This is my favorite Starbucks. There is one girl that is usually there when I am and she knows exactly what to suggest for me! I'm not an actual coffee drinker...I like the flavored frozen drinks. I loved the coconut drink that they had this summer...of course, it was seasonal. She suggested some cinnamon-dolche thing...YES PLEASE!! Always busy, sometimes crowded, but the people come and go fairly regularly. read more

Two considerations in my 4-star rating: 1. The amount of volume this store has in business is insane. Besides the Florence store, I don't think the tri-state has a busier Sbux. 2. Finding a seat at this place can be tough, but it's improved over the past couple years due to seating arrangement. Expect to wait about 5-10 minutes with the lines being long here. Expect to have to scope out a place to sit as well; this seems to be the place for self-employed, students, etc. (Nothing against those peeps - they just squat a lot, if you know what I mean). Parking here does kind of stink: I've only had to go to the adjacent parking lot once when I have meetings here, but often I have to find a place to park just like I have to find a place to sit inside, often waiting for a spot. The baristas here are fantastic--I stop in frequently on my way to work. It can get pretty busy but it's a large location with lots of room. My only complaint is the parking situation. If you swing by between 8-9am there's a good chance parking will be a pain and the line will be long, but that's to be expected at any coffee shop. The parking lot in the area of Rookwood near Starbucks is very small, though, so it can get tricky at times. read more

Though the service and drinks are on par, the parking, and getting to the store itself are often a nightmare. Very limited parking, bad lot design, and constantly people who are in a rush, for whom you are in the way. I do not hang out in the shop, so atmosphere is nothing to note. We came in with a flyer about a yoga retreat we are hosting, and were told we could not hang it on the "community board". The community board was empty and they were the only business that told us we could not hang it. Businesses which include other Starbucks locations. I am not quite sure why they have a community board, when there is nothing on it. We are local instructors looking for local individuals in the community to join us on our retreat. Best Starbucks to do work. Comfortable, large tables, plenty of plugs. Now, there are a lot of things that can be super annoying about this location. It can get pretty loud and finding a table can be near impossible if you don't get there before the nightly onslaught of Xavier students. Also, parking is just hideous at Rookwood most of the time. Here's the thing, there is a tiny parking lot right by Starbucks. If it's busy, don't even bother there. Just park in the large part of the lot and hoof it over. While they're doing a good job keeping an orderly system for COVID precautions, the workers are unfriendly and rude. They create a stressful environment for customers- telling me I walked through the wrong entrance, asking (yelling) what I ordered in front of everyone that was waiting, and overall making people feel uncomfortable as they wait. This location has a spacious seating area which is key for a Starbucks. The staff is slightly older and more professional than many locations in the suburbs. The bathrooms are generally clean and stocked--also important. My main gripe with this location is the parking. It's almost always full so I often end up parking about 75 yards away. read more

I meet some fellow retirees there every week for coffee. They have two restrooms, I went to use one this morning. One of them had an out of order sign on it, the other was open but it was disgusting. It was dirty, probably from overuse and not being cleaned since they opened earlier in the day. I asked to speak with the manager but was told that he was busy. I finally called and was able to speak with him about the problem. read more

This Starbucks is fine. I like to come here to grab a drink before shopping at Rookwood. Parking lot is a cluster, obviously, because it's in Rookwood. If you do find parking, once you get inside this is a pretty spacious Starbucks, but they don't normally have open tables on the weekends. A lot of people like to post up here with their laptops and just hang out all day, but I always get my drink to go. Service is decent, and quality is usually up to par. Wish it was a little less busy and easier to find parking, then I would visit more often. read more

This Starbucks is always incredibly busy. Half the time I go to this location, the line is at the door, about 10-15 people deep. Frustrating, but I can deal with it if I feel they are doing everything possible to get the line moving. But, today, not so much. They had a worker standing by the end of the line giving samples of their Christmas blend while the line is about 15 people deep. Sorry, but use that worker in a way to move the line. I agree with the other reviewers about the music being loud. Definitely not a Starbucks to go to if you're looking to relax and chill over some coffee. read more

In every new city that I'm in, I find a new neighborhood Starbucks to love and to cherish. The Starbucks in Rookwood is my 2nd home away from home. First of all, it is a fairly large Starbucks which means there are lots of tables for studying. That is pretty ideal for any student who is going to stay there for hours on end. Second, it has great operating hours. I'm never here for opening, but they keep late hours. Sunday through Thursday, they're open until 11pm. Fridays and Saturdays, they're open until midnight. As a nocturnal student, this is pretty ideal for me. Third of all, I love the baristas here! They're (almost all) courteous and really enjoy customer service. That's not always the case across the board. And they love their work environment so much, they're here outside of their work hours! Fourth of all, it's not all overrun by students. This Starbucks is frequented by all kinds of people in the community, which provides an eclectic and less stressful environment to work in. Fifth, the employees don't care that you're here for hours and hours, and only get 1-2 drinks. Those are the best kind of people who don't judge you for your lack of movement or minimal consumption over the past 5-7 hours. Now for the cons: 1. Parking - it is so hard to find parking right in the part of Rookwood where Starbucks is situated. It's pretty much 50/50 that I will be parking in the lot right outside, and I tend to just go find a spot farther away instead of circling around like a vulture. 2. Internet speed - It's pretty slow, but it's still better than dial-up. And I ain't paying for it. 3. Number of outlets - I usually don't have a problem with securing a table near an outlet, but there have been a few occasions where I've come dangerously close to twiddling my thumbs while waiting for a table with an outlet to open up. I hate to let everyone in on this secret because I love studying here, but I can wax and wane about the wonderfulness of this Starbs for minutes on end. read more

