I was in the area shopping near 55 and decided to stop in for a few. I come to this Starbucks every once in awhile. Sometimes my drink orders are not exactly right. On this visit, I ordered my usual, a grande vanilla bean coconut milk extra hot latte. At first sip I noticed no vanilla bean taste. The person taking my order didn't seem to know a lot. I took my drink back and told her that the vanilla was missing. She was eager to add the vanilla and did not push to remake it..(which I thought Starbucks policy was to do that) I told her to just add the vanilla. I was tired at that point The drink still didn't taste great and an hour later I realized there was vanilla syrup and NOT vanilla bean powder which this drink is suppose to have. Anyway, I come to the conclusion that I need to be more alert when odering from this Starbucks because they are not consistent. read more

What and amazingly stupid manager. I came her and asked for a pour-over as the dark roast I did not like. The lady behind the counter repeated that I have three choices for coffee. Well, one was a medium one was blonde and the other the dark which I didn't like. Then she been repeated 3 times the same statement. I asked the manager to give me a pour over of a different roast and she declined because she is not willing to open up a box of coffee because she said she must throw it away afterwards. Came in through the drive thru a few minutes before closing, felt so lucky to have caught the barista in time. Ordered my drink and asked for a pup cup for my dog but they said unfortunately they wouldn't be able to do it (not sure why, it's no different than handing a customer their drink). 15 minutes later, yes in the drive thru still, I pull up to the window and found out my drink was made hot instead of iced. No big deal but the baristas couldn't remake it because they had already started cleaning their espresso machines, I asked for a cup of ice instead so I could just pour the hot drink into it & both baristas rolled their eyes and didn't even apologize. Took their time to get a cup and were clearly in no rush. Didn't hand me a straw either, if I hadn't been in the car with my dog and having been waiting 15 minutes I would've asked to speak to someone. They didn't charge me for the drink but their poor attitudes was uncalled for especially when it was their mistake to begin with. At $8 a drink, an apology goes a long way. read more

I have worked in RTP for around 7 years and live in Cary, so I have tried this Starbucks around 10 times which they always get my order incorrect and it's always the morning staff just. I think I should mention there was no one there in the drive thru and no one inside at the counter. Today, I ordered a Café Misto with almond milk and 5 Splenda. I get to work and it does not taste right. I check the tag and see that they did a pike's place with almond milk (btw misto is drip coffee with steamed milk). I call back into the store and ask to speak to the manager. When I told him the issue, the response I get is that they were only human. I was not mad or being irate, had just stated that the order was incorrect. Because of this experience, I will never go to the location again. I usually frequent the one on Davis every morning due to this one always messing up, so will continue to do so. read more

This review is for things having to do with this location. Everybody knows what Starbucks coffee is all about and you either like it or you don't. This is a prime location for all the RTP'ers heading up 55 in the morning. Always parking available and the drive-thru is pretty quick too. The inside is bright and clean, but there are also picnic tables out front. The service here is outstanding. The staff remembered my daily coffee order after only two visits and they are extremely nice. It's all I want for my daily caffeine. Quick, easy, friendly. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. I walked into this Starbucks for the first time on Friday morning. It was packed and there are plenty of people in line. I looked around and saw how new and updated the store was and was very excited for my experience. Then out of nowhere I saw a barista who is working the oven yell at a customer about a chocolate croissant. The customer was politely trying to interject to let her know that she had not received her chocolate croissant. The barista kept telling her to "hold on" instead of addressing her concerns, then she went and put that same customers other food item at the other end of the bar. The lady the had go get that food item come back to get her chocolate croissant for which she had been patiently waiting. The barista was visibly angry: rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. As soon as the lady walked out, she stated loudly to a coworker, "that lady with the chocolate croissant was working on my nerves!" I thought this was one of the most rude and impolite interactions I've ever seen. Even though it wasn't my own, I was mortified and I could tell that the lady was as well but that she didn't want to argue with someone who is clearly so ignorant and ill-informed about her role as a customer service agent for this company. When I got to the front of the line, I was warmly greeted by another barista who was working in the drive-through. He took my order even though he knew he wasn't supposed to just to attempt to expedite the line. He did a fabulous job and was warm and friendly. Unfortunately the rude young lady completed my order with plenty of eye rolls and huffs and puffs to boot when I told her I needed a second to reload my Starbucks card because the balance on my phone screen differed from the actual balance. (An honest mistake). The baristas working at the bar were very kind even though I had a very complicated order, as I've come to like my chai tea lattes a very specific way. They still delivered my drink with a smile and assured me that it was no inconvenience. Sad part is that this one bad apple has spoiled the whole experience for me and I will not be returning to this location! I would rather drive the extra 5 to 6 miles to the Grace Park location and receive Starbucks' signature five-star customer service. read more

