Still down on this place. I decided to give them another shot despite my gut telling me to go elsewhere based on my first experience. This time when I walked in I wasn't promptly greeted. Instead, the man behind the counter stared at me up and down as I approached the counter (profiling me). He eventually said hello, but at that point I felt dejected so I walked out. Not sure if he had ill intentions but based off my previous experience and this recent encounter, I'm going to scratch this cafe off my list of cafe options when I'm in the area. read more

How could I have not been here before?!! Finally back in this area and tried lunch today. My tuna melt was perfect! On sourdough bread, the tuna had the perfect amount of mayo and chopped veggies. Really delicious. The restaurant had patrons but not too busy to notice me staring down their menus. I was greeted promptly- my order was ready in no time. Very friendly and cozy place. Quick, attentive, and friendly. Order & thoughts: Cinnabon latte: Horrible after taste - chemical like. Took 3 sips to get a sense if the first sip was just off but the whole thing was off. Dumped it down the drain. Snickers latte: Pretty good, like. 7.5/10. Berry Blue Smoothie: Way too sweet! Got two, one for each kiddo, and they didn't care for them. Oatmeal cookie: DRY AS A DESERT! Lovely local coffee shop with excellent customer service! My friend ordered the lox with cream cheese on a bagel and an iced tea. I had the California bagel (bacon, avocado, cream cheese) on an everything bagel and a cup of dark joe. It was all very good and I enjoyed how the sesame seeds were toasted on the bagel. This is a quiet spot, perfect for studying or relaxing with a cup of coffee. Disgusting!! My sister and I went there yesterday (6/23/25). The man at the counter took forever to help us, I just started at us but didn't offer to take our order. When he started preparing our order, my sister and I moved to the end of the counter just in case another customer wanted in. Were could see right down to their "food prep" area. No gloves at all!! He grabbed a bagel out of the case with tongs then removed them with his bare hands. He wife was on the phone the entire time but jumped in to help without washing her hands and still on the phone. The kicker was when he went to remove the avocado seed from the knife... he reached into the garbage to move other trash around then goes back to making our sandwiches. Told them to keep the $26 for the two bagel sandwiches. Told him it was disgusting what we just watched and walked out!! I would rate this place with a 0!!! read more

Nice couple. Locally owned business. The food is descent. The coffee is okay. They have a lot of different flavors and all the different types of coffee drinks. If you like it strong, go to Peet's. They have many tea varieties. They have lots of different breakfast and lunch wraps. Nothing low carb except for salads. I ordered the tuna salad a couple times now. It's not bad. It has walnuts in the tuna salad and something else. I wish it was meatier in texture. Next time I may try the salmon salad. read more

Good local coffee spot, not sure if it's a new place or not (seems like it changed ownership not that long ago). Ordered a latte, coffee w/steamed milk and two sandwiches. The bacon, pepperjack, and egg sandwich I had was pretty good, but definitely not worth the price tag due to its size. Four items ran me like $32, so certainly not cheap (or that's just market rate now, sadly). The coffee w/steamed milk was good and very hot, but that is a fairly basic drink, so hard to mess that one up. I saw a bunch of local people hanging out inside, so I like it has a small town appeal. But not sure I would be in a huge rush to come back to the sandwich pricing (coffee pricing seemed reasonable). read more

Face masks, face shields, and many other safety protocols were in place during my visit. It was clean and very welcoming! I was immediately greeted and the staff was so nice and friendly! With a variety of breakfast options, a friend went with a bagel sandwich where you got to choose 3 toppings. I went with a decaf Americano with vanilla and it was perfect! Safe to say we were both satisfied. This place is definitely overlooked, it should have way more reviews and photos! Can't wait to come back for lunch and try a salad, sandwich or smoothie! I used to come here a lot. I was craving a white storm mocha, so I came in. The energy is a lot different. Not warm and inviting. White storm mocha was good. They have a lot of different mocha drinks. White storm has always been my fave and Mexican mocha is #2. I order a lox bagel. It was kinda weak. Not a lot of cream cheese. Bagel wasn't as warm as I'd like it. I probably wouldn't order food again, but I'll come back once in a while for a drink. Idk what happened to the guy who was here before.. I stopped here while out riding my bike. I asked to use their restroom and was told that it was "out of service". I asked if there was another option nearby, but they claimed to not know. What?! You are running a cafe in a shopping center and you don't have know where to send your customers? What restroom do you use? I ultimately used the restroom at the Safeway and returned to Bodi's Java for a bagel and coffee. I was happy to see that they offer Equator Coffee but was surprised to see one of the owners coffee from a mug back into the brew kettle. Where they using used grounds to to brew more coffee? It certainly tasted that way when I finally got my order. The bagel was equally mediocre. I'm certain it came out of a bag, maybe directly from Safeway. But, to be honest my whole experience was ruined by both owners when I accidentally spilled some coffee at the self-service counter. I was given a deep scowl and a frustrating gesture for my offense. I offered to wipe it up myself but wasn't even given any grace for that. I tried to sit towards the back to enjoy my food and drink, away from the blaring TV with Fox News. Again, I was scolded for trying to sit in a "closed" part of their store. It has been a very long time since two people who clearly own and operate a business have treated me so contemptuously. I had to eat and drink their lowsy offerings on the concrete curb. I would die before ever going back. I recommend that you do the same. read more

