Stopped in to Home Coffee the other day on my way to work. Although the coffee was delicious, what stood out most was the incredible customer service. I unfortunately dropped my coffee in my car when leaving (bad day for anyone) but I desperately needed the energy boost so I went back in to re-purchase and the sweet barista remade it for me on the house. They also offered a rag to clean up if I needed it. They also wrote this sweet note on my cup. I will definitely be back! I got the Iced Lavender Latte with Oatmilk... delish!!

afternoon for a quick pick‑me‑up. They're running a February specials menu, so I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk and upgraded to ceremonial matcha (which costs extra). The matcha itself was okay, but pretty bitter -- even for me. It didn't seem fully mixed, so the bitterness was concentrated at the bottom. The strawberry cold foam was very minimal and the flavor was faint. The space, however, is nice and big with plenty of seating, which is great for groups. They also make drinks quickly, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. Still on the hunt for that perfect matcha.

Home has been on my list for a while now, but I'm hardly ever in the area. But today, I was! So I made sure I stopped in before my shift. I decided to order something from the seasonal menu. (Blueberry pancake latte) and when I tell you it was sooooo good! It's like if a blueberry poptart and coffee had a baby, but not too sweet or overwhelmingly blueberry. It was perfect! The staff was so sweet and welcoming. The place itself is huge with great natural lighting. There were a lot of people in there with laptops, I was surprised! Seems like a good place to do homework or gossip about work drama with the girlie pops. will definitely be back!

I wish I would've come here sooner ! I got their iced black coffee and can confidently say it's so good. When I found out it had charcoal, cocoa, and coconut oil, I was definitely on edge at first - not gonna lie, but one sip in and I was completely sold. I fell in love fast. It's bold, smooth, and surprisingly balanced. I think I'd been here once or twice a long time ago, but I honestly don't remember what I ordered back then. All I know is this drink had me hooked and already planning my next visit! The atmosphere is super nice and welcoming, and the space is big, open, and roomy it's perfect for hanging out or getting some work done. Definitely coming back for more!

Tahitian Vanilla Latte

I ordered the Tahitian Vanilla Latte, which is one of the drinks they're known for. Overall it was pretty good, but I felt like my coffee was a little too warm when I first started drinking it for being an iced latte. It is a very aesthetic coffee shop with lots of tables, making it a good place to study. It can get very busy and loud, but doesn't feel too crowded due to how spacious the coffee shop is. There is plenty of parking as well.

Tried a coffee place I've never been to. The coffee was excellent, and the vibe is even better. The interior is super clean with plenty of open seating, plus they have a few tables outside with a big swing that's a great touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Definitely a new favorite in National City!

I like that they open early in the day so I can grab a Vietnamese cold brew after a morning gym session. Service was friendly and quick. The space is very open. Good spot to work or study.

Promise Land + Chocolate Muffin

Immediately docking a star for no disclosure that this is a church cafe. Owned by the church. This should be on the company website clearly for people who want to go or not want to go because of it. Just seems misleading to not mention that. Anyway, let's get to the business at hand. The space was very cute. The interior was a bit small but there was a nice patio that said, the freeway noise was extremely loud from there. Now on to the food + drinks. I ordered the "Promise Land" latte and a chocolate muffin. Neither were bad, but they were just "meh" docking a second star for that.

Great pistachio latte and a bag with all the vibes.

This place has great customer service and really good coffee. The decor inside is very inviting and warm. I was stuck between the casita and pistachio latte. I asked the barista for their opinion and I was given a full breakdown, it was amazing. I went with the pistachio latte, 1/2 sweet, with almond milk. It was fantastic. The nutty flavor of the pistachio paired really well with the flavor of the espresso and the suggestion from the barista to go 1/2 sweet was perfect. My friend ordered the casita so, I got to try that as well. It was equally delicious.

Tahitian vanilla latte and banana cream matcha ($5.95)
Allison L.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and tried their new banana cream matcha! The matcha is definitely on the sweeter side and became too sweet to drink after a while, but I enjoyed the banana cream! Decently priced for the size but I wouldn't get it again. Cute and clean interior and service was fast and friendly

If you are a Macha person and this is your place, they have ceremonial Matcha I was really hesitant about what to order, but the staff was 10 out of 10 didn't feel rushed. They really helped me understand the difference between Matcha and ceremonial Matcha. Ended up with a dragon fruit ceremonial Macha, was not too sweet My husband is not a Matcha drinker or a coffee drinker and they also made him feel very comfortable with asking multiple questions. The ambience was perfect for solo or group study groups If I'm ever In San Diego, I would definitely be here again Unfortunately, I lost some of my glasses which was totally my fault but the staff was able to respond in a timely matter through text , use their number through their website that was the fastest response

Whenever I'm in National City I make sure I stop in and pick up a coffee here. There isn't many coffee shops in this part of town so when Home Coffee opened it was nice to have a local shop other than the chain store coffee shops. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Alyssa N.

