Ahhh the ubiquitous Starbucks...just like any other town, any other mall you got your Starbucks, your 7-11's, your Targets and Walmarts. No matter which location I go to, the coffee's always good! If it's not made to your liking or if there was an error, they have been happy to remake it. I lean toward the Nitro cold brews and the blonde lattes. I prefer my bean juice with no sugar and a splash of half & half. Although, when I have enough stars to use for a free item, I splurge and go for the Venti Frappuccino and put 4 extra shots of espresso in that baby. Make it count! Normally this would cost around $9. The kids love the Pink Drink, the creme frappucinos, and the breakfast sandwiches, but man, it can get pricey. They have a pretty good loyalty program you can access the old school way with a card, or through their app. Honestly, if they didn't have so many promos for bonus stars for me to use for purchases, I probably would only come here once a month. I think the only problem I ever had with Starbucks is when a customer stole my order one time!

The barista Jess is so sweet and accommodating! All the interactions I've had with this location have been good!

Great Starbucks location. There is no drive thru at this location though. Their bathrooms were clean. We ordered the chocolate cream cold brew and it came out pretty quick.

Black tea with lemonade, Americano with oat milk, passionfruit iced tea

I love this Starbucks location! All the baristas are very friendly, and they always have my order right with a smile! My Americano,I order with oat milk tastes delicious and the espresso beans are flavorful and never burnt. I also love getting my iced tea with lemonade, which is always refreshing. Definitely recommend this location whenever you crave Starbucks. They also have a huge parking lot as it is in a shopping center.

This Starbucks is my go-to place! The service is very nice and especially the guy that's always smiley and kind to everyone (not sure of his name). He's amazing! The drinks is delicious! My go-to is either a simple mango dragon fruit refresher or a iced matcha latte with caramel drizzle (very good and highly recommended!). The ambiance is very nice as well! I would recommend this Starbucks! I go to this place very often!

Adorable modest Starbucks with an amazing view. Stunning outside patio sitting area. This particular Starbucks offer a tranquil relaxed environment. I sit outside and enjoy my latte for hours. Not very big inside but the staff keeps it really clean, stocked and organized. Very kid friendly location. The ladies and gentlemen here are amazing baristas. They are incredibly efficient, prompt, friendly and accurate with the orders. Outstanding job! Definitely do mobile pick up, if you have the mobile app. This will absolutely save you some time if your in a rush. Parking is excellent.

My son really likes Starbucks grilled sandwiches and when we got there, we got two sandwiches and gave them to the barista who told us "our ovens are off because it's almost time to close". I asked "excuse me, at what time do you close?" And she said "9:00 pm". It was 8:10 pm!!!! I mean, I know it was Friday night, but it's not like we got there at 8:45! So, I'm sorry, but to me that's not good customer service. We ended up buying the sandwiches and grilling them at home :(

Great new drink and nice location in a shopping center. The view is nice if you'd like to hang out & the bathrooms are clean. The customer is the only thing that could use a little improvement

I love going to this Starbucks. I love the atmosphere and interior. It's one of my favorite places to study and chill. They always have friendly customer service. Thank you Jessica for making my drink!

Michigan Cherry Oat Bar warmed rocks...
    Jack M.

I stopped in this Starbucks for a quick pick me up before dinner later on in the evening. I wanted just enough to get the motor running, so I had the tall Americano, and I had to try one of the new La Boulange line of baked goods they offer. I had the Michigan Cherry Oat Bar (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/starbucks-chula-vista-6?select=3zteyvC3Xwg4hmzINACOuQ#XgP-CH6hiqnI0ebXvnWVzA). The Americano was great as usual with its smooth yet robust flavor, but what had me raise an eyebrow was that Michigan Cherry Oat Bar. I was fantastic, and I loved the sweet and mildly acidic cherry matched with the excellent moist flavorful oatmeal that surrounded the cherry (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/starbucks-chula-vista-6?select=3zteyvC3Xwg4hmzINACOuQ#m-eRExV4izwzqLhjwv-xTg). This was a great pairing with my espresso. I look forward trying some of the other La Boulange baked goods. Service was pretty good and the barista who took my order was friendly and helpful when I inquired about the new baked goods.

