We drop by every now ant then just to buy a Lotto Ticket. Once in a blue moon, we'll even order a donut or two. I enjoy their Apple Fritters. Large, crunchy and sweet, I enjoy it over two days. Service is always friendly, even when there's a line out the door. read more

Consistency. We're so glad that this place that this as close to home or else we'd come so much more often. Popped in today for some croissants (huge!) and donuts. The donuts are my favorite for the simple fact that they aren't super glazed and that they are so soft and chewy - hard to explain but it's the way the donut should taste. Come here dozen times a month, the coffee and donuts are always consistent, freshly made and tasting great. I have also gotten a few Ham and Bagel sandwiches from here, my daughter loves it. Very friendly staff here! They are so kind and treated my daughter with free donut holes. We had already bought 3 dozen but from the kindness of his heart he gave her 5 for free in a bag. I frequently drive by the plaza Slikkers is in. You wouldn't know from the storefront that they'd sell anything other than lotto tickets and donuts. I started going to Slikker's during the pandemic because I found out they made banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) that were delicious and for a good deal without having to go to Oakland or San Jose. It was one of my go-to spots for banh mi because I didn't have to wait in long lines here compared to my other usual Vietnamese sandwich shops. Sadly, the banh mi are not as good as it used to be -- the filling is minimal and they started using chunked cucumbers and jalapenos instead of sliced. read more

They have a pretty decent bahn mi for cheap, around $7. I've gotten it a couple times due to convenience and price. I've had a bagel here and it was comically HUGE but just okay- did not taste fresh. I also tried a croissant, ham, egg and cheese, and it wasn't great. Croissant wasn't fresh and the whole thing just tasted average for the $8 price. I'd come back only for the bahn mis. There was a fast-moving and short line of about 3-4 people when I got there. There doesn't look to be seating but the parking lot is big and donuts were well-priced. I ordered the maple bar, chocolate glazed with sprinkles, and donut holes - both glazed and crumb. I was amazed at how tasty the donuts were. They had a sort of crunchy texture but it was so soft inside the donuts. I have gone to a handful of donut shops in the San Leandro/San Lorenzo area and I've got to say these are probably some of the best donuts. Im impressed by the donuts we had today and will keep coming back for more. They were exceptionally delicious! And I'm happy to support a local mom and pop shop. Slikker's is one of those hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pop stores that do not subscribe to the specialization business model, and, instead, offer an eclectic array of crowd pleasers, the kind of place where you can pick up a glazed donut hole and a pastrami sandwich and a taro smoothie all in one stop. Slikker's is a nothing fancy kind of place, and the prices reflect that. The báhn mi are between $5.75 and $6.25. The staff are detail oriented and get your order right. A call bell (the kind that always make me feel awkward and demanding to use) sits on the front counter by the plexiglass COVID-19 safety shield, however I've never had occasion to ring it, as the people working there are consistently attentive. Slikker's is not the place to take your favorite co-worker for a special birthday lunch, but it is perfect for a fast, tasty báhn mi to go. I grew up in the east bay but moved to SF in 2009. I never went here until June of this year. My mom lives in San Leandro and loves their donuts. She had to go into a nursing home in June and requests one donut every week so I tried some too. The donuts here are so good! Very big donuts too. My mom always wants a maple bar or donut holes. I love the buttermilk bars and apple fritters. I recently tried a sausage/egg/cheese croissant and they are amazing and HUGE!! When I eat one, I am full all day. I often get a coffee and I like the variety of coffees that they have. They have always been good. The staff have always been friendly to me so the other complaints about poor service is more a reflection on the poster than the shop. These are right up there with the best donuts I have ever had. read more

