Café 86 is that spot. I'm just glad they exist they've saved me from showing up empty-handed to way too many family parties. Their pastries is Gooey, moist, and dangerously good. Perfectly sweet, the upside down halo halo... it's a beautiful, icy masterpiece. I tell myself I'll try something new, but nah I always come crawling back. Bomb every time.

Ube everything.

Chill staff, comfy tables and chairs to do writing, music that's not too loud, and great coffee and pastries. I tried the ube butter bar which was tasty, light, and just the right portion. My latte was the perfect temperature and the espresso didn't taste burnt, so it was just the right pull. A simple, quaint place that's close to home and very comfortable. It's a top fave already, and I'm looking forward to coming back and hanging out.

Got the Upside Down HaloHalo today for my wife. We were supposed to share it, but she drank 90% of it. Drats! Next time, I'm getting my own!

If you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, look no further. Cafe 86 has you covered. With a plethora of Ube dessert options, you're bound to find something that satisfies your taste buds. I opted for; an iced Ube latte (yummy, sweet but not too sweet.) I didn't really taste coffee, but it was still delicious. What I love about their desserts is that they aren't too sweet. My favorite that I ordered was the Ube crack cheesecake. All the other popular items were sold out by the afternoon (2 PM). Get here early if you want to try their popular items. The inside is cute and modern. There's lots of seating available, and free wifi as well. Service was great. The men who served me from the counter were extremely friendly and answered questions I had about their drinks. Will definitely be back with company. :)

Came here based on the reviews and I'm glad I did. It's very quit and chill when you step into the cafe. I love that they offer free WiFi for customers, you can enjoy a treat and get some work or school work done. I was greeted right away by a staff member and my order was taken. She did recommend a treat as well since I was unsure of what to get. I got the Matcha Monster shake, it was so good. A mix of Matcha and Oreo cookies. I also ordered an Ube Cookie bar, that was also very good. The only thing that was a downside was my drink did take about 15 minutes to come out, I did think it was weird since I was the only person to order?. But it was overall worth it.

Bought an upside down Halo Halo this afternoon for my daughter and she loves it. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Ambiance was relaxing and love the store decor. Worth a visit while in Chula Vista.

I was excited to try this place since it's local, but found it strange they don't open until 12:30! The location is great , with lots of street parking ! The shop itself has great aesthetic ! Loved the artwork and the vibe inside of the shop. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with oat-milk but they said they only had soy or almond milk which was disappointing . As a coffee lover I was underwhelmed with this latte , it was too milky with no actual espresso flavor. My husband chose the chamoy-mango slushy and he really enjoyed ! I thought the price was a little high due to the actual quality of the drinks, especially my coffee. I don't know if I would return again unless a drink came well recommended !

Good coffee. Yet they offer more than coffee/lattes, teas, pastries, milk shakes, milk teas, slushes, and blended coffee. Very Clean, family friendly and inviting atmosphere. Modest prices. Indoor and outdoor dining available. We ordered a cookie butter latte and a vanilla latte. Both were good. Only one size available.

The moment you walk through the door, the smell of fresh baked pan hits you and it is everything. The selection of pan dulce and bolillos had me feeling like I was back in Mexico City. So many options, beautifully displayed. That part alone almost made the trip worth it. But the customer service... yeah, I'm not the only one who noticed. I asked the lady at the register in Spanish if there was any chocolate pan de muerto and she completely ignored me. Like, didn't even look up. Just called someone from the back in Spanish, which, mija, I understood every word. The girl who came to help me was a little better but not much. She told me the chocolate pan de muerto was sold out, which fine, I get it, it was a holiday. But that's literally all you had to say. No smile, no "sorry we're out," nothing. Just took my money and that was that. The panadería itself deserves five stars. The staff needs some work. I'll probably go back for the pan because it really is that good, but I'm keeping my expectations low on the service side.

They sell their señorita bread in multiples of 5, and the price scales proportionally. They also have some packaged breads at the checkout counter and a display case with donuts and malasadas. I got 5 señorita breads for $4, and a guava malasada. When I was handed my bag of goods, the señorita breads were still warm! I've never had this type of bread before so I have no comparison. However, the fat, cigar-shaped breads were really satisfying while hot and fresh. They are buttery, sugary, and chewy inside. The texture was a bit homogenous for me, but still quite tasty. I had a second one hours later and it was not as nice. I think they would definitely benefit from a reheat if you have leftovers. The guava malasada was not my favorite. The jam inside was more musty than fragrant, and very artificially red. The dough itself was well-fried and soft, even fresh out of the refrigerator on the second day. I love the textural difference of the sugar crystals on the surface, compared to a traditional donut glaze. I ended up scooping the guava filling out of the middle and eating the fried bread. Overall, while I enjoyed the señorita breads, Chula Vista is a bit of a trek and I would not go out of my way to get them. I am interested in trying Starbread in the Bay, to see if they taste different.

Absolutely phenomenal cake, perfectly sweet but not too sweet, incredible texture and incredibly moist but not too wet like some tres leche cakes can be. Very impressed and felt like the price $45 was fair for such a fresh, delicious and big cake. We had half the cake left over from 6 adults and one child. My Dad loved it, thanks for the amazing cake and for being so helpful helping me pick which would be best. All around great experience and I can't wait to try other ones. They have tons of different flavors and if looking for something specific, i was told it's best to order ahead either online or over the phone. They have a big variety of cakes all ready to go in their cake display. I chose the chocobombon since they didn't have any all vanilla cakes and this one had some vanilla in it and my husbands favorite is vanilla. I really liked that they had candles and cake decorations as well in the store and I bought a few Birthday embellishments which were all $1 each, great price! The staff was nice but not too friendly when I was trying to find out more about the cakes and flavors, I had to read the labels since she didn't provide me any details. The cake was just okay, it was very dense and a bit dry. The marshmallow frosting was a little thick and the overall flavors were definitely different but not sure I would get this flavor again. I would like to try a few more flavors and maybe a tres leches cake to see how those are. It is located in Chula Vista in a small shopping center, limited parking available.