We visited this shop around 1pm on a Sunday and the line was sooo long, good thing they offer online orders! The shop itself is so cute, lots of seating and people working. Lots of parking too, it's tucked near the back of a plaza. The staff was really nice considering how busy it was. We ordered matcha lattes because we're not big coffee drinkers and the matcha was alright. I saw the employees whisking the powder so I could tell they use real matcha, but I do think it was too milky for our liking. I would visit again to try their other drinks if I'm ever in the area.

The biggest flex of this place is the fact they had a dj playing music the moment you step in. I already knew this place was going to be fun because of this reason. Chili Crisp Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (4/5) Nice and light for a breakfast option. Not too heavy, which I appreciate. The sauce adds a nice flavor profile to the sandwich. I just wish the sandwich had a little more of the chili crisp so I could taste it in the meal and really bring the whole thing together. But still a great option and tasted delicious regardless. Tater Tots (5/5) Tasty and crunchy. There's a specific seasoning to the tater tots that really elevates the flavor, but i can't pinpoint. Really pairs well with any dish that you order from this place, really! Highly recommend and would come back the next time I'm in the SD area!

Despite no cold foam it was still over 8$ plus tip ended up being 10$ for a small matcha. It was delicious, but the whole cup was filled with ice i barely had much to drink. IMO no matcha is worth 10$, especially when you run out of a main ingredient (cold foam) and barely any drink. I typically like to get hot drinks for this reason, unfortunately that wasn't an option Probably won't be back, way overpriced for what you get

They also waited while I looked at their giant menu to figure out what I want. And not giant in a bad way, giant in a many options way. There was plenty of seating inside and outside so we grabbed a booth and made myself comfortable until my order was ready. The inside was decorated very cute with lights. We ordered a Thai and Taro blended milk tea, a Tiger Tea with boba, an order of Cheese Curds and the Brick Toast with Honey Butter. The Thai and Taro blended milk tea was so good! It had such a balanced flavor! The Tiger tea with Boba was very earthy and subtle flavor but still so good! The Cheese Curds were freshly battered with a golden fry on it that really showed how clean their oil is! And the Brick Toast with Honey Butter was such a soft bouncy bread that would pair beautifully with a morning coffee. Over all the entire menu is something I want to keep exploring and I definitely recommend SD Boba Tea!

Lets talk about the vibes first...amazing decor and vibes, decor and walls and atmosphere is very cool and unique I truly love it so much. The staff is very nice, offering suggestions on drinks with big smiles and welcoming energy. Now the drinks and food: the drink I got last time was an iced mocha (no picture but I remember it was very good). This time I went with my mom and we both got the "Moon" drink.. a Chai/Matcha which was such a good drink, I want like a 40oz of it to take with me home for the week. I also ordered the pesto turkey sandwhich to share and I can not express how good this was. Perfectly crispy, juicy and fresh. Took the first bite and literally gasped because not only was the bread toasted to perfection but the veggies and turkey were so flavorful. The veggies and pesto and turkey were also layered in a way that made every bite delectable and that to me is art. Loved it, want more of it and I WILL be back to try more drinks and sandwhiches.

It's third ave I mean if you are from San Diego you know it's either neighborhood parking or the meters. Not a big deal though. I am greeted by Karely and her big smile, one of the baristas. It is tiny location but long, they have two gender neutral bathrooms at the end. A few tables to sit down inside and out. A cute bench with the view of third ave traffic. Interior decor is super cute I loved, one of my favs was this board they have which is a basically you pay a coffee forward and you put the sticky there for the next person to get their drink. I totally don't work there so I would just reconfirm what can be redeemed. Drink: I get an iced dirty chai WITH banana cold foam. 10/10 must try. They also offer matcha for you matcha lovers. Grind house has found a new customer and yes, I've already brought so many friends here. My only suggestion would be to maybe have a phone charging station, that's all! :)
