One of the OG boba chains. This spot is not usually crowded, you can expect to be in and out. This location is in a grocery store food court with other buisnesses. I usually get their avocado smoothie with boba, theirs is the best, hands down. Their popcorn chicken and fried tofu are my favorite snacks. If you don't like your drinks sweet, I reccomend asking for 75% sweet. Good spot for milk tea and snacks. read more

This TapEx is inside Seafood City. I was picking up some catering next door and had a little time to kill, so I figured I'd come chill here and grab some caffeine. Service was okay. I got the Vietnamese coffee and... yeah, I was NOT pumped on it LOL!! I'm not gonna lie, it tasted kinda gross to me. BUT did it do its job? Absolutely. I walked in tired and walked out slightly more alive. Would I get that Vietnamese coffee again? Probably not...a for sure not!!! lol. But it's a convenient spot to grab a drink and hang out while you're waiting around Seafood City. read more

I came in about 20 minutes before ordering so I was being considerate if they didn't have what I was going to order. I asked for an oolong green tea and at first they had to check if they could do it and they said it would be a little bit of a wait so I said it was fine. And then I asked if they still had boba and they did. My drink came out in about 10 minutes which was reasonable considering they were about to close. Staff was also nice! read more

They have the yummiest, creamy avocado smoothie hands down! The drink tastes very consistent every time I order it. Unlike other boba spots where I've gotten chunky ice or unblended avocado, this one is always smooth and blended well. The Thai tea snow is also pretty good. read more

I visited this store on Tuesday, April 29 around 2:45pm and ordered five drinks. The girl taking my order kept asking "Is there anything else?" after each drink in a way that felt rushed and impatient. The same thing happened to my mom on April 20 with the same employee. The drinks were okay, but the service was not. I hope she gets some guidance on how to interact better with customers. The cashier name on the reciept is Jasarel. read more

I was very sad to say that my tea Chai Tea was weak and the was churchy bits of sugar..or not sure what it was. The server was nice she said they had mini Baby Boba's ?? We never had it but she when Explained there regular Boba was out of until 20 mins wait...I had 6 of us shopping at Seafood City and we weren't going to wait for 2 drinks. Pros: we had fresh boba, Delicious flavors: avocado, matcha & peppermint mocha snow bubbles Convenient location inside Seafood City Great parking (compared to other locations) Friendly service (the girl who gave our order was very nice and very asked if we wanted a bag+holder for our drinks) Cons: Other boba spots have a rewards/points program They didn't ask for my name nor did they give me a number which would help for order tracking I tried something new with the peppermint mocha flavor, so that's on me. Usually I'm a taro, mango... type. It was fine. Not as flavorful as I'd hope. read more

I went in today for a Orange cream snow bubble. Service was quick although the drink was not good. It tasted like a protein shake. I still decided to drink it anyways. A few more sips in, I found a dead fly in my drink. I immediately threw it away and i am completely grossed out. read more

We usually get boba every time we shop at seafood city and get 3-4 drinks each time. Snow bubble drinks. We never really stray from our norm orders: strawberry, mango, avocado, or lychee. Everything we get with boba except lychee, I like to add lychee jellies. Today was the first time that all our drinks were not blended/crushed thoroughly. From now on, I feel like I'm going to have to make sure the young kids making the drinks blend longer. And it wasn't just one drink. It was all 3 of our drinks. read more

First time in this Tapioca Express. I asked the girl who was working what was her recommendation and she said green tea KitKat and it tastes exactly like it! Just enough sweetening and boba. My friend got the Guava slush with lychee jello and aloe it was fresh! If you don't want a smoothie type of drink I really recommend the Guava drink. Highly recommend this place. Love love it! I judge boba place by their tapioca balls and it's sweet and soft! Bobalicious!! Located in seafood city.. I'm not a huge boba person, but then again, I realize I've said in about 5 other boba spot reviews. Haha. Anyways.. typical food court style service, you order and it only takes a minute or two for your drinks to be ready. Majority of their drinks are powder based, but they do have some that are made with fresh ingredients. Husband is a fan of their avocado smoothie, which is made with fresh avocados. I've had their taro smoothies, as well as the green tea kit kat.. both are pretty flavorful. With the green tea kit kat, you really get that matcha flavor, but didn't really taste that white chocolate. Ahh well. I had it with boba, and seems like they were a little skimpy with the boba. Another drink I like from tapex that I haven't had in a while, is their yogurt drinks. Seriously, it tastes like you're drinking yogurt. I like it with strawberry. Also, Right at the counter, they have a list of other flavor combinations you can try aside from the standard options on the menu. read more

