Came here on two different days two weeks apart. came around 3pm. Both times there was no Korean corn dogs. What's the point?? Just sell donuts

    Super small and not fresh

I had a sweet tooth so I decided to get up and drive for some Mochinut. I was surprised it was parking right in front and that they weren't business. I walked in and the young lady at the counter didn't acknowledge me until 1-2 minutes after she decided to put her cell phone down. She wasn't that pleasant. I asked about the different favors displayed on the counter. She had an attitude telling me what the favors were. I thought the red one was raspberry but she said cherry. I thought the chocolate one had cinnamon on it she said it was biscoff like I was supposed to know this. I bought three because I thought it was a better deal for $9.99. They were already made. I got in my car and the Mochinuts were so small in this big ass box. So small and light I thought I was missing a Mochinut. I use to go to Berkeley where theirs are much worth the price and they are very friendly and helpful there. I will not be going back to this location!!!

Chocolate drizzle churro. Small and not fully formed and rounded like the actual mochinut.

This spot had lost its charm and consistency. Not sure what happened but the Mochinut is smaller than usual and stale. I spent $18 for a half dozen which seems more like I paid $18 for 3. Additionally, staff had no sense of urgency to customers walking in. Definitely not coming back.

I dont think I need to review this, korean corndogs have always been the same for me, simple and delicious. Extra Extra hot cheetos does not mean more hot, just means you get more cheetos dust They had a sauce area, ketchup, mustard, sweet chili, dry sugar. Comfy chairs Nice tables Small place but cute 5/5

Fast service for donuts and overall tasty. Small store with no seating indoor or outdoor.

I bought 2 for $7.98 and the cashier asked if I wanted to get 2 more donuts for $2 more. I replied this is my 1st time tasting your mochi donuts so I only will buy 2, thank God. When I bit into their Churro mochi I thought I was bitting into an old fashion cake American donut doust in white granulated sugar (lacking cinnamon flavor) a hint of cinnamon that masked the low quality mochi texture and taste, so I spit it out immediately. Over priced and poor quality. The texture wasn't mochi-style so I don't know if flour was added to your mix, but there's something not right. Thanks but no thanks.

Sweet corn mozzarella and peach tea

Had the sweet corn mozzarella Korean ricedog and a peach tea. They said it was one of the less sweet drinks - they're premade and can't be customized to take down the sweet - but still too sweet for me. Halfway through I had to stop drinking. Also it's packaged in semi-hard plastic and has a metallic top so probably unrecyclable. Won't get again. The sweet corn mozzarella tho, def worth it. Was explained as a cross between elote and Korean hotdog. Rec eating in so you can enjoy max cheese pull and crisp coating with corn bits embedded. I felt like it needed some spice and used the habanero mango - it's not spicy but added a little tang which was good. Would get again. One thing about their donuts. Wanted to order them before but they don't open until 11am so not really conducive for morning group donut orders.

Perhaps it's my age, but I no longer enjoy these types of eateries. When I ask about the oil used for cooking, it's time to move on. I learned that Korean rice dogs are cooked in vegetable oil, while the donuts use shortening vegetable oil. I was impressed by the efficient ordering process via the kiosk. I ordered a churro donut and fried mozzarella rice dog. My previous visit was earlier in the day, and the donut was fresh. Today's donut was chewy, and I also ordered the mozzarella corn dog, which was made to order. To return, I would need to order earlier in the day for a fresh donut. Actually, I think I have just outgrown this caliber of restaurants. I say try for yourself. PS the package reminds me of a coffin. Death by deep fried rice dogs.