The staff at this location is quick and efficient, especially in the early mornings! The downside is this location gets packed mid day and often it's hard to find a place to sit. Parkin can also be really tricky when it gets crowded. Its a great location right in the middle of Rookwood, close to lots of great restaurants and shopping! read more

I stopped into this location for the first time today and it was great! The location itself is a lot bigger than many others I've gone to -- seems like a great place for group get-togethers. The barista was very friendly and gave me his personal suggestions in regards to the drink I was ordering... and he said if I didn't like it, we could try a different one for no extra cost. I agree with the reviewer who stated that the music is MUCH too loud. It is much louder than your typical Starbucks. If the music was good, it wouldn't be quite so bad, but it stinks. What I really can't stand about this Starbucks, however, is that it is constantly JAM PACKED, day or night. This has to be the busiest Starbucks in the city. The employees are not rude at all, but they are constantly stressed out and hurried. Forget about a minute of friendly chit chat with your neighborhood barista. It is often hard to find a place to sit. Good luck if you have a laptop and want to sit near a power outlet to plug it in. I might be wrong, but I think if you buy a gift card and register it, the wi-fi is complimentary. That's what I did and get it free with no problems even though I'm not an AT & T customer. read more

I usually go to whole foods to get coffee but thought starbucks might be faster, turns out I was wrong. After I ordered I went to the counter to pick up my drink and the girl had no idea what I had ordered or what the girl before me had. She then made both of our drinks wrong. Barista Rachel at the Rookwood location is extremely rude, confrontational and unprofessional. I complained to the store manager about her behavior and the issue was not addressed. I contacted Starbucks customer service and still no legitimate response until I took my complaint to Twitter. Only after I tweeted about my disappointment in the handling of my complaint about their barista's verbal attack I got a phone call from the district manager. She certainly does not reflect what the Starbucks culture is about. I have not returned to this location since the incident and never will. This Starbucks is utterly useless. The operations manager for this Starbucks must not know their market because of the heavy traffic. The Starbucks rarely has the special for sale. It's in the middle of a business district. It gets high-volume traffic especially in the morning, yet they're never supplied right. This and the Kenwood mall are the most populated I've seen in the mid-town area, why can Kenwood keep up, but not you Rookwood? read more

This is a convenient location, although as other reviews have mentioned, parking can be problematic during peak hours. My low review, though, stems from the super early morning hours when parking is a piece of cake, but service is at low-ebb. The morning crew is consistently distracted, and generally more interested in talking among themselves than in serving customers. That might be acceptable, if they were competent in the work, though. Unfortunately, in the last 6 weeks (I'm a once-a-week-as-a-treat Starbucks girl), they have NEVER gotten my order correct. I own one of the amazing stainless steel Starbucks mugs, and apparently NO ONE there knows how to use it correctly. Each week, they overfill it so that the lid won't screw on without causing a coffee overflow situation. No matter how many times I say - 'fill it less' or 'use just a tiny bit of whipped cream' they ignore my words and leave me with a mess to clean up. This morning was the last straw - the young woman ADDED more coffee until the cup was nearly overflowing and then pulled out the whipped cream can - I had to raise my voice to get her attention (and I was one of exactly two customers in the store, so it wasn't because they were so busy) to point out that there was NO WAY the lid would fit on with ANY whipped cream. She gave me a blank look, muttered "oh," and pushed the cup at me. I'd ordered a salted caramel mocha, so I pushed it back and said - "you can still put the salt and caramel in." This earned me another "oh" as she complied with my request and pushed the cup back in my direction. And still, the coffee spilled when the lid was screwed on. I almost never write reviews, and certainly not negative ones, but I am completely finished with this location - the incompetence is epic at 6:00 a.m., and frankly not a good accompaniment to morning java. read more

I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the staff there are unfriendly and have managed to mess up my simple orders, every single time... The other day, I stopped in to order a Venti Caramel Latte (that's it, nothing crazy) and the girl looked at me like I had 5 heads... I wasn't sure why until I received my order, which turned out to be a Frappuccino.... Our order was incorrect and the barista, Thomas, used a very disrespectful tone of voice when I was asking him for the second part of our order which wound up being forgotten and I had to go back through the line again to ask for the second part. I was told it was already being worked on, when I confirmed it was not. 5 or 6 minutes later I received the sandwich I ordered. I was very displeased and this does not represent typical service I have received at Starbucks, but the workers lacked eye contact, overall respect, and clarity for a customer. read more

You have to take the good with the bad here. It's convenient, they are fast. There is no where to park. WiFi is fast but only a few places to plug in a computer. It's almost always too busy, the music is so loud you have to practically bellow to communicate. They keep it frigid so a sweater, coat and hat are important, especially at night. Main issues: need more room (like a second floor) and staff are typically disgruntled. On a lucky night, it's wonderful. I walked in a morning before going to my work for getting a cup of coffee during the last days of December last year and I had a coupon from online. There was one barista who took my order and another who was doing the billing as such I handed the coupon to the second barista while she was ringing my bill. So she goes 'why do they ( Starbucks giving out coupons or customers ?? ) do this to us ' and makes a face and rings the coupon. Then while handing the bill back she says " from next time make sure you tell the barista you have a coupon" I say "I did" so she goes " yeah but after I rung you once " . There was absolutely No pause between her and first barista for me to do the giving of this info any faster and I walked out feeling discriminated and inappropriately judged or holding a discount coupon from a place I had bought coffee hundreds of times.