This review has less to do with this specific location and more to do with the franchise's choice in flavors. There's an assortment of flavors available here, but there are three in my book you have to get absolutely right: Thai Tea, Taro, and Green Tea Matcha. These are absolute staples in my preferred indulgent tea alternatives. I've had all 3, none of which were particularly impressive. Most recently, I ordered the iced Thai Tea with Boba - which tasted primarily like milk and lacked the creamy, herbal, warmth (flavorwise) that Thai Tea possesses. It was overdone with milk. The staff was very accommodating when I asked them to make the Thai Tea flavor stronger. They were kind and handled the situation quickly. The color came out much more orange, alas the flavor still tasted quite watered down, like the powder or syrup being used just lacked a key ingredient. This is not a judgement on the staff's ability to create wonderful drinks, this is about the ingredients or supplies used during the crafting process. Also, if they offered non-dairy alternatives for these flavors, I would have scored differently. Points of redemption go to the caffiene levels in the Thai Tea specifically, despite lack of flavor, it does not lack in function. read more

I love coming to this Tapioca Express, in my opinion it is one of the top boba places in Chula Vista. You can never go wrong with Tapioca Express and my go to is Black Milk Tea with Boba. It is located inside the Seafood City, but parking is easy to find and usually the service is really quick. I usually go to this spot during my lunchtime and go on a boba run for everyone. The workers are always super nice and I definitely will continue to come! read more

I really love this convenient location for a Tapioca Express. Come here to get my asian grocery shopping on, maybe get a fresh fish to fry at the seafood area, chill with so Bubble tea, then head back to pay for my groceries. I'd say that's one of the best way to enjoy a Milk tea drink at this particular tapioca express. The staff is always friendly and my drinks are always made on time. I don't have any complaints here and if you arent a fan of the tap ex franchise... heres your chance to start! I recommend: Taro Snow Bubble with Lychee Jelly. Found another Tapioca Express! Stopped by on my way down to the outlasts and had to get a my weekly boba. This is more like my 3rd one for the week, hehe. Anyways, they have different drinks "off the menu" that looks very interesting: green skittle, Nutella, red skittle, purple skittle, nerdze, green tea KitKat. I'm trying a peach green tea this time. They also have yogurt frosts here (my daughter's fave). Not all locations offer this. It's in the Seafood City food court. So you can grab some yummy Filipino food and a boba! read more

I was hoping the would have a ginger milk tea because I was craving it, they dont carry ginger milk tea and settle for mango milk tea, It took her less than 10 seconds to make my drink and taste gross, with all the boba tea opening around the area, Tapioca Express is on last, never will buy boba tea from Tapioca read more

I've had a number of chain bubble tea places, and this is probably one of the better ones I have been to. The selection is great and I dig the customer loyalty program. Depending on who is helping you, you might not get glowing recommendations as the staff didn't seem to be super familiar with the menu (I asked about two different drinks and they shrugged their shoulders). C'mon people, know your product! That being said, high quality product. Decent price. Please come to the midwest already! Celebrity Rating: Steve Aoki read more

My kids and I can't get enough of this place! I love the cantaloupe and honeydew snow bubble. I didn't like the mango (it's not fresh, but frozen). On my last visit I tried strawberry coconut and it was soOO GOOD. My kids get crazy flavors like VANILLA COOKIE, CAPN CRUNCH, and RED SKITTLES. I've tasted them and they are good too. I prefer the small boba over all the choices they have. My son recently tried the rainbow jelly and it was great! I say don't try this place cause then you're gonna be hooked and want to come back all the time (and I don't believe they're low calorie or fat) read more

Not bad of a meal, I was here to order some crispy chicken, not too bad. Last time I was here they gave me corn and steam veggies which was delicious. This time around all they gave me with the chicken was a egg over easy. Reason why for the 3 stars is because I was expecting the veggies and corn again. Also time around they gave me an egg but they never mentioned how I at least wanted the egg. They gave it to me over easy which is not how I like my eggs cooked ever. I usually get my eggs over hard or scrambled. Also the sauce they had was only ranch and sweet and sour normally isn't a problem but I wanted ketchup this time. They don't carry ketchup!? Oh well. Anywho, food isn't bad, customer service is fast and they were nice. Just different from the last time I ordered here and from the convoy location. Ill still buy from here again because they were quick at the food service. read more