A little sweet & savory treat all in one place is definitely a win-win situation for me. Despite the small space, Mochinut makes a big statement when it comes to their Mochi Donuts & K-Dogs. This location is really meant for To Go orders since there is limited seating. Orders: Hot Cheetos K-Dog- surprised at the great Cheeto flavor. The cheese pull was the highlight of eating it. I usually go for simply items, but this is my new favorite K-Dog. MochiNuts(not pictured): Guava Raspberry Coffee *Free Mochiball with Pumpkin Whipped Cream Each Mochinut was fresh, chewy to the bite & nicely glazed. My favorite would be the coffee. As a bonus I was able to try a Mochiball with Pumpkin whipped cream inside, bc it was their 1st year anniversary! Every bit as good as the donuts, just more compact in size. But I enjoy pulling apart each section of the Mochinut more. Happy 1 Year Anniversary Mochinut!

If you haven't tried mochi doughnuts yet, this is your sign to try some! Mochinut | San Leandro, Ca They specialize in mochi doughnuts which are super light and chewy and Korean corn dogs that are super savory and perfect for an afternoon snack! Mochinut flavors are always rotating with new flavors and would highly recommend checking them out. They also have multiple locations around the U.S. I know I'll be back soon! Flavors: Cookie Monster Lemon Raspberry Ube churro Pumpkin Peanut butter Coffee

I was so excited when Mochinut opened up in San Leandro as I've been wanting to try those Korean dogs. The first time we got one Hot Cheetos and one potato dog half and half. The Hot Cheetos wasn't anything special but I really enjoyed the cheese side of the potato one which was still crispy after bringing it home. The next time, I got a potato cheese and a fish cake. This time the potato seemed quite oily and hard to finish by myself. When I asked if it's possible to get the Thai Ice Tea with no ice since I wanted to drink it the next day to avoid caffeine too late, they said it's already premade and pre-canned. Strange that the ice wouldn't have melted if it's precanned. That means none of their drinks offered has boba either since you can't customize which is not a big deal since I didn't want boba but for those expecting it because it's available in other locations, they'd be disappointed. The last time, I got the ube drink since I didn't want caffeine and tried their donut. I still prefer Modo because they're made to order and are therefore hot but I did enjoy the ube drink.

Good enough! Mochinut San Leandro is convenient for me, especially when I'm craving a Korean corn dog but don't want to drive out to the farther places that are dedicated to it. The plaza that the shop is in can get pretty busy so sometimes you might have to drive around a bit to find parking. The spaces are also tight so if you have a bigger car or prefer more room, I'd recommend parking on the street or in one of the other nearby lots and walking. The shop itself is quite small with very limited seating room. It looks like folks go there mostly for takeout anyways. You can order at the register but the easiest way is to order with their kiosk. From there, they prepare your order pretty quickly. The corn dogs are good, not my favorite. I usually go for the potato half and half. I appreciate all the condiments they have available. They have a lot of sauces and offerings that I don't typically see at other corn dog places. I've had the mochi donuts here before too and they're solid. Nothing too different than other mochi donut places. I haven't tried the drinks just yet but they've got a wide variety of offerings from coffee to milk tea to refreshers/lemonades. Something for everyone!

05.06.2023 - Dessert round two. After dinner and our first round dessert, mochinut was next on the list. Settled in the Pelton Shopping Center next to I-Tea. A small sitting area with tables along the wall. It gets pretty crowded after about 8 people inside. Different bottles of sauces/toppings are set on the table to self-serve when ordering their Korean-style hot dogs. Koreans love putting sugar on everything so it was nice knowing that everything comes plain so we can season it to our preference. Never was a fan of mochi donuts. Texture is weird and it tastes oily. Plus, the freshness only lasts several hours. Husband likes their hot dogs. I didn't try so I can't really review it. I tried their shine muscat soda that costs about $8 w/tax. Was it worth it? No. Soda was flat. The ice watered down the shine muscat flavor. Overall, very underwhelming. For that price, I'd rather invest in the shine muscat grapes itself for $40 from SJ Korean market. Service was a bit on the cheap side. When asked to separate one of the hot dogs, they seemed pretty stingy as they were not willing to give us another single-sized box. This forced my sister to carry her hot dog while driving all the way to Oakland. All-in-all, I can see why it's popular, but personally, nothing really appealed for me to return. Thanks for my first experience, MochiNut.

