    Ube and vanilla latte
    Sarah C.

Wanted to try a new coffee place and found this spot through Google. Shop looked clean and modern. Staff were friendly and efficient. Loved that we were able to sit at a table outside and enjoy the nice weather. Ordered their ube latte, vanilla latte and strawberry crepe. The ube latte looked pretty with the vibrant purple slowly descending into the latte. The vanilla latte was good, but stronger than expected. The crepe was cooked well. The strawberries were fresh and sweetly satisfying. Paid $29.70 with tip. Will make a return visit to taste other items.

Stopped by here on a weekday, early afternoon. Cute coffee spot with a native vibe. There are a few tables outside, and decent size indoor seating. Service is quick and friendly. Their menu is simple but with flavors unique to Yaqui. I love caramel macchiato, so I tried to dulce beso. Good quality and not overly sweet. The location adds to the cozy local neighborhood feel.

Was impressed by this cute little coffee shop. Tried to come by the other day and the line was out the door. I came back bright and early to try it out. The coffee is delicious. The churro latte was so good I have to come back for it for sure. I also got a Mexican mocha that was good too. A little strong in taste could be compared to dark chocolate. The breakfast was also good. Small portions but im not complaining. Food was fresh and the quality was perfect. No where else sells a crossiant with chilorio. This place is worth a trip back.

Hot ube dream and iced horchata latte

Stopped by this charming neighborhood coffee shop not too far from where I live and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a hot Ube Dream and an iced Horchata Latte, both were well balanced, flavorful, and not overly sweet, which is totally up my alley. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. The space has a desert inspired aesthetic that feels cozy. Overall, a great local spot, and I'll definitely be coming back to support this neighborhood coffee shop.

Service here is really nice and super helpful with recommendations you feel welcomed right when you walk in. This was my second visit, and I always appreciate a good coffee spot that opens early. Just a heads up: they're closed on Mondays (I almost stopped by again, but luckily checked the map first). This spot is definitely worth trying if you're a sweet-coffee lover. I asked for my drink 75% sweet, and both times it was just right. I'm not in my "add an extra shot" era atm, otherwise I probably would've gone that route. This visit, I ordered the Dulce Beso hot and it was super good! my only wish is that it came in a bigger size for $8. If you're trying to get more bang for your buck, I'd recommend ordering iced. My first visit, I tried the seasonal cookie butter latte, iced with oat milk. It wasn't overly sweet and was definitely a solid choice ! I'd totally recommend it. The inside is huge with plenty of seating and a cozy vibe. The menu is big and easy to read, though a little overwhelming at first, but honestly, it feels like you can't go wrong. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by!

    Mini-Chilaquiles with Chilario & Egg

Great location in the new Escaya community in Chula Vista with plenty of morning parking available. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, with relaxing lo-fi music at just the right volume and plenty of seating for dining or getting some work done. I had previously ordered through Grubhub, but finally stopped in to dine in--and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Mayan in Wheels (vegan option--huge plus!) along with the mini chilaquiles with chiliario and egg for protein, and everything was delicious. While delivery has always been great, the in-store experience was even better. Service was fast and friendly, and the overall vibe made it a perfect spot to relax or be productive. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Pistachio. Ube. Anything you name it. This place has a really good coffee and fast service. Coffee is pretty strong and can really jumpstart your day. I would get here early because people are here early as well and the line can back up.

    Cortado
    Jack M.

Yaqui Coffee House made me a pretty good cortado. I was smooth and rich in coffee flavors and with only a touch of bitterness towards the end. I did not like that they did not take cash, and that for a Sunday morning, a day when people are out and about, they had not refilled the baked goods and pastries, but only carried a few items from the day before. That was very disappointing, especially when you have a significant amount of people visiting. The young man who took my order was friendly and had a good sense of humor. They offer a good amount of seating inside and outside and also offer breakfast items.

Matcha Meets Fresa and Churro De Mi Corazon Yes please!

Today, decided to check out this new local coffee shop. It was a really great experience. The young people were so nice and thoughtfully explained some of the yummy popular coffee options. We tried a matcha and coffee option and it was on point! The food options were a lovely surprise. They tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back and try other menu options.

    Cafe De Olla Cold Brew

Service was great, but the food and drinks we're disappointing. I am a matcha lover and their iced matcha was not good. It was light green and just tasted like milk. They made the matcha with a premixed matcha base so im not surprised. The green chilaquiles were also not good the salsa was chunky and tasted strongly of garlic. The maya on wheels just tasted like a vanilla latte you could get anywhere else, I didn't really get any horchata flavor. The chipotle chilaquiles were much better. The cafe de la olla cold brew was weak.

Churro De Mi Corazon has this 3 times in a row so good

Great taste, the flavors are consistent and the drinks hit the spot all the time. The customer service is always amazing and the spot is always clean, vibrant and great natural light, lots of table space inside and out.

Happy to have this great coffee shop in our neighborhood. They have a variety of coffees, even some original combinations. They do offer food and pastries, which I haven't tried. We ordered a Cortado with almond milk and an Iced Coffee Latte. Both of them were made to perfection. Great coffee quality. Service is great! That is one reason we keep on coming. Everyone seems to like working at that place. We have also seen the owner check on the customers to make sure they are doing good. Great space with sofas and tables to enjoy your coffee and food. Ambiance is inviting. Coffee place is located in an area where there are other business and houses. Great for the people that live there to walk.

They offer all the classic coffee staples along with a thoughtful selection of non-coffee items pastries, solid vegan options, avocado toast, and occasionally more substantial offerings like vegan burritos. It's clear they've put effort into creating a menu that appeals to a wide range of tastes without sacrificing quality. That said, the real highlight here is the coffee. Each cup is smooth, well-balanced, and never overpowering. There's a subtle, natural sweetness that enhances the flavor rather than masking it, making it easy to enjoy whether you're a casual coffee drinker or more particular about your brew. It's the kind of coffee you can rely on to be consistently good, visit after visit. Casa de Otay has become my go-to coffee spot not just because it's convenient, but because of that dependable quality. In an area where standout coffee shops are still relatively limited, it's a place that continues to deliver and is well worth a stop if you're in the South Bay.

My husband and I both love ube, and Cafe 86 is known for its variety of ube desserts. It was fairly quiet when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Since we had already eaten lunch, we decided to stop by for dessert. The inside was pretty nice -- I especially liked the lighting, which gave the place an industrial vibe. There were couches and tables for seating, making it feel comfortable overall. We were greeted by a younger employee who could've been a bit more energetic and welcoming. The dessert case also looked a little sparse and underwhelming. My husband ordered the Ube Monster shake, and I got the ube cheesecake. The shake was pretty good, though not as creamy as I expected, and I wished the ube flavor was stronger. The ube cheesecake, on the other hand, was fluffy and not overly sweet, which I really liked. It also had a thick cookie crust that was delicious. Still, I would've loved a more pronounced ube flavor in that as well. I'm a huge ube fan, and when I make ube desserts at home, I usually add extra flavoring to really make it stand out. Overall, I'd come back again. Next time, I definitely want to try the flan!

Overall, it tasted okay, but I wished that you were able to customize it somehow (i.e add jellies, change slush flavor, etc). Maybe I could have asked but what made it challenging was that the menu did not clearly show everything they had to offer or it was hard to decipher which price went with what item. The cooler was pretty good and it was part of their $3 drink specials. Keep in mind though, it was not advertised, I just happened to know because I almost did an online order and saw it. I plan to go back and try some more things but there really needs to be more transparency about the menu and the prices clearly displayed.
