I stand corrected by my previous review on them reusing nail filer/buffers. They do use new ones for each client, as I've witnessed it. We both had the Dahlia mani and spa pedi. I took Alan to Dahlia because of the amazing upper massage that comes with the Dahlia mani and wanted him to experience it. Angel did an excellent job all around, and from what I gather, so did Bella. Will definitely be back. Even with my last review, I had every intention of going back just because I know the potential and they surely didn't fell short of that. Mimi is incredible -- she can do any custom art, and my Christmas nails came out flawless. She took her time, shaped everything perfectly, and there wasn't a single snag. BEETLES PRODUCTS USED -- DAMAGED MY NATURAL NAILS…read more I scheduled a Gel-X removal and new set, but the experience was very different from what I expected. Communication was limited, which was especially concerning during a service involving my natural nails. Also very unsanitary everything was covered in nail dust, and no dust collectors used?? The technician had attempted "popping off my nails" as removal and when I had asked if she was going to use a drill, she then proceeded to pull out her drill and drill bits. After I said I did not want them to be popped off. She used a large, coarse drill bit down toward my natural nail. I repeatedly pulled my hand back because the removal was painful and aggressive, and I was left with visible "rings of fire" from over-filing. I have been getting my nails done for years and am certified myself, so I am familiar with removal and preparation. The drill bit needed to be switched once she removed the bulk of the gel to a softer sanding band because of how close she is working to the natural nail. I was also uncomfortable with the products being used, including Beetles. This brand has already been called out multiple times because of concerns about its chemical properties. My concern is not simply that the brand is inexpensive or widely available, but that nail products are not properly formulated, labeled, and because of that cannot fully cure, in most cases. Improperly formulated or improperly cured gel products can increase the risk of allergic reactions and contact dermatitis, which is why I would not use a brand without verifying its ingredients, percentages, and curing requirements. The tips were bulky and poorly sized as well. Because of the condition of my nails and the quality of the service, I stopped the appointment and did not continue with the new set. They initially tried to charge me the full price even though the service was not completed. I came in expecting a decent Gel-X removal and left feeling that my natural nails had been unnecessarily damaged. I recommend being very cautious if you are going there for Gel-X removal or any service involving your natural nails.

While she was in the middle of removing my gel, a walk-in customer came in and asked for my technician. Instead of respecting my appointment or even asking if I was okay with switching, the owner simply took my technician away from me and gave her to the walk-in. I was left sitting there for about 10 minutes before I finally asked why no one was working on me. The owner told me that the other customer had requested my technician and that another technician would help me -- but that person was currently eating breakfast. Seriously? I made an appointment and arrived on time, yet a walk-in customer was given priority over me because she requested the technician I was already being serviced by. That is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, the replacement technician's work was just as disappointing. My manicure looked like it had already grown out after two weeks. There was a noticeable amount of space around my nails where the polish wasn't even applied properly. The pedicure was also poorly done. I specifically asked for round nails, but they were filed sharp. One side was longer than the other, and when I pointed it out, the technician kept filing instead of simply cutting the nail shorter. I had to explain that she was making the nail thinner and sharper instead of actually making it shorter before she finally used nail clippers. The French tips were uneven and sloppy, with some areas having much more polish than others. At that point, I was so frustrated and tired of having to point out every problem that I just stopped complaining and left. I normally go to Honest Nails, but I decided to try this place because it was closer and cheaper. Unfortunately, this experience reminded me that sometimes you really do get what you pay for. The price wasn't worth the poor service, the lack of respect for my appointment, or the quality of the work. I will never come back, and I definitely would not recommend this salon.