I don't really understand how this Starbucks location got so many poor reviews. They must have gone on bad days, which all companies have. I go to this Starbucks almost every weekend for 4-8 hours, depending on how much work I have that weekend, and go out of my way to go to this location (an extra 10-15 minute drive forensic on traffic). First of all, I've never received a bad drink from this location. When it's slow, I always ask their opinion for something different, and they are always very friendly and helpful and have yet to let me down. The customer service is great. I use to work in the fast food service industry when I was in college, so I understand when there's a long line and they don't have time to chat - but even when it's busy they are still very friendly. When there is nobody behind me in line I can easily strike up conversation and joke around with them. They recently hired a new girl - stems dark skinned with a shaved head and she's just a doll. I really like her. Her customer service is great, and she didn't get frustrated when I asked her questions she didn't know the answer to yet - and always got an answer for me. She's wonderful. I hope she sticks around for a while. She remembered my name next time I came by. The atmosphere is pleasant. I like the way this Starbucks is arranged. It probably isn't for everyone - I know some Starbucks have kind of sectioned off, private areas, but I like that all the seating is in one general proximity. Even when it gets busy, it still isn't packed, even though it's a smaller venue. The outside seating is great, although they should consider having a trash can out there. I haven't tried to drive through, so I have no opinion. The food they serve is awesome. Aside from the bakery items - which they always offer to warm up for me - they have small appetizer dishes that are tasty. The truffle Mac and cheese is to die for. It's just as overly priced as the drinks themselves are, but if you've been to Starbucks before, you should already know what you're getting yourself into and know not to expect low prices, and shouldn't be a complaint. They also have a wide variety of wine on their menu, but I do not drink and don't know much about wine to give a fair review. Almost every Sunday I spend in the Starbucks they have someone bring around samplers, whether it's of a particular food item on the menu, chocolates they sell up front, or even drinks. It's my favorite time of the day because I've gotten to try things I never would have ordered or bought on a whim. Even though I spend a LOT of time there, they don't care. I have a little corner table and stay out of the way, so that probably helps, but I totally take advantage of their wifi and sitting space. I started to feel bad at one point, but one girl reassured me that is what they were there for. There are only two downsides I can see. The first is cleanliness. I've never had trouble in the bathrooms, but the dining area itself gets a little sticky and the trash area gets really bad later in the day. Like, really bad. That and depending who is working that day it will be very loud. I really like it when the staff team obviously gets along, but their loud joking gets a little rowdy sometimes. There is one girl that works there that doesn't seem to understand how much her voice carries. But at the same time, I spend a long period of time there, and she isn't ALWAYS loud, it's just when she gets loud, she gets LOUD. It's nothing headphones don't help with, though. And it's a public coffee bar, not a library. All in all, I love this Starbucks. It's my place and my go-to. I really like it here and don't understand why it has so many poor reviews. read more

I have gone to this Starbucks on various occasions over the last 4 years and I have yet to be impressed by the quality. I always get a hot chocolate and some sort of pastry. While the hot chocolate has been decent at various times, the lemon pound cake has been awful every single time. It always tastes like it is 5 days old. I felt ripped off. I have visited other Starbucks and LOVE the pound cake. I always want to give it another chance here, but I have always been disappointed. This place is horrible on so many levels! Wish I had read the reviews before venturing all the way out here! I was looking for a change in scenery from my usual Starbucks at Parkside and decided to drive an extra 10 minutes down the 55 to check this place out. Were do I begin? The tables were sticky and full of crumbs, fruit flies all over the place (how disgusting!) and the workers seemed miserable. They forgot my order and I just waited and waited. Honest mistake, but when I asked about it, one of the baristas asked what I ordered and then said that the other guy should have made it. The "other guy" didn't even bother to look up at me and just asked what I ordered, after I told him, the first barista chimed in and said that she'd make it for me... of course it was after making me wait another two orders who came in after me, like WTF? Not only that, but the drink tasted horrible, so I asked her to make it again and I could tell she was annoyed, but tried to hold it together... This was by far the worst sbux experience I've ever had... and I'm from nyc, which means I'm used to grimy-ness and nasty attitudes, but I didn't expect to feel so close to home here! Thumbs down! Definitely won't be back to this location and sticking to my regular Starbucks where the service is friendlier, tables cleaner and atmosphere more inviting. read more

