I stopby to get my usual black iced tea.. and I asked to used the bathroom, According to the crew, they changed the lock of the bathroom, and she doesn't know, because it's due to none paying customer, I'm a paying costumer... there's three of them here, I'm sure one of them knew the code.. hmmmmm... there's three of them and no one knows the code??? And when I came in... it's 5:55pm... one crew is mopping the floor already ... so you step on the wet floor and just making you feel guilty making it dirty again.

Starbucks needs to retrain all employees about the Ally Law & Laura's Law

We were at T Mobile and our 9 year old daughter really needed to use the restroom so my wife took her to Starbucks next door. The manager on duty told my wife "They need to buy something for her to use the bathroom" "Thats the policy" They pointed at a sign near the door and nothing on that sign says you have to make a purchase to use the restroom. My question on this is. How does a business who has a public restroom known if someone has a medical condition or not without providing documents? Our child has a medical condition and this Starbucks denied her access to the restroom. This message below is for everyone to read and understand. If you don't understand this then Google. Laura's Law Restroom Access Act: California's Restroom Access Act, also known as \"Laura's Law," requires businesses that sell goods and have employee restrooms to allow individuals with eligible medical conditions to use the employee restroom. Ally Law Ally's Law requires that retail businesses with employee toilet facilities allow customers with specific medical conditions to access them if the need arises. People with certain medical conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), sometimes need to use the restroom urgently. This can be difficult if they are out of the house or workplace, as not all businesses have public restrooms. Many states in the United States have passed the Restroom Access Act, also known as Ally's Law, to acknowledge this medical need. Read on to learn more about Ally's Law, including where it applies and how it works. Ally's Law requires retail establishments to allow people with certain medical conditions, such as IBD, to access an employee restroom if no public facilities are available and they have an urgent need. The law got its name from Ally Bain, a young woman from Illinois who has IBD. As of 2015, approximately 3 million adultsTrusted Source in the U.S. reported having IBD, which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. When Ally was 14 years old and shopping with her mother in a large retail store, she experienced a Crohn's disease flare, which included a sudden urge to use the restroom. There were no public restrooms, so she asked to use the employee restroom. The manager denied Ally access, and she had an accident in the store. Ally and her mother met with Illinois state representative Kathy Ryg to draft a bill allowing people to use an employee restroom if they have a medical condition and are in urgent need. The bill became law in Illinois in August 2005. Since then, several other states have passed the Restroom Access Act. Ally's Law falls under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. This Act protects people with disabilities from discrimination Examples of some of the conditions that fall under the Restroom Access Act include: Crohn's disease ulcerative colitis other types of IBD irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) any condition involving the use of an ostomy device any permanent or temporary condition requiring immediate access to a restroom Ally's Law also covers pregnancy as a medical condition in some states

Though the bakery is pretty small, it was perfectly cozy with plenty outdoor seating available. There are a couple tables outside, and a bar-style seating area outside. Plus, a lot of parking spaces are available! The pastries are displayed beautifully under the warm lights of the shelf. Totally cute! Most importantly.. Instagram worthy! I got two original croissants, an orange creme brulee, and a strawberry crescent croissant. The original croissants were perfectly crunchy, and not too airy that there isn't anything inside the shell. Pretty dense in you ask me, and I love it that way! The orange creme brulee was really pretty. Caught my eye in the crowd! Though I thought that the croissant-style bread on the outside of the pastry was not crispy enough, the creme brulee definitely had a rich orange-y aroma. The strawberry crescent was my absolute favorite. I love how the hard, dense outside contrasted with the creamy center. The strawberry cream in the center isn't too sweet in my opinion! The shape wasn't just creative, it was also so fun to eat! You'll be seeing me again!

Making it a bit cramp when you're trying to stand in line, look at what's available, and order at the same time. Parking here is hard to get to as well, the lot is super small and fits only one car at a time. If you happen to land a spot here your best bet is to reverse all the way out because a three point turn will turn into a multipoint turn quickly. My suggestion is to park in the lot in the plaza next door and walk over. As for the baked goods the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Croissant is phenomenal and the Strawberry Moon is a classic. The flavor profiles here lean Asian with many call backs to flavors such as ube and passionfruit. They also seem to change their menu often too so keep an eye out on the newer items as you visit. In terms of aesthetics of the pastries you can see the love in the folds of each one. The strawberry moon croissant is a good example of this because the amount of ridges in the croissant shows how many times it was folded while making it. That alone is back breaking work and truly a labor of love for something that gets consumed in minutes. Last but not least the staff, we love a good mom and pop shop. The entire family is in on this, from the cashier, baristas, and pastry chef. If you're looking for a AAPI business to support, this is the one to go to. They're kind, diligent, and when a pastry sells out you can always count on them to make more. Disappointment does not run in this family! Overall looking forward to continue coming back and frequently be a patron here.

This place stood out because it had a lot of reviews and was close to my house. The cafe itself is small, a bit stuffy inside. There is ample parking on the side which was a plus. There were only three customers inside when I arrived. When I walked in, the first thing I was asked was, "What does your dog need" rather than a hello or good morning. I explained that my dog and I were there to order coffee, and I was told the menu was outside and that she would help me at the door. It wasn't necessarily rude, just an unusual interaction. A sign explaining the dog policy might help avoid this awkward situation/confusion in the future. Unfortunately, the coffee was the biggest disappointment. After waiting about 15 minutes, my latte tasted watered down and lacked flavor. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted like warm cardboard. I don't mind waiting for a quality drink, but this one missed the mark. I ended up going home and adding more coffee and milk to make it drinkable. I genuinely wanted to like this place and was excited to try it, but the coffee was a letdown. If you're stopping by before work, be aware that the wait may be longer than expected.

Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)
