Pretty sure we were overcharged. My boyfriend just got a basic/classic pedicure. No polish. I got shellac mani and pedi. Cost was like $120+. My mani didn't even last a week. They cleaned up my nails a bit but nothing else really, put them in some water for like a minute, which does nothing. For the foot scrub, they use a little hand held machine... that does nothing. My heels still needed to be scrubbed/have calluses removed when they were done. And they werent even thay bad, it just goes to show it didnt do anything. They were nice enough nail techs, but for what I paid and it was nothing special and didn't even last a week. Not acceptable. It's so hard to find good nail salons in Kent/Seattle. read more

used to come here all the time and tell all of my friends to come here because they used to do great sets for me. unfortunately last year I came in and got shellac acrylics and the gel was cured into my cuticle and got inflamed and swollen the next day on one of my fingers. I tried to come back the next day but they were closed due to hot weather and my finger got infected and I've had to go to the doctor a few times already and still have this problem with my finger/cuticle since last summer. it's been a year I've been dealing with this. they tried to say that it was a hang nail and that I already had it when I came in, but I def did not have this issue before that. I would post a picture but it's pretty gross. great people, but now I have paronychia on my finger that I have to deal with. not so great. read more

The atmosphere is calm, and serene, while having a fun vibrant vibe. It feels like you lucked out when you are there. So I just finished getting my nails done and they came out good. But they charged me 86 dollars for using more than one color. Which I did not know was a thing, but also I was not notified of this being a thing. Each color was only a single line and it wasn't even gel. I've done my nails at many place with many colors and still payed less than this. $$ seems off for the reviews. Update: so I went back to speak to them about how they charged me and what for. This is what they told me their rates are for those of you that would like to know (since they didn't have them posted anywhere): 50$ for powder (colored is 55$) 5$ for shaping 20$ for my design (I don't know how much more they would charge for others) 5$ for color (which they told me they were actually supposed to charge me $10 but brought it down) 1$ for filing I don't have anything personally against the salon but I have gotten this exact same design done down in Lacey by modern nails and they only charged me $50. This place came recommended for intricate nail designs. I've been here a couple of times now and I've had Bon work on my nails. I'm truly amazed at how talented, efficient, and detail oriented he is. Show him a photo of what you want and he is able to replicate it. I normally prefer dip powder over acrylic, but he makes them look as natural and uniform as possible. My mom brought me to Star Nails & Spa for a manicure and pedicure. I did the deluxe manicure and deluxe pedicure and they were both amazing! Ba did my pedicure and Bella did my manicure. Tony did my mom's pedicure and she was very happy with her service as well. We went in on a Saturday morning maybe around 11am. We were served right away. The salon is small and got pretty busy after we arrived so I would definitely recommend making an appointment. The deluxe manicures and pedicures include parafin wax, exfoliating scrub and a really great massage. My leg and foot massage from Ba was amazing! Bella's massage of my arms and hands was also fantastic and she even got my upper arms and shoulders. Most places are very quick and soft with the massages, but both ladies were strong and took their time with the massages which I absolutely appreciate. It was such a relaxing morning. I don't do anything fancy with my nails and don't do polish so I can't comment on nail painting/design/acrylics etc. Bella did shine buff my nails and they look great and so clean! I don't live in Kent, I live in Renton but I will definitely drive to Kent to have manis and pedis from this spa again! read more

I really wanted to like this place they were pretty attentive on my pedicure but they were so unsanitary none of the tools they were using look like they had been cleaned. They use the same filing tools and the same clippers and cuticle trimmers without disinfecting from the previous person. They also reuse the buffing machine to remove your callus without disinfecting. It doesn't look like they open a new set of tools per client since for me they just use whatever was already in the cart. If they had better sanitizing procedures I would probably come back but I really would not wanna get an infection. read more

Very happy with my gel mani today. Von? did an excellent job - he was efficient without cutting corners. Really like everything from the shape of the nails to the color application (no missed strips on the side of the nail bed). Got a pedicure and a fill. the lady only scrubbed one foot. Everything felt like rushed. The guy who did my fill offered me white polish along with a holographic powder on top. $62??? For a fill? I wasn't told how much extra the powder on each nail was but seems I was charged $5 for each nail. I have never spent $62 for a fill regardless. I will not be coming back here! None the less the powder they added made my nails a dirty white tone. Not happy! I can get a full set for $45-50 a fill for $30-$35 way over charged for not so great work. I tried asking why it was so much and one of the ladies said it was because of the shellac polish and then said it was because of the powder on each nail... $102 later for a $70-$75 service. read more