I bought a dozen donuts and the male cashier still charged me a credit card fee and tipped themselves without notifying me. I realized in my car when I was already driving away. I wonder how many times this has happened? I don't recall seeing any sign regarding additional fees. Please check your receipts. Some donuts were not that fresh as they were dry and could have been from the night before. I went at around 10am btw. The customer service was sub par. Not as friendly as you would expect for a small business in town. When I entered, the audible notification triggered but they continued to chat as they just glanced over at me. I then had to flag them down. They definitely lacked in customer service as I was not greeted nor did I feel welcomed when acknowledged. SLIKKER'S DONUT is located in a strip mall called, "Estudillo Center." My family lived in San Leandro during my middle school years and high school years. Our home was located two blocks to the east of Estudillo Center. Today, I was visiting some of my neighbors from my high school years, and I decided that I first wanted to get more in touch with my, "Inner San Leandro." And so, I stopped at Slikker's Donut. A large sign in front of this donut shop just reads, "DONUTS." When you buy donuts or other goodies, they are served to you in a paper bag that reads, "Fresh Daily," with a drawing printed in brown-colored ink. The drawing shows a steaming cup of coffee and a plate containing two donuts and a croissant. MY ORDER. I ordered two French crullers, also spelled, "cruellers." These pastries are like donuts, but they are made of twisted dough, where the twisted dough forms a circle. The French crullers have maple frosting on the outside, and they are more hollow and airy on the inside than regular donuts. During my grad school years at U.C. Berkeley, I used to come to my laboratory every Sunday morning and buy French crullers from a bakery on Euclid Avenue in Berkeley, and read the Sunday S.F. Chronicle. The French crullers from Slikker's are exactly like the ones that I used to buy in Berkeley, back in the day. Yum ! Yummy-yummy-yum ! MENU BOARDS. One menu board lists croissants (crescent-shaped pastry), and these are: (1) Ham, egg, & cheese; (2) Bacon, egg, & cheese; (3) Turkey, egg, & cheese, and (4) Sausage, egg & cheese. Another menu board has the heading, "CLASSIC," and this menu lists, Raise donut, Cake, Old fashion, Glazed donut hole, and Cake donut hole. A menu board with the heading, "PASTRIES" lists Bagel, Bagel with cream cheese, Butter croissant, and Filled croissant. And a menu board with the heading "FANCY" lists, French cruller, Buttermilk bar, Twisted, Jelly, Bear claw, and Apple fritter. MORE MENU BOARDS. A menu reading, "DELI SANDWICHES" lists turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna, salami, B.L.T., and pastrami. Yet another menu lists Vietnamese sandwiches, and there are seven kinds of them. TEA AND SMOOTHIES. The menu board lists five types of "milk tea," and these include my favorite, namely, "Thai tea." Five types of smoothies are available, and these include strawberry smoothies and mango smoothies. OTHER POPULAR PRODUCTS AT SLIKKER'S. During my 20 minute stay in this donut shop, I sat at a small table and wrote notes for my YELP review. The table is next to a CA Lottery machine. The CA Lottery machine provides a choice of various kinds of scratchers that you can buy, for example, "Ultimate Millions," "Monopoly," and "MEGA Crossword." During these 20 minutes, two men came in at separate times, and each one bought a CA Lottery ticket. The front counter has a heater on it, and on this heater sits five glass coffee pots. And so, it can reasonably be concluded that coffee and lottery tickets are two of the more popular items at Slikker's. read more

I for one do not come here for the lottery ticket wall, I come in for my donuts and coffee, nothing else. From what I can tell, it appears to be newly owned as of 2020. So peep out the unbias reviews 2020 and beyond for an accurate representation of this shop. First of all, I appreciate a family owned old fashion donut shop, I'm so sick and tired of the All Star franchise donut shops that typically tends to be below average in the quality and the sanitary department. San Leandro needs more shops like this. It is Asian owned, so a quick bonus, the iced coffee is a bit more potent than your regular iced coffee. Similarly to a Vietnamese coffee, It has the same potency, but without the condense milk. Fair warning, it is still pretty sweet so ask to have it half sweetened. I typically get the donut holes, glazed, and an old fashion. I have not tried anything else, but they are pretty high on my ratings. I am satisfied. If you are still skeptical, just go in for the donut holes, $2 for 13 is a steal! Anyways, support your local mom and pops store. They are typically hidden gems. read more

I have a tradition of going to a donut or bakery shop after having my teeth cleaned at the dentist. After my latest cleaning, I chose to try Slikker's Donut shop. Upon stepping into the shop, the first thing I notice are the walls. They are completely decorated with winning Lottery tickets. So of course, I bought a ticket for myself. The lady who assisted me was kind and friendly. While I sat at one of the tables eating my sweets, I observed that they have quite a few regulars. Always a good sign. Okay, let's talk donuts. I chose two to snack on for my after cleaning treat. Custard filled Chocolate Bar was big and fat. Tasted delicious. (4 stars) Glazed French Crueller was yummy as well. Another local owned business I am boycotting because of bad customer service. Our family has been going here for over 20 years. Love their donuts but the stank attitude of the Man there sucks. He always has this little attitude with no smile or anything and have always just ignored him. Today I went to ask for donut holes, half glazed half chocolate. I asked for a separate bag and he says "You want separate bag" I said "Yes". And that is what set him off. he starts grabbing his bags looking all angry and even drops some. He starts mumbling under his breathe and he says "the American way". So I called him out on it and I said what the American way because I want it my way. Fool! You are in America and obviously loving the American way, you own your own business here in "AMERICA". I can't believe because I asked for a separate bag he got all pissy. Oh well. Slikker's offers 7 kinds of gourmet coffee but i didn't see what was available. the wall are full of winning lotto tickets. the counter was full of donuts. the counter is just a few steps from the front door. the rest of the shop is for making of the donuts. eats: buttermilk cruellar(1.25) -sugary, small pound cake size, cake-like in texture, nice moist, buttery taste maple old fashioned(.95) -sweet, cake-like texture also. 3.5 stars, large sized, well done donuts. crumbs: -young lady was metiously, robotic fast. read more

Bought a Vietnamese sandwich, if it would have had pate & a French style bread I would have given it 5 stars. I'm used to the crunch & crumb effect from a typical Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi).
