    Roach in Thai tea
    Olivia D.

Sipping on my "Thai tea" I just bought from them as I'm reading the reviews for this place. Bugs? Let me check my drink. Bam, there it was. Well, damn. Thai tea - doesn't even taste like a Thai tea and found a roach in it. Hot coffee - more like scalding hot coffee. Been holding it for 15 mins and can't even drink it (let alone hold it) Pastrami sandwich - not even gonna eat it at this point BLT - not gonna eat this either. Asked them to not put sprouts cuz photo on the menu advertised it. " oh we never have sprouts. Sandwich never looks like photo." Oh ok. False advertisement cuz I wanted sprouts on the pastrami sandwich. All items (chips and beverages) on display were expired. $28 well spent on trash.

DoorDash Price w/ tax With Turkey Breakfast Sandwich Still under $30
    Anita T.

Avoid buying food from here because they will price gouge you. I sent my husband in to buy 3 sandwiches and a custard filled donut and somehow the total came out to be $30. He went back in to ask how was all of this equate to a total of $30?!? They said their prices just recently went up by a dollar. I wanted their Turkey lunch sandwich again because we ordered it from them just a few weeks ago for the first time and it tasted good. However, this time will be our last time going there... and they got my order wrong this time too. They gave me a breakfast Turkey sandwich and somehow still charge us $30 for everything. On DoorDash if you order for pick up with tax it came out to be a total of $26 with the Turkey breakfast sandwich and $27 with the lunch Turkey Sandwich. So obviously they put whatever price they want when a customer comes in to order. Not a good business ethics at all.

The food is fine but the customer service is horrible. I walk in and the guy looks at me and doesn't say hi doesn't smile just stands at the register staring at me. I let him know I placed my order on door dash and give him my name and he asked to see the door Dash receipt. When I show it to him he says he needs to see my name which door dash doesn't put. I'm the only order waiting and he just keeps pushing and insisting that he needs to see my name in the door Dash app. Finally he gives me my food and walks away. There are so many donut and bagel places, I will never come back.

What I got Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich

Wanted to try something new for breakfast. What I got was not at all what I was expecting. Never ordering from here again. I could've made this sand which myself at home for less than two dollars!!

Pastrami sandwich with avocado and jalapeños. I get extra pastrami. Absolutely finger licking delicious.

I like to think they are poi malasadas haha It would be nice if their hours were more consistent since seasonal flavors sell out quickly. I find their service to be quick and their shop can ridiculously busy and packed. There is limited seating, but the place is clean and well-kept. I would come here if I am back in Union City.

That donut was completely gone by the time it was my turn. It makes no sense not to have limits on popular items. Then, while I was waiting in line, a woman that came after me apparently told her friend in the back which donuts she wanted, and they took most of the remaining donuts before people actually waiting in line could order. I drove all the way there and barely got anything because of how unfairly and poorly this place is run. The donuts may be good, but the way they handle orders and lines is terrible. Don't waste your time unless you get there extremely early.

Immediately upon entry, you can see the huge display of neatly arranged donuts, malasadas, and pastries and they all look amazing! So many flavors to choose from that it was a little overwhelming. As others have said, the price point is around $5.50 per piece so have that in mind going in. Ordering was simple enough and servers were kind and patient. Parking is maximum 3 hours and there are some tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy your goodies. Overall, I think I'm still going to stay loyal to Doughweime in Union City, but these malasadas do live up to the hype. Everything bagel malasada: Surprisingly really good, a light cream cheese filling with everything bagel seasoning on the outside. And the texture of the savory donut was crispy and airy. 9/10 Strawberry cream malasada: Kind of plain, would've been good with strawberry bits inside. 7/10 Biscoff cream malasada: You can taste the real Biscoff crackers in the filling. 7.5/10

Love how fluffy and delicious the donuts were. The sandwich I got was loaded and came with good amounts of meat, also love how jalapenos are in there. The coffee was standard premade coffee that you pour at your own at the bar. Overall this is a great classic donut shop in the Hayward area off mission. When the opportunity presented itself, I came by today for the first time. The decor was mediocre but I was here for a take out order so my review will be strictly on the taste of the mochi donut itself. Mochi donut (Macha & Strawberry flavored) - 5 out of 5 They were fluffy and chewy in texture. Compared to your regular donut, it's just a different style of donut altogether. There is not actual mochi in the donut itself just a mental note. The sweetness wasn't overpowering which I liked and they're extremely fresh. Compared to the ones they offer in Osaka Marketplace, this one blows them out of the park. For any type of donuts, I general look for two things: 1. Are they fresh (if they aren't, you can generally tell from the dough being tougher if no other additives are placed in the dough) 2. The sugar toppings (If they place a heavier emphasis on sugar, I usually stay away since I'm more focused on the flavor instead) Service - 3 out of 5 The lady over the counter was a bit slow. She was on the phone when I came in and it took her about 10 minutes to finish her conversation before she was able to get to us. I think it was a phone order? It looked like she's the only person taking orders since the other workers saw us but kept on doing whatever they were doing. If you don't mind waiting a little like myself, it's a definite must try if you enjoy a chewier textured type of dough in your donuts or would just like to give a new type of donut a try. I don't usually judge too hard on the service staff in places like these since they're mostly mom and pop owned. Understand that when we come, they're just trying to do their best with what they've got is all we can ask for. Ultimately, the food takes home the win and Mochinut here did exactly that for me. They seemed to be Vietnamese owned since they sell other Vietnamese items here as well so keep that in mind. I'll definitely keep this place in mind when I'm feeling like a mochi donut again in the future!