Omg this is the worst tapioca Express ever!!! I don't know why my husband and I keep buying bobas here and have never learned our lessons. There is no consistency! What a perfect way to end your grocery shopping at Seafood City--getting a "snow bubble" for a refreshing treat. Bubble tea, Bubble smoothie, whatever you want to call them...I love them boba and I love stopping here for a drink to take home. They also serve food here, which I think is odd...I think that's also why it takes a while for orders to be completed. Well, that and the fact that it seems like everyone orders several smoothies per order so expect a wait when you place your order. My faves: Coconut with tapioca bubbles. Almond Milk Tea (iced) with coffee jelly. Canteloupe with tapioca bubbles. There are so many different fruit flavors available and I had to laugh at the "secret menu" they posted that listed things like nutella, capn crunch, skittles...all sound way to sweet for me so I'll stick to my faves. There are also different kinds of add-ins if you don't want traditional boba--like grass jelly, mini boba, red bean, rainbow jelly. Makes it for endless drink possibilities! Great product. Friendly service. read more

This place is INSIDE of Seafood City. This was the very first place where I had tried Boba and I have been hooked ever since. If you're a coffee or tea fan who has not yet tried boba, definitely try this place out. The cashiers are okay, the service is fine. Nothing to rave or rant about here. However the drinks are surely to rave about. I high recommend the coconut milk tea with boba. It is on the sweet side, so if you're not looking to indulge in some sugary goodness than you might want to try something else. The boba is bomb! read more

Waited 10 min to place order. There was a couple in front of me waiting as well. I finally ordered 5 minutes later. So, I waited 15 min and that doesn't include picking up my drink. There were 2 others working on previous orders. An area of improvement: acknowledge waiting customers rather than ignoring them in spite of the busyness. read more

FYI Review: Been ordering drinks from here for a while now. No bad experiences until today, around 3pm we order two Thai teas with small boba, when my daughter started drinking the tea she suddenly almost swallowed a cardboard like material which she spit out. Not saying the place is bad, maybe pay more attention to what is being added to the drinks and try not to rush making it. Will still order though. read more

I have been going to tapioca express since 2004 back when I would go to Clairemont for their drinks. Ever since they opened up their stores here in the south they just have not been up to par and have been getting worse ever since. Here at the Seafood City location my Starwberry Coconut Snowbubble was hot to the touch with not an ounce of ice in it. I understand the boba was hot, but its not so hot it will melt all the ice as soon as its put together. On top of that a week before my wife went to the location by walmart and was served a spoiled drink. Unfortunatly she didnt taste it at the location but thats just unsat. They need to get their business together but I will go to Vanitea or 85 now. read more

If it were possible to give this place zero stars, I would do so in a heartbeat. The staff at this small little TapEx is horrible; there aren't enough workers per shift, so it takes longer than it should to receive your order. Especially if you're planning on getting food. If you don't mind waiting 10+ minutes for a small bag of crispy chicken, then cool, this place will be just fine for you. They have a horrible habit of messing up simple drinks here too. I ordered a CHAI tea snow bubble (and established with the cashier that it wasn't supposed to be thai tea) and a fried calamari ring snack, and they gave me a regular thai tea milk tea AND FORGOT MY CALAMARI. It wasn't busy at the time, so I'm not cutting them any slack. With that being said, I would suggest going to Plaza Blvd. or even making the drive up to Convoy for your TapEx fix. Don't go here, I don't know what their deal is. read more

This place is located inside of Seafood City. +Drinks I live close by which is good whenever I need a quick boba fix. I tend to get the same thing, Almond Milk Tea with boba, Watermelon Juice, or Peach Green Tea with Lychee. I've honestly never thought about getting any sort of juice because I usually get the Almond or Peach at every boba shop. But this watermelon juice is something else. The first time I got it, I was expecting a drink with the watermelon flavor, but it is what it is, I suppose. +Food The Crispy Chicken Snack is pretty good as well and you never know what you'd get because there was one time where it was mostly the crispy part and not enough of the chicken. Medium spice was the right amount, because I wouldn't dare to get the plain nor the one above it. +Service Pretty good, except they messed up on one of my orders and didn't realize it until I got home. Also, if you wander around while your order is being made, they just leave it there. Pretty much anyone could just walk up and take it because they don't check the receipt either. (I hope this doesn't happen to me) read more