It used to be a restaurant called Edy's and they had the best lime freezes. His mother used to take him here in the 1960's! I can't believe that was over 60 years ago! This Top Dog has been here for a long time, around 21 years. The little alley way that has an entrance to the Top Dog, now goes to Trader Joes, but he tells me that used to be a Lucky grocery store before. The parking structure wasn't there either. My guide is a long time Top Dog fan, from the original Berkeley locations. He even made friends with the girl cook at the north Berkeley location and ended up getting free hot dogs! He says the prices sure have gone up since the 70's ... a Kielbasa was just 70 cents! That's $4.50 now! This location runs like most locations, you just tell the cook what you want and the sausages are already cooked or cooking on the flat top grill. The buns get heated there too and then you have condiments to add. I've been a fan of Top Dog, more the Berkeley location, but it's sad to see this location close. Soon, it will just be the original Berkeley location open at the south campus.

Kasper's is housed in a cool, mid-century vintage standalone building and has a parking lot like most fast food eateries back sometime in the last century. There were two people behind the counter, both obvious veterans who split responsibilities between dressing the dogs and handling the register. The menu was pretty straightforward: nine different dogs and a chili bowl plus soft drinks and fizzes. I was hoping they might have a Chicago dog but no such luck. Instead I went for the $7.39 Quarter Pound Dog with Chili ($1.29), Cheese ($0.99), and Diced Onion (free). So kinda like a Coney but not quite. I later discovered the one with a "C" in Hayward and have found they are more similar than different, product and menu wise. The only main difference are looks/interior of each place. I think there must have been some sort of split back in the day to form 2 different businesses that are so damn close in concept. But nowadays I think I'm more of a fan of the one with the "C", as the ones with a "K" just seem very 'franchise-y' to me. But for a quick fix, it did the job for me after not being in one in over a decade. First off, I want to address some recent reviews on how some are not pleased with the raising of prices. Jeez, what rock are these peeps living under?! It's 2023 and we have been steeped in a high rate of inflation for the past 3-4 years, and even before that, nothing was staying put, things climbed every year. And my 2 cents is that a hot dog here is still way under $10, so it is still a relatively cheap meal. Can't get too many things these days for under $10 bucks. And people are bitch'n from a $5 dog to a $7 dog. "Smell da the coffee!". This location does have a signature look that I don't remember from past locations near my town. This one the owner seems to display some trinkets and potted plants throughout, many being tiny succulents in pots. Kinda threw me off at first, as I wasn't sure what was going on, but it is definitely not offensive by any means. The outdoor walkway by the entrance even has a row of these potted succulents on the ground and at first glance got me to wonder, "who took the time to put these here?" But upon eating in one quiet afternoon, I gathered it was coming from someone here, probably the nice elderly lady solo working, possibly even an owner. Nachos ($6-$7ish/3*) These are basically your ballpark nachos, sturdy corn chips with that liquidy processed cheese flowing like lava. I'm not a huge fan of this type of nachos, but I don't mind it occasionally, like say a ballgame. I only got this cuz I wanted something extra to go with my hot dog, and I wasn't feeling just a bag of chips. Wasn't great but not to the fault of execution. For what it was, it was fine. Kraut Dog ($7-$8ish) Still same legit natural casing steamed hot dog. I'll take this over Dog Haus or over most modern takes on hot dogs. This is last century type of hot dogs, the types sold in wooden stands and/or carts long before food trucks and food delivery. The Bun didn't seem as warm as I remembered, but it is still quite soft. But my memory recalls a bun being pulled from the same steam holding area where the dogs were kept. That was special. The condiments were fine as I remembered. I should have held off the relish as I forgot that it is there on default. I just like kraut, mustard and onions. No big though. Now knowing this is here, I would easily come back for a hot dog fix. It is pretty much what I remembered and would love to support something that was a part of my childhood.

We have people to take care of as well so anytime I get an opportunity to treat myself to something I take a real serious and the idea that these young people just really didn't give a damn and it also felt very cold very cold and very, not black friendly
