Came here for breakfast on our way to the beach just a 10 min drive to the beach from here. This place has so much charm and character it was adorable for the decor to the ice bear in my iced mocha. Coffee was delicious and so was my waffle platter. I was craving a good waffle and this came with banana and strawberries. It was so delicious my husband got steak and potato's and my daughter got an egg plate both said their food was tasty and they would order again. The service was great very attentive came and checked on us frequently. This is a small restaurant so be prepared to wait the parking lot is small as well there was a parking attendant who helped find the right spot. If you don't speak Spanish let them know because they will first speak Spanish and then if you need English they will speak to you in English.

Obsessed with this place! My banana latte was amazing. The cute bear shaped ice was so pretty and the food was so good. I will definitely be coming back! The service was top tier. My friend brought her puppy and they brought out treats and water for him. They don't rush you once you finish your food and it's very cute inside. It does seem like a busy spot so definitely come early or make reservations if possible. Prices were great too!

Adorable quaint restaurant located next to a local market. Arrived at 10:30 on a weekday and there was no wait but I did need to park in the back as most of the open parking is reserved for market. The menu is brunch with options for all. I highly recommend an iced coffee or tea as it comes with a large teddy bear ice cube and a fresh flower. While the restaurant is decorated nice, and the food was good, I would really attribute the five stars to the level of service the server provided.

Red chilaquiles with over easy eggs, potatoes and beans. Strawberry Matcha Latte.

Beautiful interior in an odd location with four parking spots. Service is prompt. Food came out not even five minutes after I ordered it and it was served cold. I didn't send it back. The plate was served beautifully and so was the drink. I had the strawberry matcha, which I assumed was gonna be warm, but was served iced instead. I recommend this place so you can see how pretty it is, but not for the food.

We found this place online & liked the Christmas decor they had. The inside is a bit small but there is plenty of tables. We only waited 10 mins to be seated. We ordered the french toast & pancakes platter and the machaca plate. They had good portions for the price. The french toast was delicious & the pancakes were soft & fluffy. The machaca plate was not my favorite and tasted a little too dry to my liking. I took a star off for that & another star for only having 1 restroom available for all genders. I had to wait 5 minutes for a man to finish using the restroom. Last thing, the waiter only checked on us one time as he stood behind the counter.

Wow! My parents brought me here for my first visit on Sunday to celebrate my birthday. I'm so glad they did, because I've had it bookmarked to try for a while now. It's a small place and they do not take reservations, but we did not have to wait more than about 30 minutes for our table of 4. The service was great. They spoiled me for my birthday! And the food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. I can't wait to go back! We enjoyed the following entrees: - Two Eggs Any Style - Waffles Platter - Steak (unsure menu item name?) with rice and beans - Mimosa Flight

Egg whites omelette smothered in red sauce with respective, beans drizzled with some queso fresco, and some nice potatoes.

The food was amazing. It was definitely top-tier. We started off with some coffee and the Mazapan latte didn't miss. I had an egg white omelette which had mushroom cilantro, spinach, and mozzarella cheese inside smothered with some red sauce so yummy super big portion. My wife had a chipotle Chilaquiles with Arrachera the best she ever had so she says. everything was great. The service was amazing very attentive and sweet and the ambience was a super vibe. Highly recommend this place to go with your wifey or even a group of good friends.

Food, coffee and service were all excellent! I came with my friend on a Thursday and this place was consistently busy. I had the iced horchata latte and it was cute and delicious! We split the pancake platter and the chilaquiles, which you can choose from rojo, verde, chipotle or mole. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but they do their best to get their guests seated as a table becomes available. They share a parking lot with a market, so parking is VERY limited. I can imagine on the weekends this place is very busy, so maybe come by in a weekday if you don't want as long of a wait. Definitely recommend!

Thank you El Encanto for your Súper customer service by Jesus he was patience as we were a party of six . The avocado toast was delicious all fresh. The chilaquiles verdes are just out of this world yummy just like home made. The french toast was well served and the fruits were fresh. The matcha strawberry oat milk with ice cube coffee teddy bear on point and so cute! I highly recommend El Encanto!! I will be back soon!!

Very small and intimate place to have a great meal. I came for brunch and loved the ambiance. It's definitely social media worthy and the aesthetics are beautiful. The food was really good as well! We had a great time and it's reasonably priced. Be prepared for a wait outside for a table. The parking lot is small so prepare for that too! It's right next to a supermarket.

    Lotus dream latte 10/10!!!!!

Very cute restaurant. Food and drinks were very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Restaurant is small so it gets busy very quickly. Will be going back!

Finally got to try this place and it was a really great experience. The servers were really nice and super friendly, and the food was delicious. Got to try the drinks with the bear ice which was really cool, and there was a good amount of flavors to choose from. A good amount of seating is inside, while parking can be really tight since the restaurant shares the lot with a grocery store.

I told my friend the food was worth the wait. After an hour we got sat at the bar and our first server was friendly. There was a transition of servers (not sure if he left for the day or went on lunch) and the new server would check on everyone at the bar except us. My water remained empty for most of the meal. The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!