This place has being my go-to home coffee shop. It's the cozy mom and pop shop that I've grown to love and when I can, I like spending a few hours on the weekends here. Before the new owners, I use just chill in the back but now I think soon I'd be calling the owners uncle and auntie! Whether it's hot or cold coffee, it's delicious and for a caffeine addict like me, it's... addicting :) My go to orders is the caramel macchiato (hot or cold) with a bagel. I love the lox bagel and the auntie there makes it exactly like I like it (light cream cheese, no capers, lightly toasted with extra onions). Aside from the lox bagel, I like getting a breakfast bagel with eggs, tomato and bacon. I've tried the breakfast burrito a few times, a little one the wet side but I can never finish it in one sitting... it's huge!! Aside from coffee, I occasionally enjoy an Italian soda from here - strawberry is my favorite on a hot day. I have yet to try salads from here, but every time I get coffee, I feel like I need some sort of carbs to go with it. As for the shop, the bathroom is very clean and super big for one haha. It is a little dark when sitting inside the shop but it works out as I'm always hiding behind my computer. Wifi does drop every so often but it comes back up after a little bit. Final Thoughts: Yes, food isn't exactly home cooked and seems like the frozen sausage patties, BUT I still like it as is. The coffee isn't sugar coffee and I do enjoy how it's made (despite me being a sugar addict). Prices aren't exactly the cheapest but it's all fair and it's over $5 to use a credit card if I remember correctly - that's never an issue for me as I always get food with my drink. They were of decent quality but honestly nothing to rave about. I'll have to try other items on their menu. The space that was made available was ample enough to host a decent morning crowd with light traffic. I'll have to come back here again esp when the health restrictions are lifted. The two people working there did NOT wear gloves while preparing our food, and when I called the employee out on it, he apologized but still refused to wear gloves!! Absolutely disgusting. This place has been here for a while and I've never been. Decided to go down with my mom and try out the coffee. The inside is so cozy, but with restrictions, you can't sit in. Looks perfect for studying and work while sipping your drinks once everything opens up. Ordered 2 large drinks. A iced mocha and an iced carmel macchiato. They make the drinks as you order, and it was amazing, the whole place smelled like warm coffee. The iced mocha was good, the coffee was strong enough to taste through the sugar and chocolate. This is a must for me, I hate it when you can't taste the flavor of the coffee. I got the carmel macchiato, a drink I always order at coffee shops. This is the best place I've been to, the coffee taste just comes through, not bitter at all, but smooth. The milk and carmel ratio were perfect, not too strong. A macchiato is espresso, milk, and carmel; a simple drink, but if not done correctly it shows. Bodhis Java does an amazing job, perfectly strong and smooth. I wanted a second cup after I finished! It's better than Peets and Starbucks, and other smaller places I've been to. I definitely recommend Bodhis Java if you want good coffee. I hope to come back more often. Visited Bodi's Java for the first time and it's a friendly mom and pop coffee shop/cafe. It's located in a plaza next to Safeway and there's plenty of parking. Their menu offers a variety of drinks and food (breakfast and lunch) options. We ordered the breakfast bagel, lox bagel, iced coffee and soy matcha latte. We liked that the breakfast bagel was so customizable. With Shelter in Place, I can't comment on their dine in experience but takeout was a smooth process. The owners were also sweet and friendly. Considering we're about to pay for 2 drinks equaling over $10 we would be customers. Then to use the bathroom needed a key (understandable so people don't just come in for that) but when I wanted to go to the bathroom again, later on, I was scolded for it. With the nearest coffee shop out a ways, Bodi's excels at making its customers feel unwelcome through curt interactions delivered stone-faced and ice cold. Were the food and drink exceptional, one might be the tempted to excuse this all as artistic eccentricity. To be clear, it isn't. I've passed by Bodi's Java everyday for a year always promising myself to go in and check it out. This week I finally decided to do just that. I purchased a Carmel Apple Cider for my morning hot drink and the Bacon Turkey club sandwich for lunch... when I say they both were amazing, I'm not even being dramatic. The flavor of the drink was everything making me excited for the fall season. The sandwich with the house ranch was packed with the fixings and far from dry. This place is so good! I love supporting local businesses. I ordered a simple iced vanilla latte and it's much better than the chain coffee stores nearby. The bagel sandwiches are good too and I will definitely try some of the other food items later on. They have a large menu and kind people running the store. This purely for customer service.. This is my normal stop between Fairfield n San Mateo. Its a mom n pop shop with unique teas n coffee. Plus some salad n sandwiched bakery good. Bonus wifi for work. I used to come here quite often I knew the previous owner. A sweet lady who was always quite nice..now its owned by new owners who were normally quite nice I guess as long as I bought something. ###RANT### Today I wad treated well like a customer(which seems to mean without common courtesy) I guess , when I asked for the key to the bathroom as I had to go. The lady immediately was buy something first. I was planning on getting something AFTER i went to tbe restroom n starbucks/peets there is NO issue on when you purchase something. SO I said sure let me get a tea. She told her husband to get me tea AND just left WITHOUT HANDING me the key. One thing to ask me to buy something to use the restroom I kind of (not really) understand that, BUT to just leave without even giving me the key eas hella RUDE! Its all about money here..