Top notch! This is how a coffee shop should be ran :) I've been going to this particular location for a few years now. If you stop by this location in the mornings, they are quick and friendly. On one occasion, I experienced bit of a wait (this was very unusual), and the lady at the window apologized AND gave me a free coffee coupon to boot - without me even suggesting there was a problem in the first place. Now that's customer service! This is my choice Starbucks location because of it's outstanding customer service and amazingly well made drinks. Great job guys... keep it up ;) read more

This is the slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. Maybe it's because I'm use to the quickness and friendliness of the Seattle Starbucks. Order times can sometimes range upwards of 10-15 minutes even in the drive through. Always a line that literally wraps around the building because the service is slow. I would also say they are not the friendliest either. If this werent the only option for coffee on my morning route to work, I would really never come here. read more

This is the closest starbucks to my house and i hate going here. No matter what time i go, the same older man is working and continuously makes me and my 17 YEAR OLD SISTER extremely uncomfortable by constantly flirting with us. Horrible experience. I went to starbucks in high house rd this morning, and after I ordered my drinks and sandwiches. The barista who worked at the register told me my starbucks card didn't have any money on it. I told her I just reloaded it before I walked into the door. she looked at me with "no, you didn't" Face, and She said it didn't worked. after I tried scanning my starbucks card so many times, she said," let me re-enter the system again and see if it works." After she re-entered the system, she was like," oh, I think I need to go back to the system after you using your reward, and charge you for another stuff." She didn't even say sorry to me while I felt humiliated during the time of ordering and paying. Later on, I got my drinks. But the iced CAM was way too sweet compare to any other stores that I have tried. They did offer me if I need any other drinks but I didn't believe them anymore. Comparatively speaking to all other Starbucks' I've been to, this one is the best. I once forgot my wallet, and they comp'd my entire order of 2 Venti drinks, 2 pastries, no charge, and trust me I wasn't asking for it. That kind of stuff never happens to me, let alone at a Starbucks. On another occasion I was given a discount for a long wait, again not asking for it. To me that is where great customer service begins, because it's not like these people know me here. I've never been inside, always through the drive thru, so the experience in there may be totally different, but I don't see anyone wasting time here with the fake, hold up the line "I care about you and your day" chit-chat. Actions speak louder than words for me. The line can get quite long here, so if you don't like that or don't have time, pick your times, and you'll probably have to avoid AM rush hour. Just take my order make me my drink and get it to me ASAP, that's the way I like it. Also, there are plenty of other locations where they can't get the standard drink recipes right and I've never had that problem here---always come out just right! read more

By far the worst Starbucks around. I've visited a couple of times because my child's school is close by and it's convenient. I order a pretty simple drink, so I trust they're capable of making it, but every time I drive away regretting my decision. They either make it wrong, or just give me the wrong one every time. I usually wouldn't care, but I'm dairy free and today instead of a soy iced Mocha, it was an iced white mocha with extra ice (?) and when I said "it's fine, I'll take it if it's soy" (because at this point I had been waiting for far too long) and he said "yeah yeah, it's soy". Well...after a few sips, my stomach is telling me different! Anyone who's dairy free understands what I'm saying.. The reason people choose Starbucks is because of the consistency throughout the company, but this location on 55 lacks that consistency the company is known for. read more

This Starbucks has the WORST service I've seen. The employees always seem miserable. We had a lady who was taking our order and she kept repeating it over and over. Which I understand you want to get it right. You would think after repeating it so many times you would get it right! Nope! I said 4 times Iced Venti Caramel Macchiato. She wrote down Grande Caramel Frappe. When I asked the girl to fix it she told me "Well it says Grande Frappe". I said that's wonderful! "But I SAID Iced Venti Caramel Macchiato 4 times to her". They won't admit there mistakes and are quite rude if they mess up! Your job is all about Customer Service. If you're not satisfied with your position then leave. I'm tired of coming here and they mess up my order each time or they are out of everything! This Starbucks needs new management or new employees. read more

And it took them a really long time to get a cafe mocha made (there were no other costumers at the time being serviced). I would call that pretty bad service. After my sister purchased two bags of popcorn and asked for the ice, they charged $2 for the ice and the Barista threw the blender across the counter frustrated because she says they "don't usually crush ice!" This is the worst starbucks I've ever been to. The service is the absolute worst - especially the drive-through. I've written to SBUX cust service several times and they 'say' they will let their mgr know, but the service just continues to be awful. I've now switched to dunkins in this area because I refuse to put up with being tormented at the drive through for my $5 drink. They never get my order right, I have to wait for sometimes up to 12 minutes and today I actually just drove away because it was worse than ever. There are several bad employees here but there is one in particular that has just got to go. The way this location is run is completely unacceptable and it's been going on for several months now. read more
