won something on Instagram! One of the gals said, "Oh! It's Auntie Nadine!" LOL! They warmed up my croissant, brought me my sandwich and drink, and gave me a package with my new tumbler! I was a happy camper! Placed a mobile order for curbside pickup. Through the app's website I was able to check-in and let the store know which stall I was parked in. When the barista came out to deliver, the items were on a tray and all drinks had a stopper or sticker over the opening to prevent any germs from getting in... love that. So I went to this location on Saturday 10/29 around 1030-1130am and noticed that they had a sign that stated to be patient with employees since they are learning a new system. The cashier was very nice and repeated my order back to me. I had to correct the cashier as she put that I had 2 strawberry frappes no whip so I corrected and stated I needed 3. I added on one more item and paid. When I ordered hot tea (I've been sick and recovering) this tome, the staff repeated my order and I answered "yes" then I had a cough, she asked me "May I add some honey for you?" Every so often, we'll come to this location to get our caffeine-fix or post-dining -shopping treat. This site is quite conveniently located near a couple of long-standing and popular local restaurants, Anna Miller's Restaurant and Bravo Italian. Also close by, there are Jamba Juice, Down to Earth Organic & Natural and Bed, Bath & Beyond. This café is not as large as others that we've been into and features outdoor seating with a view of the parking lot and Kamemehameha Highway. There is a fairly large parking lot to accommodate the businesses in this area but, traffic can get hectic. The baristas are friendly, efficient and accommodating. Not to say that other sites aren't patient or helpful but, there's seems to be a larger segment of our population that stand in line with eyes wide-open like "deers in headlights" out here. The baristas calmly explain, with a smile, the menu even though a line of anxious customers forms. I like to see that kind of service and attentiveness with our elders. Sorry to only give 4-stars but maybe it's because I'm not an Al Fresco dining-type person. I don't like the thought of having my beverage or food be exposed to car exhaust, street dust and the heat from the sun. I'd rather sit inside to enjoy air-conditioned comfort and listen to the cool tunes they play. read more

I come to this location regularly because it's close to my work. I haven't had a bad experience here yet. I usually get here around 7:20 am and it is not crowded at all. The line is short and they're quick to get my order out. I know that if you go any earlier or later the line gets a little longer. The staff isn't super friendly like some other locations that I've been to and there aren't a bunch of staff, only two or so. A lot of the time I come here and there is one person working the register and baked goods. Once I tried to put in a phone order, but when I got there they made me order it all over again. Not sure what's the point of putting in a phone order if I have to order it again once I get to the location. They currently have Valentine's Day drinks and items for sale that are cute!! read more

I come here if I start work early in the morning since the mall location opens at 730 am. I like that there is a lot of parking but if you come after the mall opens the parking is a little tough. Located next to Bed Bath and Beyond and Down to Earth it's very convenient to zip in and out in the morning. Staff is very pleasant. The lines can go fast depending on who is working and the ordering time of the people in front of you. (Some people have friends or coworkers orders and some people are so darn indecisive) I get my usual white chocolate mocha hot in the morning. Sometime I get a breakfast sandwich (bacon gouda is noms) or a bagel. They will heat it up for you. There are also items for purchase like the starbucks version of the keurig, various coffee beans, cups, tea presses, and of course the cute gift cards. During the holidays they have novelty gifts such as a hot cocoa kits that come with marshmallows and peppermint sticks in fancy containers. There are comfy seats and tables near the entrance and free wifi. There is a restroom but you need to ask for the pass code for the door lock. They take cash, credit and the starbucks gift cards. If you register your starbucks card, you are entered into a free program and you can earn free birthday drinks. If you are a regular customer and get bumped up to the elite gold status, you can earn a free drink or food item after every twelve stars. Stars are earned per transaction, not per item. You also get emails and coupons that show up in the starbucks app for discounted drinks or food or sometimes free stuffs! Be mindful that the free drink offer you get only last a few weeks, if you don't redeem it you lose it. Tips are welcome, there is a jar by the registers. read more

The parking may not be the greatest when it comes to going here, I'm grateful for the quick service. The willing attitude to redo a drink, if I don't like. I'm kind of a regular to this one. My toddler wears me out and I need an energy boost. After going to Gymboree, this stop is sometimes necessary to recharge my batteries and feel awake. If anyone complains about slow service, they should try going to a Starbucks in Livermore, California and placing a order. It 20-30 minutes just to get your order. It's when you experience this, you realize a 5 to 10 minute wait for your order is nothing. I ordered an ice decaf juniper latte. My food and drink order came quickly. The juniper latte was not too sweet but just right. I got a pecan muffin instead of a pumpkin one but it's better than a long wait. They told me a few seconds after that they didn't have mocha anymore and offered to replace it with white mocha. Parking is so-so depending on the time you get here. Lots of other establishments so parking can be scarce in a preferred stall. Service is good. It always seems to move at a quick pace and most baristas are friendly. It's pretty crowded in here. Lots of seating though, so if you need a place to study or relax, this is your place. Tons of ready to eat and drink options. Their bakery case is clean and full of delectable treats. I wanted to try the Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato. I got me the Iced Venti version. It was really good in my opinion. I love how macchiatos have that rib espresso flavors and chunks of caramel that drop down into the bottom of your cup. It gives your drink some depth in flavor and richness of the coffee you'd expect. Being that it was coconut milk, it has its own sweetness to it. Over the years, dairy has not been good to me.