The staff was genuinely friendly, and we were able to find a seat inside without too much trouble. We expected a bit of a wait given how busy it was, but the timing ended up being a bit off. Our food arrived first--we had the avocado toast and the mini green chilaquiles. Both dishes were delicious, though the chilaquiles verdes leaned a little heavy on the garlic. (Seriously--hours later, even after brushing, lunch, and multiple rounds of mouthwash, that garlic flavor was still going strong.) We took our time eating, hoping the drinks would arrive, but they didn't come out until much later. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced churro latte. The cappuccino finally came out right as we finished eating--it tasted good, just a bit lukewarm. About five minutes later, the iced churro latte was ready, so we ended up taking it to go. That one was actually really good. Overall, the food and drinks were solid, and the staff made a great impression. I'd definitely like to come back and give it another shot. I love supporting small, locally owned businesses, and with a little adjustment to the flow--like pausing mobile orders during peak times or dedicating a team specifically to them--this place could really elevate the experience.

My husband and I both love ube, and Cafe 86 is known for its variety of ube desserts. It was fairly quiet when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Since we had already eaten lunch, we decided to stop by for dessert. The inside was pretty nice -- I especially liked the lighting, which gave the place an industrial vibe. There were couches and tables for seating, making it feel comfortable overall. We were greeted by a younger employee who could've been a bit more energetic and welcoming. The dessert case also looked a little sparse and underwhelming. My husband ordered the Ube Monster shake, and I got the ube cheesecake. The shake was pretty good, though not as creamy as I expected, and I wished the ube flavor was stronger. The ube cheesecake, on the other hand, was fluffy and not overly sweet, which I really liked. It also had a thick cookie crust that was delicious. Still, I would've loved a more pronounced ube flavor in that as well. I'm a huge ube fan, and when I make ube desserts at home, I usually add extra flavoring to really make it stand out. Overall, I'd come back again. Next time, I definitely want to try the flan!

Overall, it tasted okay, but I wished that you were able to customize it somehow (i.e add jellies, change slush flavor, etc). Maybe I could have asked but what made it challenging was that the menu did not clearly show everything they had to offer or it was hard to decipher which price went with what item. The cooler was pretty good and it was part of their $3 drink specials. Keep in mind though, it was not advertised, I just happened to know because I almost did an online order and saw it. I plan to go back and try some more things but there really needs to be more transparency about the menu and the prices clearly displayed.

We parked and noticed nearly all the lights were off. The pastry cabinet was empty, the tables were taped off. But people were inside and customers were in line. Emotions and energy were low, it was quiet and dim vibes all around. We walk in and see just one man working the cashier and making the drinks. He looked puzzled, a bit lost. We get in line behind someone ordering 4+ drinks and see that this guy didn't really know how to make the drinks. He was misplacing the ingredients and wasn't fully confident operating the payment system. The back counter was cluttered with miscellaneous gadgets, appliances, and syrups. It took nearly 20 minutes for the customer in front of us to get from ordering to receiving their drinks and we just watched in slight awe. The guy was apologetic and upfront, he was trying his best in a bad situation. They made some small talk and hinted that they were closing due to supply chain disruptions in Hawaii. I feel for them and wish them well. The coffee itself was ok. Flavor was decent but somewhat unremarkable. They offer different caffeine levels, up to I think 400mg in a drink. I just got the 200mg coffee. Don't know if I just built a tolerance but I fell asleep right after. We did want a pastry but with the baked goods cabinet empty, we weren't sure what they had left to offer. There was a long sign listing everything sold out between the pastries and coffee flavors. Overall the experience was odd and left a slightly bitter emotional taste in my mouth. They've acknowledged that they weren't in the best condition at that point and I do feel unfair to judge them at their worst. If they turn it around, I'm opening to revisiting. But for now, I don't feel compelled to go out of my way for it.