If I could give 0 I would. Went on a Thursday. By Tuesday I had 4 nails gel polish chipped. Wrote a review on Google. They said to come in and they will fix. Which I did. When we were leaving one of the ladies followed us out and asked if I can remove the review cuz they fixed it. So we told her we could change them but not completely remove them. But then The very next day one of the nails that I had just gotten fixed again chipped off. I couldn't go in to get it fixed as I was leaving the state to go visit family for Easter. It's now been 2 weeks and I have 6 nails that the gel polish has chipped off. For the amount that was paid I wouldn't have expected to experience this many problems. read more

Today I went in to get a full and pedicure. The technician sat me down to her Unsanitary station and removed my old polish from my fingers with a very used drill bid. She mentioned how thin my current acrylic is and when I said I liked how they were done she rudely said "so it's whatever" One of my nails had been ripped off a few days ago and my nail was lifted. She then said it was water damage (it is not and I am positive about this) and offered to cut the nail off half way up my nail bed. No ma'am you are not cutting my nail off. She then continually talked about me to someone in another language, she kept working then stopped and pushed cutting my nail further. Let's just say I ended up leaving with rough nails from the dirty drill she used and nothing lord completed. Her attitude, trying to do services she is not legally allowed to do, and the disgusting condition of the station is a hard pass. read more

Their pedicures are nice. I noticed they used the callous scraper on another person but they didn't on me. They use this really nice warmed lotion for massaging your feet and legs. There were three workers, and I appreciated that they were honest with walk ins when they didn't have time, rather than making them wait for ever. Horrible customer service! They overcharged me on a waxing service and I stopped going there. I needed my nails done at the last minute, so against my better judgement I went there. I always tip at least twenty percent, and have no problems paying their prices. So when the girl told me the price for the wax I paid it. I asked my girls what they thought about the price they didn't agree with it. So I called the next and find out I was overcharged 25 dollars. So when I got there the owner askes me why I stopped going there I told her the truth that they overcharged me and I wasn't feeling. She said who I pointed her out she denied it. She then confirmed that she never charges over a certain price. She said she wouldn't be compensating for the over charge cause I didn't come back sooner. First I wasn't asking for compensation two you asked what happened. Honestly I wasn't going to bring it up cause I'm really big on energy. Once my energy gets negative it takes me a second to come out of it. I protect my energy at all cost. She made a sly comment so the subject came up again she asked me to be quiet so her other clients didn't hear me. Said I will fix it and give you a discount her words not mine. Only not to give me a discount when we got to the register. The whole situation was frustrating and embarrassing I never complain. I came in to get a manicure and there were only two people getting pedicures by the same lady and three employees in the shop. The lady giving me the manicure wasn't rude, she just seemed really rushed. She cut my nails without really paying attention and didn't shape them at all. They were cut unevenly. She barely filed my nails, and they have been catching on things all week. She rushed through polishing them and left some unevenly colored spots. When she finished the manicure, she rushed me over to the drying table and made me feel like an inconvenience. I wasn't even done drying my nails and she came over and asked which pocket of my purse my keys were in so she could get them out. Then she sent me on my way. I don't know why she was in such a rush to get me out of there, there weren't any other customers and I don't see why it would be an inconvenience to just sit at the drying table a little longer. I was very happy to find a decent pedicure for only $22 before a fancy party I was attending. My feet have gotten destroyed from walking on the beach/sand. I was pleased that there was no wait at 6pm on a Saturday night. My attendant was very thorough, using a scrub on my calves, and later massaging them with a WARMED and yummy smelling mango Triple Lanolin lotion. The massage chairs worked (which isn't always the case at all salons.) I don't mind that they don't speak English - I prefer to drift off and relax. This location is not near my home, otherwise I could see it becoming my primary pedi-place. I walked away feeling like I definitely got my money's worth, and pretty toes to boot. read more
